This Chapter has a logic puzzle worth 500 points and an RP challenge for the team's companions worth 100-500 points.
Morrow is down a hole at the back of a cave. Magic doesn't work here, and there are many sharp rocks along the way. The hole is dark and dank, and he will have to be carefully extracted. How your companions accomplish this, which companions you send down, and which ones are above-ground crew is up to you.
Serious extractions or humorous--all accepted and it's all up to you.
The challenge and puzzle are both due July 15th at 11:59 pm Subeta time.
As always, questions and comments welcome.
.... ummm do you have a companion 4 rent I can use?
"What do you like, cats or dogs?" Or maybe a pissed off inn spirit?
BIRDS!!!!!!!!!!!!
why do people forget those, birds are awesome!!!
except that hawk my brother bought.... he actually got him a chick to eat and the coward was afraid of it!!! the chick would walk around the living room like a mob boss while the hawk coward away in the corner scared of it.... the chick would even peak him if he came down for food and the lame-o almost starved -_-;
inn spirit or bat would be awesome!
Then pull it out from under the front steps, whatever you want--it's really mad because its inn was taken over and it's essentially homeless.
awesome!!!!! then I'll pick the one that looks like this

the sootball from spirited away, appropriate?
pssst! I'd go for the spirit. Ah soo slow Multi ninja'd :D
I love birds too! My character a crow who was given intelligence and long life as thanks for a service.
In RL I've rescued great blue herons, crows and geese, ducks and swans, sparrows and woodpeckers even humming birds and a young red tailed hawk! All when I was a kid in the country! I love animals, I wanted to be a zoologist.^-^
Amen to that!
Perfect!
I'm going for spirit... the spirit of SOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! behold it's might..... as it attempts to lift a pebble ^^;
that sounds so nice! because of us humans their natural homes are being destroyed :(
I'm a germaphobe in RL so even though I love animals I'm more inclined to scrub them to death... and every surface they touched!!!! I can't help it ;u;
So magic doesn't work here. Does this mean Junu can't shrink our superhuge horse-sized companion down like with the tree root tube challenge last year?
The animals who live out here in the country don't suffer the effects of human presence as much as those near suburbia and cities do. Out here people and wildlife get along quite well, folks who run farms are very conscientious of the natural environment and many alter their farming techniques to help wildlife get along even without government involvement! ^-^ A lot of farmers, my family included, maintain plots of forests or even dig ponds just for the wildlife. We even control the cyote and deer population , not for sport, but for the health of the ecosystem. Our farmers newspapers even have wildlife outlook surveys and studies in them.
It's amazing how you meet an old "farmer John" type fellow and he is more knowledgeable about people and wildlife living together successfully than my college zoology professors. I brought my farmers newspapers to college each week and had them in utter disbelief that whole ecosystems could flourish under the care of simple environment-concious farmers and families. ^-^
He could try outside the cave, and Klytie could too--course, with Klytie, you might get a sheep, or a cow---or a horse if it works. There's always that X Factor.
... new assignment and some questions at the SL!
Companions are things like my bard's dark forest sprite or Elethia's cat, right?

Thank you! That sounds fun! Magic is always better with a bit of risk!
I'm from Dubai actually, it's cement surrounded by sand!
which is why I'm more familiar with urbanization and it's effect on wild life. seriously the only birds that can survive here are crows and the occasional exotic bird that escaped captivity. we used to have more variety but City life took care of that =/
That's terrible! I'm so sorry! I'm in Michigan of the US of A, we have an odd mix of destructive ignorant Americans, short-sighted over naturalist Americans, and small-town folks who live amongst nature and understand it's needs as well as the needs of people.
Out of the three it always seems the farmers get forgotten... =.=`
[Edit] Then of course you go up to the UP (that's the Upper peninsula, the rabbit-looking landmass above the Mitten) an EVERYTHING is in its natural state. There are a few cabins but it's mostly untamed wilds! Actually, much of the upper mitten is still untamed wilds, only a few cities along the edges on the shores of the great lakes. Michigan is awesome.
the trouble is people think they know stuff when they don't know jack shit!
We didn't even have crows in the U.A.E.... NONE!!!!! they were intentionally introduced to the ecosystem because of the rat problem around 10 years back.
ofcourse instead of going after the rats they went after OTHER birds. so now we have two pests for the price of one lol..
seriously they should know better then attempt to mess with the ecosystem, we hardly have any birds now except for the crows!!!!
