I had the thought that instead of having a limited number of items that he will accept any number of each day, what if he accepted ALL items, but only a certain number of each per day? (Not suggesting these as actual numbers, but only as an example: 1000 each of all R1-R25 items, 900 each of all R26-50 items, and so on.) And if he hits that limit, then he won't accept any more of that item that day. You can control how many items are entering & leaving the economy to some extent this way.

I realize my suggestion A) has some problems itself, & B) may not be possible to code since I have no experience with code, but hopefully others will have additional ideas to post here.

If shops are limited, we will need some other resource for dumping items that are so common they're pretty worthless--no one will want to use limited shop space for something they can't make much profit selling. Most of us are reluctant to just delete items that we can't profit from, so we hoard them instead! lol

I think your limits might be too high but this could be a good idea :)

[edit] oh didn't realize you meant those limits as a group. I think individually it would make more sense.

I've always found it odd that it's not more like the pawn shop, where you can donate pretty much any item. I mean, I get that it's supposed to create some form of limit to help the items stay expensive... But with how things are changing we need more ways to get cheap items off of the site.

I was about to suggest something like this. Frankly, the reason my biggest hoard exists in the first place is because the Recycle Beast stopped asking for the stuff I happen to have!

This is somewhat similar to what I was thinking, though instead of a group goal, a personal daily goal. Like say, you can donate 50-100 items per day, and this is any item. Don't know if it would be a full point or a half point for each item, but it would get so much junk off the site.

The way the RB is set up now is a complete waste of a feature. We don't need people who ask for specific items (think clothing drive), we just need a feature where we can basically delete shit off the site and get some kind of compensation for it.

This is similar to what I was thinking, as well. Like maybe if he had a "wildcard" slot?

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking of things like this. ;) And yes, recycle points would almost certainly have to change somehow as well. But let's make him a REAL Recycle Beast, y'know? lol

, yes, those weren't real numbers, just quick easy examples.
