Founders of the Valley A VIKINGS-ESQUE FANTASY RP

Always open! Apply whenever! Members, join the forum group OOC thread here

PLOT
After our lands were destroyed by a great drought, our weakened people have been scouring the land for an ample place to settle. After over a hundred moons and many failed attempts to find fertile soil, our party has been cut to a third. On this journey, we have lost mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters. We have lost children. Only one ship remains. The North is bitter but we've headed there, with no place else to go. Here we find a valley — north to a sandy shore and south to the whitest, highest mountains we have ever seen. Middle ground. The forests and plants are almost overwhelming and the air is warm enough to swim naked! Could it be too perfect? We'll make our village here and hope we may prosper for generations to come...
RULES
– I'd like to approve any characters before you/we start roleplaying. Obviously: no perfect characters, no god-like/overpowered/all-knowing characters, etc. – Be excellent to each other. No out-of-character drama! In-character is fine, but please make sure you follow the Subeta rules so you don't get yourself in trouble... – Be realistic. For example – don't randomly bring in a dragon out of nowhere. – No killing of other characters without consent. That being said: make sure that if your character fights, they don't dodge every single blow! (Again, be realistic. No perfect characters.) – 'Literacy' levels of all kinds are welcome. As long as you are creative and don't use too-terrible grammar, you can join. :-) – Characters may be any age. Younger characters may be apprentices under adult characters. – Multiple characters are allowed, but all characters still must be approved by me. – Note about magic: in this world, magic isn't performed by saying words. You can conjure fire, for example, silently – using only your will. Thus, magic is often harder to master. – Give people enough time to reply. I'd suggest waiting for 2+ other people to reply before posting another of your own, but do what feels natural. – Have fun!
Character Duties / Types of Characters
– Farmers (most common – everyone will have at least a small farm for their families, but 'farmers' will have larger ones to provide for the village) – Ship-Builders (designs and oversees the making of new ships) – Bakers and Cooks (provides prepared food for community) – Healers (using magic, herbs, other remedies) – Blacksmith (makes weapons, armor, anchors, nails, chain, farm tools, horseshoes, etc!) – Fletcher (makes bows and arrows) – Hunter (hunts in the nearby forests for the community) – Fishers (provides community with fish, oysters, mussels, etc) – Slaves or Servants (slaves are owned by someone and may have come from another land, while servants may be indebted to whoever they serve) Feel free to suggest. Warriors, mages, captains and crew(wo)men, etc are not included here because they must have practical jobs that they can do within the village. All able bodies are expected to help build homes. All able bodies are expected to fight when needed, as well!

[align=justify] My Characters Halli Geirrson – Full Name/Nicknames: Halli Geirrson, just called “Halli” – Gender: male – Age: 14 – Preferred Weapon: Fire Magic (mostly unproficient), otherwise uses a knife – Character Duty: Apprentice Healer, under Dagr Askmeyyr. Dagr often sends him to help others when he feels his apprentice work is done -- and so Halli will make himself busy helping plow, build, fish or shape metal (although his skill with these things varies…). – Appearance: Halli’s long hair is the color of the dry dirt his people left behind. Since coming under the care of Dagr, he rarely has it cut -- whereas before, his mother would make it a point to trim it every new season. Having been in a pivotal point of growth during the drought and near-fatal journey, he is slightly shorter than he had the potential to be. He is always carrying a burnt-black staff (taller than himself) given to him by Dagr, who claims it’s from a tree in a land far beyond this one. – Personality: Halli has the curiosity of any other young boy, but has a particular interest in magic and music -- and an affinity for nature. His curiosity sometimes causes trouble, but he tries to be as logical and responsible as he’s being taught to be. Since meeting Dagr, the young boy has matured greatly, going from being very bitter about his situation to appreciating his family. Loyalty runs deep within him.

Negatively, Halli often has a short period of conceitedness/pride when he learns new magic, but Dagr doesn't hesitate to knock some sense into him. – Biography: Coming from a family of farmers, Halli’s average day was spent plowing, harvesting, feeding, milking, or herding. He did the work as he was instructed but grew bitter at his father Geirr for his high expectations. Often, he would fall asleep underneath the front door where the freshest air came in and listen to his father tell his little brother, Mikir, all kinds of stories by the fire. Their mother Auda hated these tales -- she believed her children ought to be taught truth and reality above all things, and found herself often frustrated at the things little Mikir believed (for one, that he was the lost son of a god!). Despite Geirr’s skill to spin a yarn, he never hesitated to talk down on magic of all kinds.

