I've come to learn that OD potentially no longer vends Super Rares. If this is the case, I am very unhappy. I paid a LOT of sP for that map to be able to use that machine for that very purpose as it was supposed to be the one machine that vended SRs. Please change this machine back to include SRs again. It doesn't have to be frequent because it'd really drop their value, but enough to make it worthwhile to those who have the map.

If it does still vend SRs would the frequency be upped some please? Because the chance of getting a SR is so low that it's useless.

OD was supposed to be the special vending machine that included the SRs. I (and I'm sure others did too) bought the map for OD because of what it vended. I do hope that it stays that way.

I don't see a reason why super rare items should be given again through the OD, finally they have some kind of value.. The full map costs only 6,747,563 sP (calculated with the current prices) it's not a lot of money at all.. you can get it back in a very short time by vending and selling the items.. OD is already the best VM here, there's no reason to make it even more better..

Carl's quests are actually pretty nice now, so if you're just working to make back the money you spent on the map, that'll help you out.

I don't think the vending machine needs to be changed though. {Edit: I just vended 50 items and they're worth over 200k. I could have made more from selling the tokens themselves instead, but considering I literally got paid to earn them, I can't really complain about 200k}

If you want to gamble to get super rares, I suggest the coin machine

super rares where taken out of vending as a way to help make restocking viable again. When super rares were vendable not only does it mean that more of them were going out, but it also means that an even higher amount of other rarities are going out through vending because more people would vend. Many of those items were literally worthless because of it. We need a balance, and it's better now than it was before.

No vending exclusive items and only lower rarity stuff? Can we just do away with vending machines finally?

We might as well get rid of them. I only vend for Major Drills quests now because it's not worth the tokens and clicking for nothing but worthless junk.

No, sorry. You'll have to get those backgrounds either through quests or wait for them to be restocked by other users ;)!

I do have to wonder what the special purpose of OD is now though. Used to be you could get all kinds of things there, now, if I'm not mistaken, it's just Riptide. Not really worth it, in the end.

So OD is now useless. That's a really awful. Terrific. Vending used to be fun and a way to make a profit. Now it's just useless and a waste, like others have said.

We might as well just ditch vending entirely. You can't get rare items, you can barely score new releases out of the machines because 95% of them are over r75, and they're phasing out exclusives. I say just move the pre-existing exclusives somewhere else and get rid of vending.

I spent over 40million on that map, so Idgaf if it costs 6mil to get it now. OD was a great way to get newer wearables since my computer is too slow to get through the captcha and reloading.

If everything on site is extremely profitable, then nothing is. You can still make an okay turnaround from vending, maybe not at Ocean Depths unless you get lucky but with vending in general, you can. Keep in mind that if you only use tokens you got yourself from Wizard quests, you already got paid to earn those tokens so everything you make from vending then is pure profit.

if you only use tokens you get from wizard and you don't make back what the tokens are worth ever, you're just ripping yourself off. I wouldn't call that a profit, I'd call that losing out on potential profits. If something on the site is never going to be profitable and it keeps getting nerfed because it's a hindrance to the site and nothing is special about it any more, it should be retooled completely or just scrapped. Lower rarity means that even vending to frag is not worth it any more.

I don't have a problem removing vending. I very rarely vend anymore, and I did this morning to test some things out. Lost out on the value of the tokens on Ocean Depths, made a profit on Prize Get (my usual go-to machine).

But in my opinion, loss of potential profits does not equal a loss. You got the tokens for free (in fact you made money just by earning the tokens, I obviously can't speak for everyone but I can't remember the last time I lost money on a Wizard quest) and are earning more money from them.

vending machines are pretty much scamming you. even if you got your tokens from the wiz. I would consider that a loss personally. in the real world, if you could cash out on your investment or risk it in something with low returns/something with probable loss, then you would not risk it for that amount of potential gain. wiz tokens = easy sP, I consider both fluid. so if I don't make back at least what I put in, it is a loss.

I am not in favor of machines pushing out r81+ items (super rares and high-end rares), though I do feel that vending does have its purpose of preventing lower rarity items from becoming overinflated (especially since I never seem to be able to catch even mundane rarity items RSing anymore). I'm just glad that OD still has a r70 limit, especially when other machines stop at r60, despite normal rarity going up to r65.

I used to vend but gave up because it's totally not worth it. Better just keep the tokens or sell them. You'll get more profit.

I'm gonna make some tweaks to vending machines. They shouldn't be worth it on every spin, but they should be a way for us to get items into the system. Not super rare+ items, but items that there aren't enough of in circulation in general.

I'm not super happy with where they are right now, I think that there is room for improvement. I think that we sort of lost sight of what we were trying to do with vending machines with the silly exclusive items (this chart does not include those) and hopefully I can undo a little bit of that.

However, vending machines can't/shouldn't be a replacement for other methods of getting items out onto the site.

[edit]

Also, I'm moving this to feedback. No idea why it was put in suggestions .
