XD wow. Well maybe he can just be in charge of mixing drinks while you color.
Ikr??? He does mix good drinks though so I guess that's ok. Although it would be nice if he joined me instead of just watching tv and I'm the drunky coloring by myself x.x I guess there's always Chili. She played parcheesi with me when Ian didn't want to xD
I love the mandala coloring books, especially. I find there's something really peaceful about coloring those. But I also own a Disney's Frozen themed one with these gorgeous patterns... It's definitely becoming an addicting hobby for me lol
Does anyone know of a really nice set of pens with a wide variety of color?
: The "gold standard" for colored pens is Staedtler Triplus Fineliner -- they come in sets of 20 and 36 -- and are well-crafted pens. They exhibit little bleedthrough and are washable. I use Staedtler pens for marking on odd surfaces like wood or glass.
Pilot Frixion doesn't come in as wide a range of colors, but they have the advantage of being erasable; Amazon carries them in 8-packs. I use these at school for drawing graphs and diagrams since I can fix my mistakes.
Yes I got some! I forget how it got brought up, but my fiance went and bought a random patterned book at Kroger and we colored some of the pics. It really is super relaxing. Minus the fact that I have terrible pencil sharpeners for the colored pencils lol.
I did buy two more coloring books, Age of Ultron and Deadpool from Barnes and Noble. I have yet to color in them though. I need to get on that. I would love to get some animal-themed ones!
I just purchased an adult coloring book! It's owls! ^_^

Johanna Basford's, ftw.
Some are still too... simplistic for my liking. That was one thing I kept running into as a kid and now, it's come back with a vengeance as an adult. XD

I love adult coloring books! I bought a few recently from Barnes & Noble using a gift card. I use markers and colored pencils sometimes. Hopefully soon I'll get some new markers though, maybe sharpies or something I know will last a while.
I've seen a lot of adult coloring books. Haven't purchased any myself. Now they are in Magazine racks and some you can carry in your purse.
I've kept quite a few of my childish coloring books, but I've noticed the adult coloring book craze. I work at a used bookstore and use to scour the kids section for those Dover coloring books of nature, or history ... now there are Anne of Green Gables, Creatures of Harry Potter, mandalas of every type, and ones like Joanna Bradford who makes hers a bit like a Look n Find. Fun, but will I ever finish? The answer, though, to if I will drink wine&color til I go cross-eyed? Yes, please!

...I own 3 books so far, and maybe should not buy too many more! Mandalas, an animal one, and a spiritual/religious one.
I get frustrated sometimes with the really detailed designs. There is just so much detail, so may little spaces to fill in, and I like to plot out how to color it and sometimes it's hard to do that. And then sometimes I feel like I don't own enough colors to complete a page...out of the 3 books I have only completed 3 pages...boo
I both like and dislike adult coloring books... let me explain...
I love coloring and even before adult coloring books were a fad I would buy coloring books from the bookstore's children's section and do them :) Coloring was one of the few things that soothed me and helped me regain mindfulness when my mental health issues were at their worst. It's very therapeutic and I am very happy that it's becoming a thing that so many adults are doing, because I think a lot of people will benefit from this.
But it saddens me that we have to call them adult coloring books and not just coloring books. It's like we are no longer allowed to enjoy things like coloring unless we make it different somehow from the things that little kids do.
I love coloring, I love playing with toys, and cuddling stuffed animals to sleep. I enjoy a ton of things that are seen as things children do, I think EVERY adult does, even if it's in secret. So I like that adult coloring books are a thing, I just wish it were more socially acceptable for adults to like "little kid" things I guess...

Well I consider anything with a lot of details or lines an "adult" coloring book, because it wouldn't be good for kids. I still love regular coloring books, especially the ones that don't have a lot of details so you can be more creative. :D
you'd be surprised! My little sister LOVES her "adult" coloring book. It's one of the super detailed ones with tons of lines everywhere. And she is turning 7 this month!

i usually just buy kids colouring books tbh, i like coloring in cartoons and cute animals. only downside is kids coloring books usually have a bunch of those "activity" pages that im not really interested in
