A few days ago i adopted a pet from the pound that was level 40 with really randomly odd stats. He had 100 strength but 10 health/defense/speed. Is there a chance something happened to the stats when he was pounded? I think i read somewhere you lose 10% of stats if you pound or transfer a pet. Or did his previous owner just train really weirdly

they lose 10% of stats, so stats like that would have been from being weirdly trained. it could have been autotrained and then they decided to pound it for who knows what reason.

Pets only lose 10% of their stats over 1k. The pet seems to have been trained once then perhaps the user changed their mind and just dumped the pet in the pound.

If any of the pet's stat types is 2000 or above, all their stat types will be penalized 10 percent when transferred.

Someone probably either only trained strength or used their exp on the pet. It's not unusual to see that.

Thanks all. I have no idea why my poor love was so unevenly trained but i am working on fixing his stats. If 10% of his stats werent taken someone must have set out to train his stats that way x.X and nope it wasnt from battling and using xp xD he has no remaining xp points and with 10 HP i dont imagine him being worth battling with atm

Actually, by being at level 40, the previous owner was able to train the pet to have 100 in strength, 40 x 2.5=100. The only way to raise the pet's strength past 100 is to first raise the level.

So if you want the pet to have 200 in Strength, you'd divide 200 by 2.5 and find the minimum level your pet must be at is 80.

Most likely they gave up on the other 3 stats and decided to pound it rather than continue training. There was no penalty reduction. =)

Yeah I get that about the level, but who would train it to level 40 before doing the other stats at all? I just didn't know you needed to have a certain number of stats before the penalty kicked in

Cause you can't train a level 1 pet's other stats before raising its level first? :p

but to 40? I guess that sorta makes sense since the time does not go up until 50. I probably woulda gone to 20 or even 10 and just done things evenly

I can only assume the previous owner wanted the pet to have at least 100 in each stat, but got so burnt out from raising its level and then strength, that they just called it quits.

Yeah that's sorta what I assumed, someone started a battle pet then quit and pounded their pets or just quit on that pet. seems like such a waste though. all we can do is assume though lol

At the end of the day, at least the pet has a new home and a new owner who might raise them to be a fine battler. ^^

I think i found out why he was trained so strangely. He needed 40 levels, 100 strength and 15 intel to get to his next promotion at the job agency when i visited there. That is the only explaination i can think of but you are right Metroid i will be training him now with Baylie, Brax and Kaita. It shouldnt take too long to fix his stats :)

Actually, you only need 100 overall. So 25 in each stat. "Have at least 1 pet with an overall rating of 100 or more"

I remember what a bitch it was for me to try and get the 100 forum posts though. I was super anti-social then, and still somewhat am. xD