As the drought began to affect their land and eliminate their livestock, a larger line was drawn between father and son. More responsibility and blame was placed upon Halli -- if the seed did not take, perhaps Halli had planted it wrong; if the sprouts had died overnight, perhaps Halli did not water them enough (but there was no water to give them). He began to despise his six-year-old brother who had no worries in the world except if his cup of cider had gone too cold. Halli would often watch from feet away as Mikir sat in their father’s lap and laughed at his stories, while his own stomach rumbled at the sight of the little bit of bread tiny Mikir had been given. And yet, through this resentfulness, the worst day of his life came when his brother fell victim to sickness. Halli softened with guilt, while Geirr hardened with anger.

It wasn’t until they were on the ships that he met Dagr the mage, who had been treating the many starving and sick passengers while the captains directed the crew to new lands. Halli, even though having been raised hearing about how inherently evil magic was, was fascinated with his methods. He made it a point to help Dagr treat their people, even when he’d fallen weak with famine himself. Halli had a way with the younger children especially -- although at the height of his own illness, he could barely speak to them in above a whisper. It was there, on the ships, that Dagr saw something in Halli (selflessness, curiosity, determination, perhaps a little stupidity) and took him on as an apprentice when they reached land. He’s learned little beyond how to conjure a fire, make mist, and call down birds from the sky, but each new day is an experience itself. – NPC Relationships: Dagr Askmeyyr, master mage and healer. Auda, mother. Geirr, father. Mikir, younger brother, deceased. Roki, the lone-ship’s captain. – Relationships with Player Characters: Open! – Any Pets: Dog of Jämthund breed, named Gyda, given to him as a puppy by one of the hunters. – Anything else?:

  • Auda, Halli’s mother, practices a small amount of magic – kept in secret from her husband. She raises bees (and had the largest hives in the old village) and has ways of communicating with them. She misses both of her sons (one dead, the other rarely seen and often too busy for her) terribly.
  • Halli has some experience cooking, as he’s often the one fetching and preparing ingredients for dinner (especially as Dagr is aging).

Randvidr Falkcron – Full Name/Nicknames: Randvidr Falkcron – Gender: male – Age: 30 – Preferred Weapon: Bow & Arrow (or Axe & Shield) – Character Duty: Fletcher by trade, but is currently mostly a Hunter – Appearance: Randvidr has such long hair that he rarely wears it out of a braid (like this). His left eye is so damaged (having gotten infected, following a simple scratch, after the famine took his village’s main healer) that he keeps it covered – somewhat hindering his hunting abilities. He always wears two arm bands: his own and Sylfa’s, as well as a necklace/pendant his lover had made for him. – Personality: Before his losses, Randvidr was full of life. Some might’ve described him as rowdy, joyous, carefree – even obnoxious. He laughed loudly, spoke with conviction, told impossible tales (but never claimed they were true in the first place) and often found himself giving away maybe-a-little-too-much of his own bread and cheese to strangers in need.

Now, without the joy of his family, Randvidr is all of reserved and quiet. He can often be found staring off (especially into the sea) or completing some task by himself. He still has a drive to help – he’s just far less vocal about it, and rarely weighs in with his opinion. This drive, in fact, may be one of few things keeping him alive.

He has extreme difficulty, now, forming attachments – but forms them very deeply when he does. He has a tendency to give nicknames, always remembering them better than real names, even when they’re terrible. – Biography: Randvidr grew up and lived in the same village his entire life. His father was a farmer, his mother a huntress. He found his own place in fletching: carving bows and producing arrows were tasks both exciting and relaxing. He’d made his own oak-wood (flimsy and ugly as it was) at the age of eleven, and used his extensive arrowhead collection – having started it at the mere age of five – to craft himself even flimsier arrows. Frustrated! he was, when he could not take down a squirrel, and then at his mother who was very amused at his craftsmanship the following evening. She took him to the village blacksmith the next morning to fit him with a proper bow, and it was here that he’d met the love of his life.

They did not love each other at first, though. Sylfa, the smith’s son, was as dark as the leather he tanned – his dead mother from another land – and had a chip on his shoulder about it. In fact, the very first time young Randvidr saw young Sylfa, he was being pulled away from another (bloodier) boy by his overly-strong father, who merely laughed at the sight of Sylfa’s broken nose. Unnarr the smith was all of delighted to take on Lúta the huntress’s son as an apprentice fletcher – but put him to work working leather and carving wood alongside his own son. Randvidr had not yet gone to sailing or raiding himself, and their village was terribly small – so Sylfa’s appearance fascinated him. The very first day of work together, Randvidr had commented (rather innocently) on it, and came home with a very swollen lip.

