Hey, what's up guys? It's been a while. I thought I was done here, but I've been hitting some rough times and I couldn't help but remember how nice everyone was here. So, since I've spent the better part of the last two months by myself, I'm dying for someone to talk to.
We can talk about anything you like. Let's see . . . I'm trying to get into school for Game design . . . working on a script now. I've been working at Gamestop for a year so far and plan to stay. I have a beautiful lab mix and an equally beautiful longhaired black house cat. I'm on my own for the first time and let me tell you, it's scary. Bills are looming and friends are fast disappearing.
I sound so pathetic haha. But I'll accept it for now.
So how is everyone? Happy? Healthy? Achieving all your dreams? I sure hope so!
Well, if you're going into game design, what kind of games do you like? c:

The games I like are all really different types of games, but they all have super strong story lines. Games like Bioshock, DMC, Alice: Madness Returns, Assassins Creed (1&2 mostly, but Syndicate is impressing me so far). As well as the Witcher, which is my fav at the moment. :)
@ Tsukemono
Aww, all of that and job hunting on top. That must be hard. :(
Yeah it feels a bit overwhelming at times but I ultimately feel it will work out somehow which is quite amazing to me. Usually I don't think optimistically so it's quite a relief that I am optimistic at this point in my life. So do you live with anyone or is it just you and your 2 lovlies?
Oh, cool~ :D I've seen some of Bioshock and the first Assasin's Creed, myself. AC was pretty cool. I've only heard some of the music for Alice: Maddness Returns, but what I've heard was really good! I'm kinda curious about the story of it.

Glad it's all positive right now. :) That's the best we can hope for sometimes.
I'm actually living with a friend and her dog and cat. It's kind of a weird family, and we even fight like sisters. It can be stressful sometimes, but I think we'll be ok. The biggest issue is that she's never there, so I spend a lot of time on my own, on account of not being great at making friends lol
Alice has some really good story elements, and it's really twisted and deep. Definitely worth a look into!
I'd kinda like to be able to say that I can relate to not being great at making friends, but in my case it's at least partly because I just don't try. >>; Even when I was in college, I generally just studied on my own instead of trying to talk to people. ^^;
As for the game, yeah, I'll definitely have to check it out! c: I'm kind of curious too; from the games you listed somehow I feel like it wouldn't really be your thing, but what are your thoughts on the original Dead Space? Have you seen or played it? o:

I never really tried in high school, but I still kind of did by accident? Haven't been able to get myself into college yet (not for a lack of trying, but for a lack of green), but as I'd be going in for game design, I've been told I'd be in groups for most of my school career. The weirdest thing is that I'm looking forward to it haha.
Oh, I loved the first Dead Space. I've played it too many times now for it to be scary, but I have had plans to name my first born (who will never come if I have any say in the matter, but that's besides the point), Isaac, because of Dead Space lol It did the atmosphere very well, and even the second one did the descent into madness beautifully. The third never happened.
Aw well do you two get along most of the time?
My boyfriend and I just checked out a new church yesterday. We didn't even know there was a parade yesterday until they announced it at church so he and I volunteered to help with it. It was kinda fun but mostly did it to have friend making opportunity. They're having a bonfire Thursday so we are going to attend and try to have some fun, make friends. Saturday I took him to a Pokemon TCG tournament just for him to battle people after and see if there were any potential friends. I ended up sleeping in the car the whole time but now we know they have Pokemon League every Saturday we can go to.
Yeah, I wouldn't have been able to go either if I weren't able to get financial aid benefits. Haha, well, I don't really think that's weird~ Even if you're not a groups kind of person, if it's with a bunch of people with similar interests then I could see someone looking forward to it. ^^
Hahaha, oh man, I'm all with you on every bit of that! I freaking love the first Dead Space, it's by far one of my favorite things. And it's funny, I've thought the same thing about having a kid too; Both about not wanting one and if I did, potentially naming the Issac because of DS. I'd only hope that if those circumstances were to come to fruition, the kid would wind up appreciating being named after such a character. xD As for the game itself, for all of the times I've played the first one I still haven't actually managed to beat it. ouo; It might be kind of a weird problem to have, but I tend to wind up with too much adrenaline pumping through my veins to be able to use the controller well enough to play the game. >u>;;

