I don't know if this was intentional, but Library seems to be asking for Cavern of Cuiros items only as its second item. As a result, most normal CoC items have either been hoarded up or disappeared off the shop search.

If a shop must be picked, I don't think the Cavern is a good idea - not nearly enough stock. I had trouble completing half my Library quests for the day.

What do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure LQ's second item is picked from whatever shop the Mystery Box is drawing from on any given day. Therefore, it's kinda luck of the draw how affordable/worth it the second item is, and today it was bad luck. -shrug-

I had to skip 11 from 15 quests.

If you aren't aware, Alexander now asks for a Mystery Box item as his second item of the day.

The problem isn't the hoarding, really. These items aren't worth restocking (they're released, price plummets to below shop prices, none get put into rotation) so there isn't any supply in the first place. It gets run through very quickly by the initial questers and you're left with nothing but high prices.

It's one of those things that will balance with time. Next time Cavern comes up, people will have been restocking there as it's now worth it and the increase won't be so severe. We saw it when All That Glitters came into stock the second time, imo. And of course, you can pull items from the box today too. ;) I just pulled 5 items and made a 'profit' on each of them.

I didn't have much luck with the quests today either, had to quit half of them (managed to catch restocks for three others). He asked for one single item 3 times over, so maybe that could be looked at? Didn't request many/any of the head scarves.

I still don't see why it couldn't be totally random, but at least this makes a bit more sense, thanks for explaining. My problem isn't so much the profit, it's being totally unable to do quests as normal items are unlisted, but eh. Best wish for a better MB shop tomorrow. :)

I realize that the shop has a fairly small pool of items, but Alexander is only asking for an even smaller portion of those items over and over again.

If we have to deal with him asking for items from that small pool we should at least be asked for the full variety of items.

Practically all the items there are r55 (normal) and above. The higher rarity is certainly not going to help with the restock rate.

Cavern of Curios Restocked 22 minutes ago.

(This is after I did the quests, which didn't restock for at least 20 minutes before as well)

He has asked for the same inflated common items like 6 times now. Plus the rare/super rare books...

I don't like this mystery box item pool. Too easy to inflate the items.

What said. It asked me some books that are in user shops for more than 400k, plus the same 90/100k worth items from the cavern of the curious. I skipped 9 quests out of 15.

I really hate the second item how is tied to mystery box. does anyone use the mystery box? we have yet to see how awful library quests are on apothecary days, he asked for maybe 5 different items for me today from the Cavern of Curios and those items seemed bought out and a bit pricy.

I would also like to proffer that All That Glitters days are pretty horrific. I had a day where he asked for the same ATG item for three quests. This particular item had two for sale in shop search one for I believe around 55mil and the other for 99 mill. When it's not nigh unbuyable items it's ones that rarely restock and are 120k.

Really pathetic library quests today. Completed 5/15 All the 5 I did asked for the same item which was attainable from the pawn shop for the lowest price. The other 10 quests asked mostly for the same 3 items which are not in the shop and are totally overpriced in user shops (also not many user shops had them anyway).

It happened with another shop that had a lower quantity of items, forget which though. And yeah, when it's ATG is a terrible quest day for library too.

Not really enjoying this 2nd item change.

The 2nd item change is fine. The problem here is the pool of items. The second item maxes out at rarity 60.

Hence, inflation. Is he asking for the Ornate Red Bottle and Silver Hookah though? I think he asked me for the bottle. I guess they're significantly cheaper because they were some of the only things stocking there for years.

By the time I got to quests today I completed none of them. Every item he requested from CoC was 100k+ O_o'

Some days are better than others depending on which store he asks about. I think part of the issue is that there are just so few choices in Curios and a few other stores in question that it becomes an issue. I'd like to think it will even out now that people know about the issue and will have some purchases made, but it's worth keeping an eye on it to see whether it's working or not to add Mystery Box items.

It also doesn't help that the store restocks maybe once every fifteen minutes or so and doesn't add very many new items per restock.

I do think Library could use a kick to the RG, however. He's asked for this book at least five times in the last two days:

It's not just me, either, considering it's priced around 400k + at the moment.

I kinda like it like this, I like the variety on whether or not he's worth doing quests for one day to another. I like that he asks for higher rarity. I think this will settle down when CoC gets more restockable items, it's definitely a smaller pool to begin with, unlike accessorie bin or candy shack for example. And I think, like previously mentioned, this will probably sort itself out when people actually restock from the store in prep for the next time Mystery Box lands on that store.

[edit] I do think he should have a bigger variety of items asked for tho, like said, some days he asks for the same item several times. It's luck, but it still happens too much I think.

I'm not concerned about the second item so much as the fact that the books he asks for are skyrocketing in price yet AGAIN. I don't get why he is suddenly asking for super rare books; those are all over 100k and even the item he gives in return won't be worth what you spend on it. And there are a ton of rares now for over 100k too. The original reason Library got changed was to help with the skyrocketing price of books. I feel like this change did little to benefit that.

Maybe it was Freaky Friday last week and Alexander and Saggi switched bodies.

That could explain why Alexander's asking for insanely overpriced super rares while Saggi's asking for junk.