Just six months later Sylfa had taken a far gentler touch – sweet, affectionate. Three years later a great sickness took Lúta and Reistr, sparing Randvidr perhaps because he was always at the smith’s, and two years after that, Unnarr had fallen (honorably) in the summer raids. When they were both sixteen (Randvidr having made strides to the point of mastery in fletching, and Sylfa knowing almost as much as his father did about smithing) they had the responsibility of running an entire forge for the village. As small as it was, it was more of a challenge than they’d both anticipated, especially dealing with the grief of losing the guidance of adults. Still, with each other and their own skills, they scraped by.

Their fellow villagers thought little of their living together – after all, it wasn’t terribly uncommon for two men of the same (or similar) trade living and working in the same place, or to even love each other in such a way… as long as they eventually took wives and had children. Neither of them did – and it began to alienate them from the community, especially as the two returned from raids or distant trading with foreign, orphaned children. For eighteen years Randvidr and Sylfa smithed, and fletched, and loved – and then the drought, famine, and sickness came.

The first loss of Sunnifa (originally from a distant land where they traded mostly in silks and jewels) came especially as a shock, as she’d always been the strongest of their children and had dreamed of hunting and honor. Eyja the infant was clo

Hullo!!! I hope this is to your liking!! :)

Full Name/Nicknames: Rosalinde Gottschalk, Rose or Rosa for short.

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Preferred Weapon: Power to control ice, or create ice from the moisture in the air. If called for, she uses her bow and arrow she owns.

Character Duty: Healer

Appearance: She looks like the average "German" girl. She has fairly pale skin with blonde hair falling past her waist, rosy cheeks, small nose, and piercing blue eyes. Height wise, she is about 5 feet with a small frame. She normally wears dresses with a half apron around the valley, the clothes her mother made her bring, along with her mother's dresses. Her hair is generally in a braided crown to stay out of her face.

Personality: Rosalinde started out being a happy girl. After her parents passed away, she became much more serious, finding it to be rare to smile away from her siblings. She will come to people's aid at the call for help, as soon as she hears. Very protective of those she deeply cares about because she doesn't want to lose them as well. Loves to go on rides since that's when she feels happy and free a lot.

Biography: Rosalinde grew up in what we know as modern day Germany for a long time. She started this journey with her mother, father, and younger siblings. At some point during the journey, her parents died, leaving her with her brother and sister. After that, she became more motherly towards them, doing anything in her power to protect them both. When they come to the valley, she plans on setting up the perfect "home" so her siblings can be safe during the night.

While she was in her old village with her family, she find herself singing while her father played the rebec when they were all able to relax. She enjoyed sharing her family's music with guests who came over or the people who knew her family while she was growing up. Music has been part of her life during her happy times, along with her siblings. When her parents passed away, she tried to sooth Jasmin and Amal by singing a soft, melancholy sounding song. (About all I could come up with right now. I'll add more over time.)

NPC Relationships: Her younger siblings Jasmin (sister- 12) and Amal (brother-10)

Relationships with Player Characters: None yet.

Any Pets: Her horse, Freiheit, a pale Fjord

Anything else?: -When alone or working, she often finds herself humming quietly. She also sings lullabies when Jasmin or Amal can't fall asleep, or have nightmares. -She's a decent cook, making mainly soups and stews. -Speaks the common language of everyone (probably English right?) and "German". Mainly speaking "German" with siblings. Strong "German" accent.

(The German I'm talking about would be the area behind Denmark, or something of the sort. Does anyone know what language that would be exactly? Or is it just Germanic languages during this time period? I'm looking around but I'm not seeing a lot right now. :p)

[-viola] It's wonderful! I'd love to have you. Would you be able to include anything about her family? Mostly out of my own curiosity, but I'd also like to really develop the different families in the valley. You're accepted either way, though! :^)

Full Name/Nicknames: Arturo Ventura

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Preferred Weapon: Knives of any sort. Usually he has a butcher's knife. (No magic abilities)

Character Duty: Cook that focuses on baking.