welcome back!! i recently popped back in after being gone a while too ^^; and you don't sound pathetic! being out on your own is a big deal! when i first moved out a few years ago, i spent a lot of time on subeta talking to ppl too, because i was just living with my crappy boyfriend at the time and he wasn't very good company. subeta was a huge comfort for me back then so I totally get why you're scoping out the forums :V
i also skimmed your replies there and its nice that you're living with a friend tho, even if you fight. although it sucks that she's never there (i hateee being alone in the house and i know what it's like to have the place to yourself most of the time... its pretty lonely :/ ). is it nice having her around when she is there, sometimes? I know a lot of people say you shouldn't live with your friends bc they assume that you'll fight, and sometimes that's true, but ive pretty much exclusively lived with friends since i moved out of my parents house and i don't regret it a bit! (i've also lived with a LOT of different people, so my situation is a little atypical.) but it is really hard to adjust to a completely new situation like that when you have bills, work, trying to get into school, etc. on top of figuring out this new home dynamic, no wonder you're feeling lonely! you've got a lot going on! are you holding up ok?
i honestly just don't think i could live on my own and i dont want to, I like having roommates, it's a thing that works surprisingly well for me lol. and pets ofc :^) we have two cats. do your dog and cat like each other? i havent had a dog for years, but the times that i have, they always wanted to be friends with the cat and the cat was NOT having it, lmao. (that was also true of my rats. my rats just wanted to be friends with the kitty, and the kitty was terrified of the little guys, hahaha)
as far as doing good, achieving dreams, etc... I think I might be lol??? I've had a real rough couple of years, but things have been looking up in the last few months and it looks like they're going well into the foreseeable future, so fingers crossed the ground doesn't fall out from under me again, heh ^^;
Haha, that's good though! I've been thinking about things like that, and even one of my managers, sweetheart he is, is buying me a full card set for Force of Will and he's going to teach me how to play. He doesn't know how either, but he's gonna sit with the guy who sells card stuff and learn so he can teach me haha. Then I can play that with people. :D
His middle name would be Daniel, technically after my dad, but also after like, 9/10 horror game protagonists haha. Isaac Daniel.
Thanks for the understanding, and I'm glad things are working out for you! Unfortunately, I won't be living with my friend for much longer, and I've got everything worked out so that I can be gone forever in a few months. It's just too hard on me, and I'm tired of being yelled at by someone I thought was my best friend. I guess I fall into the category people warned you about haha.
For me it's the other way around, my cat wants desperately to be friends with my dog. I've actually upgraded to three, with a second cat. Well, a first cat technically. My baby that went missing four months ago was found really close to my house, so we picked her up and I'm nursing her back to health. So that's been a drain on me too, but at the same time a moment of brightness. :)
I'm dying to get a tarantula tho. I know I'm mostly alone there, but it was all I wanted when I moved out and I still don't have one. :(
Sorry, that got long quick lol
That's awesome! I've never even heard of Force of Will, I'm kind of assuming it's some kind of tabletop RPG?
Including the Main character in Amnesia: The Dark Descent. >u> Actually I think that's the only game I know of with a main character named Daniel. The name Isaac Daniel sounds really cool, too. If I were a kid I think I'd be proud to have that name~
I'm really glad Mucha was able to show you so much understanding. Unfortunately, I have yet to actually move out of the house due to medical setbacks, so it's kind of a foreign thing to me still. :/ If I could give you some more than just small talk, I definitely would.
Aw, the kitty ;n; I hope you can manage to get it back in full swing before long. I have a cat and a dog myself, the two of them actually get along in their own quirky sort of way. They love to tease and pester each other, but they're usually careful not to hurt one another.
Oh man, a tarantula, huh? I'm totally curious to know what it is you like about those things.

