I've always loved coloring, and I've even kept a Winnie the Pooh coloring book and crayons at my parent's house for when I visit (since I know I'll end up bored).

I finally broke down a few weeks ago and got some colored pencils and the adult coloring book (well, I actually got post cards).

Has anyone else gotten into these yet?

I love all the movie theme ones!

I love my adult coloring books. Ive got a decent sized collection of them going now including one star wars themed book and one huge 18in by 24in book.

What kind of adult coloring book did you pick up?

I've recently bought two books on Amazon to fill my summer of boredom. One is Animorphia which has animals and cute critters drawn inside it! The other one is Memo to shitty people which contains a lot of curse words and it's very vulgar ha ha. It also has cute little animals and such around the words/sentences.

I want to buy the Harry Potter themed one!

Would you recommend it? I see them all over the place. I almost bought a Harry Potter themed one from Michael's craft store, but I didn't. I have heard somewhere that they are like a form of adult therapy. Not sure why I resist! :D

Ooh, I haven't seen a Star Wars one yet! I got a tropical set that has flowers and tropical animals in it. I got the post cards because it I figured it would be more discrete coloring one in class since they are small and separate. Plus I can send them to people when they are done!

There's one with vulgar words? That sounds amusing! :P

Oh, I would! I'd also suggest colored pencils opposed to markers, too. I feel they look a lot better and you don't have to risk bleeding.

thanks for the suggestion! I am not big on markers, but I usually use crayons. I'll have to pick up a book and some good colored pencils and see what it's all about. :)

I really like crayons too, bet the areas to color in most of these books are too small for them.

Awesome! Let me know which one you end up getting!

I can see how that would be a problem. Especially if they're not sharp!

Will do!

The Star Wars coloring book I have is awesome and super detailed. Im working on an awesome Yoda page at the moment. Id love to have one of the books with the naughty words in it. xD

I can never find the cards.. did you get them from the store or off the internet?

I use colored pencils mostly. But sometimes I use gel pens or the fine tip sharpies. It depends on the details on the page and how thick the pages are. all my books are one sided pages though. So I dont really have to worry about bleeding.

I got them at Michaels craft store. that's cool it's only one-sided, it seems like a really good idea.

I love adult coloring books. I have so many coloring books and not all of them are for adults, not that I care! I often post my finished stuff to my facebook because I get so thrilled with how it comes out. My Fiance got me one that's all Victorian era fashion and I've been really enjoying coloring it as of late.

Colouring was life as a kid and I've actually wanted to pick it up again. My mom has a popular patterns colouring book which she scans the pages of and prints, so she can reuse them over and over. I want to get some for myself so I can have some chill time on days when there's nothing to do but I never find myself at a craft or book store. I'll need to go.

I have an adult coloring book called "Tropical World". There are lots of different images to color and even places where you can add on to the image or complete it however you want, plus some blank pages in the back if you're feeling super creative. It's so relaxing and nice to do with my daughter. I do use colored pencils, but I can't color for long periods of time as my hand cramps up :/ I did find a curse words book that I would love to keep in my desk at work :P

Me too. I wish she had some cat ones though. I almost bought one that had primarily cash in it, but it didn't look as nice as hers.

Maybe the key is to get him drunk before making the coloring suggestion?

I was thinking about posting mine up on Facebook once they were finished as well. That way I can make all my friends jealous of my beautiful coloring skills. ;)

I haven't seen anything like that yet. A Victorian era fashion book sounds like it would be exciting and creative.

I've seen them at big department stores like Walmart as well, though I don't know if you would get as big of a selection. I've been really wanting to go down by the pool and color. I'm just not sure how well I can color with my left hand.

That's the one I have too! I just have it and postcard form. my favorite is the peacock, though I haven't gotten to it yet.

XD that is exactly what I told him. I was like, the only reason you are saying that now is because you are sober. But I know that once you are drunk you are going to think it's awesome. I think he wasn't completely sold on the idea because he can't color in between the lines

I found mine on Amazon. I love to share my art with people even if they don't like it. I'm proud of it and that's what matters. It's also like a virtual scrapbook for me if I lose the book. XD