Appearance: Arturo has the dark skin of tanned leather, it's rough and scared and he's obscenely hairy-with hair all over his chest, forearms, legs, stomach, back, between his thick eyebrows and small amounts on his chin. He also has long hair going down in thin, loosely formed dreads down to his hips in the color of seared wood. His eyes are a smokey sage green that stand out like tiny glass beads-something he used to put in his hair and might still be buried in there. He has a gold ring on his right nostril, and both his ears are pierced with black hoops. He's short, standing only at the height of 5'2" but he's dense (168 pounds) in the sense that he has broad shoulders and muscles to spare. Often times, he is seen in an old, fraying apron, clothes stained with mud, and no shoes or shoes so worn down that they might as well be off his feet.

Personality: Although his personality is dulled down for most towns people, at heart he is a fiercely passionate and playful creature. A social animal, he consistently looks for conversations and although they are sparing he's pretty idealistic so he still tries. He's also passionate. Not willing to yield for another's beliefs and wanting to fulfill his desires with tenacity.

Biography: Arturo comes from a long line of people who inhabited a coast in what is now modern day Latvia. His family trade was baking, a normal occupation for the Vatiste who weren't the most advanced (the biggest boats the could make couldn't survive a trip to scandinavia) but they were peaceful. That's probably why they didn't stand a chance when Arturo was only 11 and the, then thriving, viking ship came to burn down his home. He was taken as a slave. He refused to settle down even once on the way back to the viking town. He screamed and clawed and bit anyone who tried to come near. His people might have been peaceful but Arturo's anger wasn't. His anger was, although something that brought up the idea of death, probably kept him alive. Arturo's anguish showed that he wouldn't break through hard labor and it would definitely be a source of pride to see who could break him. By the time he had arrived it was already decided that he would work for the blacksmith.

Lief was a harsh man who had broken the animals brought to run his forge, his wife who had once been adventurous and independent, and his children who held fear instead of love for the greying rock of a man in their eyes. Arturo made the mistake of weak struggles and drawing blood on the blacksmith's hand when it came close upon their first meeting. From that moment on, his life was as close to hell as the boy could imagine. He woke up each morning with a fresh set of wounds and was lashed periodically throughout the rest of the day until he would go to bed only a few hours before he had to wake up again. Arturo was an errand boy for the blacksmith. He was not allowed near the weapons other then to deliver them, and he was never allowed in the workshop. He spent hours running between the houses in the towns and stocking ships before their voyages so it was highly unlikely that he would get time off but, he often snuck away to the Caftkestien house. They were the bakers in town, a position Arturo had once taken for granted, and although he never dared enter he would often simply sit on the wood pile behind their house. It was there that he found his way out of his hell when they were fighting one night about the drought and how they were to survive. Arturo watched the scene, knowing it was not his place to speak but that he couldn't listen to the words in detachment. This house was the only place he felt relatively safe with in this whole town and although he had no physical or obvious attachment to it from an outsider's perspective the bonds he had were enough to sacrifice what little sleep he was supposed to get in order to try and help. The next day he brought by weird breads he had learned from his childhood and was given a place at the shop due to the fact that they didn't require many of the endangered ingredients the family couldn't afford.

NPC Relationships: ~Lief Anders + Kai Anders + Egil and Ake Anders-employers ~Deik Caftlestien + Marina Caftkestien-the previous bakers in the town. ~Charint- General word for family in Vasti, he'll use it to refer to any of his 7 siblings, mother or father.

Relationships with Player Characters: ~Ragna- Best friend ~Magnus- Strained Acquaintance

Any Pets: Nope!

Anything else?: ~Probably not well liked in the town. Of course they need him to help make food but doesn't it seem a little suspicious that both of his previous masters died when they probably had the most food..? ~Obviously he did not kill them, the family was simply really old and couldn't survive such harsh times-much less the ocean. He cared deeply about them but that isn't apparent to a lot of people. ~Speaks a mix of english and Vasti (his native language) with a thick accent. ~I would definitely add something about how he knows/regularly interacts with the blacksmith and other bakers/cooks but i'm not sure if anyone else is going to want those roles so for now i'm going to leave that out :/

hope these are acceptable! i wasn't sure what the deal was with the leader position, so i figured i'd just put my character in as a contender.