aaah that's too bad ): since that's the case, I'm glad you're getting out. gosh, no wonder you're having a rough time! seeing that side of your friend, on top of everything else, times like this are when you need your friends to get along with you and support you the most! aah :< but good for you for doing what you need to do to move! you gave it a shot, you couldn't have known it wouldn't work out unless you tried, but you still gotta take care of yourself first.
OMG Im so glad you found your kitty tho!! that's wonderful!!!! ;w; and thats so funny about the dog, lol. I've had cats my whole life, but only two dogs, and it was the opposite in both instances for us. My cat is extremely aloof in nature tho, he's not a particularly friendly cat (not that he's mean, he's just... disinterested). I've been really glad because he FINALLY made a friend, he loves my current roommate's cat. they do everything together, it's adorable heheh
You should totally get a tarantula!! I watch tarantula vids on youtube sometimes, they are so pretty and everyone who has them says they make excellent pets. Even tiny little garden spiders are exceptionally smart and have really complex social lives, I can imagine that tarantulas are really wonderful to interact with ^^; (I like this video because this gal was so huge you could hear her little feet on the carpet!) I LOVE spiders even tho Im also deathly afraid of them, I'd love to get to a point where I can hold a tarantula someday (altho my personal faves are jumping spiders, this one looks like she has little eyelashes!! >w<). But I have a love of most animals, especially the 'ugly'/'gross' ones that are just misunderstood. I think part of what I still have to get over in re: my spider phobia is just like, their body language? I'm most familiar with cats and rats in terms of animal body language, I've spent so much time with them I feel like I can tell what they're thinking, but spiders might as well be aliens lol.
Haha, it's ok. Small talk is what I'm here for! As for Force of Will, it's basically just the art I like, which has a lot of throwbacks to fairy tales and urban myths, which is pretty cool.
I'm sure my little girl will be fine, haha, she's already eating everything she can find and she's gained a full pound since I found her a week ago. She'll be good in a month I hope.
Haha, Isaac Daniel will be the love of the school. As for tarantulas, I have a deep love for spiders, and will defend them to the death lol. I just want the world to see their precious adorableness. They're the smartest arthropod and some of the smartest creatures of similar size. Even Jumping spiders, as mucha mentioned, are actually smarter than many mammals. I love them so. And a female tarantula can live up to 40 years with only minimal care (feeding once a week, cleaning once a year. Easy peasy.) Of course my little girl would be super socialized so I could get her out and love on her veeeeery gently.
Thanks so much, it actually helps a ton to hear someone say that. I've been feeling somewhat like a failure over here, and I have only one friend left irl, and he's not very helpful (in a loveable, bumbling doof kind of way)
She's happy to be home, I can tell, lol
My dog just wants all the attention to himself (we rescued him from a friend who was keeping him locked in a bathroom for literally five years and we could only get him out of there a year ago). So he's super attention starved, even a year later. So when the kitty comes up asking for attention from us or even him, he gets super jealous.
I just . . . spiders man. I love them so much. Everything about them. I'm really happy to year you like them too even though you're scared of them! I actually hear that a lot of people that keep them are arachnophobes for real, but it helps them to have them I guess. I've studied a lot about spiders, so I think I have the body language down, but you never know. At least it helps to know that if a spider bites you because you misread it's language, it'll prob be a dry bite and it'll just hurt a bit lol. That venom is precious yo.
I think I will get one. As soon as my tax return comes, I'll go get one. :D
Ah, cool. c:
Haha, okay~ Still, I'll be sending my best wishes to your little kitty. c:
I actually do know that about Jumping spiders. I wound up just looking into the eyes of a jumping spider at one point, and it seemed like it was analysing me just as I was it. All in all, I tend to fluctuate a lot between being chill with bugs and spiders and kinda freaking out a little bit whenever I have to deal with one. It mostly depends on how familiar I am with the creatures, though. However I do still have my prejudices. I can't stand most bugs with long thin legs like granddaddy long-legs, or a pretty good deal of flying beetles like stink bugs. I might be comfortable enough with jumping spiders to let them walk on me though, and tarantulas, maybe if I got used to them. Garden spiders and even black widows actually, I'm okay with being in relative proximity to. I wouldn't let them walk on me, though. >_>;;
Haha, aw~ That's adorable.

I figured this might be a good place to start...
I'm new to the site. c: But, I, too, find myself lonely - or at least, finding it difficult talking to my friends, and the people around me. I work, a lot. I'm a traveling bartender / server trainer for a movie theatre / restaurant hybrid & a promotions assistant at one of the local Top 40 stations where I live. I reside with my parents & brother, which is okay at best. We have two mini toy poodles - Toot & Gus.
So... Yeah. Hi.
I'm glad I could help, if even a little bit ^^; I've totally been there, especially feeling like a failure and having no friends left at the same time. Sometimes you just get stuck in a rut and it just drags on and on. I think there's a lot of pressure to have your shit figured out right away when you move out and stuff, but it's just not realistic. Then again I don't think anybody ever truly knows what they're doing, they're just good at acting like they are lmao. Even if it doesn't seem like it, you're actually doing better than I did when I was at that point, and a lot of other people I know! You'll find something that works for you, it just might take some time. (:
Aww, no wonder ur pup gets jealous!! (Thank goodness you got him out of there at all, too, that's so sad... but good that he has such a loving home now!!) I did not know tarantulas could live to be 40 tho omg!!! :0 That is incredible!! I just love animals so much, ever since I was a little kid. I've volunteered at a wildlife rehab center, and studied zoology quite a bit, mostly on my own time. It's such a bummer when people want to write off animals just because they're "gross" or they're scared of them, especially when it comes to other people's pets. That's just mean. Im sure spiders think we're gross too lol. Just cause I have a gut reaction to an animal or a bug doesn't mean they're not lovable! And heck, I mean, some spiders keep frogs as pets!! That's so cool I love it!!!!
hey, welcome! i hope you're liking it so far! subeta can be a bit overwhelming, there's definitely a learning curve, but the people are really great and there's lots of fun stuff to do! if you have any questions or need help with anything, feel free to shoot me a comment/sMail! It sounds like you're having a bit of a tough time too, but I know there are folks here who can relate. It's so hard to keep up socially when you work that much. :/ Your jobs sound really interesting, though! Do you like them? Toot is such a cute name for a poodle, hehe. We have a cat named Gus :^)
What you say is true - I have found in my travels, that Subetians...? Users of Subeta, are really rather friendly and kind. I love it. I'm getting a hang of the site. I love it. It is difficult to keep up socially, but I just havent been inclined to. Which makes me feel like a horrible friend to those I keep close. The holidays have been kind of a bummer this year, but with the release of Star Wars, I've just been so busy. Idk. :/ Yes. I love them both. It's not a typical 9 - 5, which I never saw myself doing in the first place. it's always something new every day, so its always interesting. Toot is our oldest now. Gus is a little goof and I love him. I love cats too. I miss mine. How long have you had yours?
