It's on my back underneath my left shoulder.
Congratulations! Looking really good! Love the design <3 Is there a reason there's no star in the north-west?
. XD
No, it's actually supposed to be a Peter Pan tattoo. The original had the quote "Second Star to the right and straight on till morning" in it, but the design of the compass didn't work well with text so the tattoo artist nixed it and put stars on the right side instead.
Ah, I get it now. So it's a beautiful design with an interesting explanation. :)
So pretty I love it! Big congrats to you. c:
I want a tattoo so badly but my fear of needles always beats me in the end. ;~;
It took me 13 years to get a tattoo. I've wanted one since I was 18( not the same design, but I've wanted one more or less for years though.) For me, it was always the pain though and then once I actually did it it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be.
As soon as I saw the picture I was like, "I wonder if that's a Peter Pan tattoo." Scrolled down, and sure enough! haha It's lovely. c:
I've wanted a tattoo since I was ten. I actually want several now, but I'm holding off on getting them for the forseeable future because I actually really want to work at Disneyland some day and their policies are very strict. lol
Very true, but you may be able to hide a tattoo with makeup. I used to know a lot of people that worked at Disneyland when I was in undergrad and yeah, their policies were crazy strict, but people took stuff out or, if they had tattoos got them in non- visible places. Yay, thank you for knowing what the tattoo is. :D
It looks great! It's very nicely done. And welcome to the world of tattoos. Soon you'll start thinking of other tattoos you want. I have three and I want more.
I've thought about getting a tattoo in a non-visible place, but unfortunately most of the ones I want are pretty visible. haha I'll get them done eventually, for sure. ^-^
I always figured that if I got a tattoo it'd be in a less visible place. Backs are visible, but it's not a super huge tattoo and I rarely wear tanks so having it be visible wouldn't be an issue for me.
I always made the assumption job wise that a tattoo could be a potential issue. I do know people who did work in Disneyland with piercings and usually they took them out. The tattoos, I'm not sure about since I didn't know anyone in undgrad with tattoos but I assumed if they had any and worked at Disneyland they were hidden with makeup.
I love compass tattoos, and I really quite like yours, it's very pretty! That's impressive that you waited so long to get one, haha!
I have a couple tattoos, and I'm thinking about my third one, might get it in the spring.
The potential for massive amounts of pain always psyched me out from getting one. XD
Nice! :D
Looks awesome, glad it was a good experience for ya!
And for those worried about the pain level, it usually tends to feel a bit like scratching an itch on a sunburn. Ouchie, but not agony.
It's a beautiful piece!
How painful was it? I have a large tattoo in the middle of my back that spans my shoulders and while the spine was bad, I found the edges of the shoulder blades to be the absolute worst, so I imagine that didn't feel too great!
It was bearable pain, but mine wasn't directly on the shoulder blades and it wasn't near my spine though. It's directly below my shoulder on what is basically back area. XD
I do remember one part hurting a bit more, not enough to be an OMG, IT HURTS, but it did hurt a bit more. I don't remember exactly where, but it was either around the edges of the points or the inner circle. I can't exactly remember exactly which part of my back he was hitting when he did it.
The tattoo artist I had didn't hit as hard though simply because he knew that it was my first and kept asking me if the pain was ok so... XD
Fair enough! You're lucky you had a nice artist lol. My artist was an artistic genius but at one point another artist walked by and was like "whoa, dude, you're filling it with a ? You're a jerk." And I was like ?!?!?!? and the artist explained that typically the needle he was using was used only for outlining things and was one of the more painful types of needles to use, but he was using it because he didn't want a lot of the finer details in my tattoo to look too bold. I'm glad he did it the way he did because it looks beautiful, but by the end of the session I was just unabashedly sobbing.
I'm also kind of a wuss with no pain tolerance, though, so yeah haha.
