I tried an aloe drink, you know those lovely little Asian things with the aloe vera stuff that are starting to crop up. The juice itself isn't bad, it's actually very tasty... it's the pulp that's weirding me out. It's like when you take apart an orange and get the little juice packets out individually but much, much larger. Not to mention, every so often, I feel like I'm drinking hand lotion because it tastes almost overwhelmingly aloe-y.

So, Subeta, what have you tried eating or drinking recently that gave you massive stinkface as a result? XD

(This aloe drink is going back into the fridge to be STRAINED at a later time. Bleh.)

I've tried them and all I can thinking about is me, chugging down my bottle of hand lotion ha ha. I wonder if my throat is super silky and smooth now? Who knows. As for me, it was probably drinking milk tea. I enjoy tea just fine and milk is ... not really my cup of tea (pun. i'm sorry). It tasted very weird from the start. Like an overly sweet tea with somethinc aromatic? I have no idea but it had a terrible aftertaste.

I've only ever heard of milktea, I've never had it or been able to find it here to have it. (I only just found ramune here, Japanese marble soda.)

Isn't milktea Australian?

I got my bottle from obaba (the old japanese lady where I buy groceries). She gave me some food items and I tried this out today. It was okay but I definitely won't drink it again.

I have no idea. Most people associate milk tea to asian ties and whatnot.

The smoothie before last that I made was gross. Super healthy, but not very tasty. Or I guess I should say it had too much taste to it. It was rice milk with a mixture of frozen fruit that included sweet potato and mango. It was just weird. I like fresh fruit ones so much better, but frozen makes more sense in the winter when you can't get good fresh around here.

I've actually had an aloe drink that had green tea and lychee in it as well. It was delicious, but rather expensive for the size.

Huh, I thought it was. It's still on my list of things to try but I'll keep in mind about the weird aftertaste. XD

Gross and healthy don't have to go together, y'know. I've never had rice milk... how does one begin to even milk rice?

Pulp or no? Because the pulp is what's throwing me off the aloe drinks something fierce.

I saw a drink in the store the other day that was chia-something. It was loaded with chia seeds, but the thing was, they weren't just sitting on the bottom. They were suspended EVERYWHERE in the drink. It looked viscous and nasty and chunky and every ml probably had like 15 seeds in it. Gross.

I really want to try an aloe drink, but there's too much sugar in it and I'm diabetic (not that, that stops me).

So I've chugged down one of those new Karma aromatic water bottle. I tried acai + pomegranate for immunity booster. It was okay. More like sugary water with a hint of the fruits. It has Stevia and cane sugar so that's probably how they get their sugar hint.

I just really want to intrude that I LOVE MILKTEA OMG but I think I'm too scared to even try aloe drinks xD mostly since I already know I'm not a fan of grass jelly and related things. I think milktea is associated with asians I guess because it's a popular bubble tea thing. (I dont like tapioca pearls actually tho so shrugs )

re:rice milk... I'm not sure if horchata has rice milk in it (I think it does?) but I also love love love horchata.

once upon a time I tried marmite....... ..... .... ... never again.

Dude, I love grass jelly. I used to take the canned grass jelly drinks in my school lunch when I was a kid which got me a lot of weird looks when I was younger.

How much worse is Marmite compared to vegemite? I tried vegemite while I was living in Taiwan and liked it, but I've never had Marmite though and I've heard Marmite is stronger in taste? That said, I did make the mistake when I first had Vegemite of eating it straight and it was horrible, but it was a lot more palatable and actually not bad when it was on buttered toast though.

I think the worst thing I've ever drank has to be tied for a bottle of coconut water that tasted literally nothing like coconut and everything like awful, or a bottle of $0.99 Merlot that I bought from an import store, which tasted like drinking straight vinegar.

The worst thing I've ever eaten was either sakura flavored kit kats, which tasted like lotion and then made everything else in the candy bowl taste like lotion, or wasabi kit kats, which just tasted like hot and sadness.

i HATE those as well, also some of them have like a high alcohol content ? its like wtf

i LOVE!!! aloe drinks and milk tea. i work at a korean bakery and theres a korean/japanese market nearby so im constantly drinking aloe juice!! i honestly love how silky it is and i know it reminds most people of drinking lotion but thats why i love it? its so good and they sell huge bottles of it for $2! :O)

every time i try tomatoes i remember how much i hate them. i can never eat them by themselves, theyre so gross. i try them every year to see if my taste buds have "matured" but i cant deal. the only other food i cant eat are canned green beans. i could probably eat every other food on the planet except tomatoes and canned green beans.

😘

I don't recall actually eating vegemite either but... yes, unfortunately I wasn't prepped beforehand and I tasted it straight. Haha, jokes on me. I can just say... the moment it contacted my tongue all the hair on my body probably shot straight up from the invisible fuzz on the bottom of my spine up to the top of my scalp. IT WAS LIKE SUPER CONCENTRATED POWER SALT ON STEROIDS and I thought some asian breakfast condiments/sides were salty...

i'm still scared of grass jelly drink i'm very chicken

i cant stand the smell of even durian candies, im not sure how i might dig into the fruit xD smells like corpses.. x.x

ohhh ohoo hoh oh speaking of malted/mildly alcoholic drinks, I really enjoy the occasional spoonful of jiuniang/mijiu (it's a really sweet fermented glutinous rice thing, unfiltered, rice included)... anyone else?
