This summer we had a lovely event with little or no lag and no initial crash when it started. And Morostide didn't have a crash in it that I experienced.
But, now for those of us who are nostalgic for Firesides past, we got a lovely site crash when the event started. Those were the days.
except it's not subeta and cloudflare is having issues due to a DDoS attack
The errors today thus far have been 500 Server Errors rather than Cloudflare error screens so unless Amazon is under DDoS attacks...
They had a major server move yesterday and you're expecting the site to run flawlessly?
So we have ta break in the new servers a bit before things go smoothly~ I'm not surprised the site crashed a bit when the news post was released; that generally happens every first day of an event/holiday, if I'm not mistaken.
But the site appears to be stable now.

The site seems to be running pretty smoothly for me so far. Most games have a few hiccups when events first start, it's not like Subeta is unique in that. I don't expect it to be flawless right off the bat, especially as they just had a big server move.
It was rough a few hours ago when the event was announced in the news. But it seems alright now. I figured it had more to do with the server move and everything, since it was acting the same as the other day... but hopefully it is fixed now.
I thought there was a DDoS attack someplace along the line?

I've been having lag/502 issues with the site since before Fireside started up, so I don't think it's the holiday.
It has nothing to do with the event going on, I'm pretty sure.
This seems to always be what happens, Subeta does some overhaul on the site right before a holiday in what I have rationalized as staff wanting to really test out whatever they happen to have changed. If that isn't their intentions I'd honestly be shocked.
Unfortunately the rest of the year is basically a holiday, so we didn't have much choice!

I'm totally not blaming staff for it either. I swear over the last 6 years I've been on here that site updates have more often times occurred just before holidays, and so I guess I internalized it as you all wanting to see if the most current update could handle functioning with higher traffic.
Haven't really had any issues with the site since I popped on last night btw.
