How important is this stat compared to strength? I was told mine was underleveled and I should start training it.

eh there's some debate about it, I think it's probably best just to keep it even with your other stats for the time being.

I'd say training speed with the rest at the beginning is a good idea. I didn't stop training Mel's speed til I got to 2000 speed. Speed helps with critical hits, and outspeeding opponents is always helpful.

I disagree, I say ignore it, with EXP, it is very easy to play catch up with stats.

Right now its worthless, and you will be able to go through content much faster by ignoring it.

But like kbbob said - there is some debate about it.

Compared to strength, speed isn't as useful. Right now at least, it isn't. That may very well change in the future if the BAs decide to change its function.

Seeing as you're just starting out, it will be easier to keep Grim's stats even across the board. By the time you reach T12, then I'd recommend planning out what your final build for Grim will look like.

personally i'd say that speed tends to be more of a game changer in fights with higher level opponents, it could mean the difference between who gets koed first. When just starting out though, it doesn't make much of a difference.

I have one of the fastest pets on site , and it has helped me stomp Prodigy even though I don't really otherwise have the equipment or health to do so. I trained my pets even, because I'm in it for the long haul and also don't feel the need to minmax. I'm not solely a battler here so "getting it done" isn't a strong motivator for me.

FWIW the ration of the speed formula was changed not too long after I first posted that and Prodigy is now a harder fight than it used to be for my pet that's just over the former cap. So maybe this wasn't intentional on the part of the BAs and Speed was intended to be every bit as useless as many battlers claim it?

does your high speed allow you to flee from fights that are too difficult for your pet?
