I find myself being uber-interested in a lot of seemingly random, pointless, stupid (etc) stuff. So I was wondering if anyone else is the same way??
For me, I've always been this way and the obsessions change almost weekly. :P But I've always loved Australia and Japan, and lately my Japan craze has been very evident. So currently, my seemingly random things that I love are Kracie (or Meiji, or any other Japanese brand) DIY candy kits. I have watched (literally countless) hours of these things being made on youtube and I fell in love so I ordered like 12 of them. I actually got my first package of them today, and I'm super pumped.
So what about you guys? What kind of seemingly stupid little things do you really like?
I'm obsessed with searching for things in video games. I don't mean quests even, although I do have to do every single one of those, lol. I mean that I have to search through every trash can, every treasure chest, every house/castle/spaceship, etc. for whatever piece of weaponry/armor/candy, etc. I can hoard.
that's so funny because I'm the same way!! When I get a game I try to play it all through but then once i've beaten it I try to go back wth a walk through and get every last thing. Whether it's worthless stuff or not I need it all xD
Hm. Well, I'm obsessed with this blanket of mine. It reminds me of my hero (in my sig) because he's like a security blanket to me. I'm attached to him, and he always cheers me up when I'm in certain moods. I also have an obsession with trains. Well, not at the same extent as I did when I was younger, but I still really enjoy them though. Then there's my obsession with kid cartoons and teen dramas or whatever. I don't like anything with gore or violence or anything. I'm still very much a kid at heart because it makes me feel comfortable and safe.
I think that's awesome! There's nothing wrong with being a kid at heart. ^^ Half the time I'm truly surprised that I'm actually 18, because I quite often feel like I'm still 11 xD I think that's awesome! Who is that, by the way (in your sig)? ^^
His name is Takeru. He's from SuG, a Japanese visual kei band. :3 I'd think of more things, but my brain is dead. X_____x
Swimming, wolves, minecraft, animes, sharks and good grades. AND MONEY.
that is awesome ^_^ i'm a sucker for japanese stuff, although i've never heard of a visual kei band until now, but i do absolutely adore japanese music so thank you for teaching me about a potential new obsession :') <3
all of those things are winners. i wholeheartedly agree ^_^
i love subeta too, perhaps a tad too much :3 whoops
as for my own random obsessions, i love socks with weird patterns. every time i see something crazy i can't help but get them tbh.
i highly appreciate you linking that video, because now i will never hear money said the same way again. xD
oh my gosh, weirdly patterened socks are the best. i love the holiday season, when there's tons of halloween ones with little ghosts and crap, and christmas with all the little candy canes and stuff. ugh. i enjoy those too. although, when it comes to actually wearing them, i'm pretty plain, considering i only ever wear black socks. :o but then again, i'm a clothes hoarder, and i own too much stuff that i don't wear :')
I love these youtube channels where they order japanese DIY kits but can't read jack shit lmaoo.
WTF I SCREAMED
haha I can't read them either, but the videos are still quite enjoyable to watch :') and also, my favorite one (rrcherrypie) shows them in a pretty useful way so that I know I can figure out how to make them when I'm ready :P I have 11/12 that I've ordered, but I'm honestly like...afraid to open them...just because I think I'll make them too fast, and then I'll be out and have to try to round up money to buy more, and then wait another 2.5 weeks for them to show up :(
They look fun to do. I might even try to find some.
you definitely should. My personal favorite is the Oekaki Gummy Land set by Kracie. I buy mine on amazon, because that's honestly the cheapest I've been able to find them somewhere other than Japan. They sell them in an anime store not too far from my house, but for like $6-$9, whereas on amazon I've been able to find them for $2-$4 with free shipping, so it's nice to save that extra money to be able to buy more. Although, one of the sets I ordered had 9 different ones, and shipping was ~$5 on it, but it was still much cheaper (only $20 total) to get those on amazon than it would have been to buy 9 of them at the anime store. :P Plus, they're just very difficult to find in person unless you live in Japan.
Oh god...I love learning new languages, sometimes for just no reason at all other than "I just feel like it". Currently learning the Gaelic-Irish and German. Also love love love the feel of sweatpants up over my stomach (Can't wear them around the waist itself where they'd be near the bellybutton because it bugs me where I recently got stitches out after gallbladder surgery). The pairing of sweet potatoes and seasalt. Hear me out on that one though. The salt helps bring out the natural sweetness and tame down some of the more...cloying aspects of the sweetness.
I've got flames on my chest. It's a lot to live up to.

i honestly really enjoyed your answer. :P i love learning new languages too, but i've never been very good at it, so i never get very far. :( i'm planning on learning japanese and probably german also during college. :) and surgery doesn't sound like fun :( i actually really really love putting sea salt on sweet potatoes. salty sweet potato fries....oh my gosh. <3
Sugar cookies. Not to eat but the really fancy decorated ones with royal icing. I like to look at pictures of them. Some of them are almost artistic. I wish I had the patience and dedication to do it myself.
I also like a specific glass Coke bottle. The grocery stores around here sell individual bottles of Coke made in Mexico. Some people say it tastes better because it's made with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. I can't taste a difference, but the bottles they sell them in are made of this thick green glass. It's really pretty.
Wax melts. I love my wax melter. I've managed a collection of wax melts. My favorites scents are cranberry mandarin, lemon and black pepper, and sandalwood.
Not sure how to describe this but I like to put things together. Like in The Sims. I like to build stuff up and customize however I want. I'm still playing Skyrim because I spend more time using the Creation Kit than playing the game. Building houses and shit. Unfortunately I have a habit of hating or deleting things when I get close to finishing them so it's a never ending project.