– Full Name/Nicknames: Magnus Torvald – Gender: Male – Age: 25 – Preferred Weapon: Axe and Shield and a pair of knives – Character Duty: Blacksmith – Appearance: Magnus is a large man with broad shoulders and a thick chest. He’s very muscular because of his job as a blacksmith. It practically requires a person to be large in stature and build standing at about six feet even. He’s pale skinned with a square face and straight jaw. His eyes are a deep blue standing out against his pale skin and dark eyebrows. His hair is shaved on both sides with long dark hair running down the middle of his head and braided to keep it from flying everywhere. More often than not, Magnus is covered in soot from the fires. It practically covers every inch of his clothing by the time he goes home. There are several scars covering his hands and lower arms from mistakes as an apprentice. Thankfully, those mistakes no longer happen now that he’s a master. – Personality: Given Magnus’ size a lot of people see him as intimidating and he can be, especially when he’s carrying a shield and an axe. He uses that to his advantage against enemies, but at home, he’s a rather easy man to get along with. He’s relaxed and calm using his job to take out any anger he has. He’s smart, especially when it comes to money. He’s compassionate and cares very deeply for his family, especially his sisters. He’s loyal and would do absolutely anything to protect his people and his family. – Biography: Magnus has lived in the same village his entire life. He knows nothing, but these people. His parents owned a small farm, but he never wanted to be a farmer. He much preferred working with fire and iron. He loved the way someone could mold something into something else. It was fascinating, so when he turned thirteen, he took up an apprenticeship with the blacksmith, Leif Anders. He worked under him for a very long time and learned how to use a knives and axes in order to protect himself and his family as well as the village. Almost married a woman named Kaja when he was seventeen, but she passed away from a sickness leaving him completely heartbroken. He pulled through though and turned his focus on his job and his family. When the drought happened, he went out of his way to make sure his siblings ate before he even touched any food. They needed it more than he did. He was thankful when they decided to take their boats and find elsewhere to live in order to survive. Unfortunately, his parents didn’t survive the trip leaving him alone with his younger sister and brother. – NPC Relationships: Sister: Asta Torvald and Brother: Axel Torvald – Relationships with Player Characters: Strained relationship with Arturo – Any Pets: A large Swedish warmblood (horse) that is black in color and named Thor – Anything else?: Nothing currently. Will update when/if I think of anything.

– Full Name/Nicknames: Ragna Daven – Gender: Female – Age: 21 – Preferred Weapon: Sword and shield – Character Duty: Farmer – Appearance: Ragna is a petite woman of about five foot two inches with a lithe build. She has some muscle that she gained from her practice in swordsmanship. Her skin is tanned from hours working in the fields and helping to keep the farm up and running. She has hard, calloused hands because of this as well. Long dark hair hangs about her shoulders, but she tends to pull it away from her face. Ragna has dark eyes as well. – Personality: Ragna is a fighter. She doesn’t back down from anyone and refuses to let a man run her world. She’s incredibly independent and rarely asks for help, even if she knows she needs it. She hates relying on others and thus won’t actively seek out help. She’s very resourceful because of her independence and will find creative ways of accomplishing her needs. Ragna is smart, but not so much that she shows up everyone else. She can come off as being a stick in the mud, but Ragna does love to have fun when she isn’t working. She’s playful and feisty. She loves people and will spend as much time around people as often as she can. Ragna is ambitious, so she asked her brother to teach her to use a sword and shield that way she could protect herself. This also means that she wants to be more than just a farmer, but is waiting for the right moment to make her move. – Biography: Ragna grew up with a rather hard Father. He always pushed her and her brother to work harder and do better. Her mother left when she was four years old for another man in another village leaving her and her brother behind. Ragna never knew why she left, but it didn’t matter. She only ever needed her Father and brother. She was taught to work the farm from a young age, so that they could help when her Father needed it. This also meant that they could each run a farm on their own when they made the decision to finally leave their home. Given that she was so independent, Ragna wanted to learn to use a sword and shield. She wanted to be able to protect herself, so she asked her brother, Gunnar, to help teach her. He was reluctant at first, but realized that they could teach each other and thus would get better. This means that Gunnar and Ragna have a close relationship as siblings. Her brother married when she was fourteen leaving her alone with her Father. He died in a raid two years before the drought. She’s been running the farm since then, but is excited for this new opportunity in this new land. – NPC Relationships: Brother: Gunnar Daven and wife: Hilda Daven – Relationships with Player Characters: Best friends with Arturo – Any Pets: Two goats and two Swedish Ardennes horses that are used to help plow fields – Anything else?: Ragna has her sights set on becoming leader once they set up in this new land; she currently grows two crops: barley and wheat

This thread caught my attention so I had to jump at it! :) I can't wait to start! :D Also, I edited my character post, adding more to it. I still need to work at my biography because I'm a noob who can't think of a lot right now, so I'm still adding to that bit! :p

Take your time! We will absolutely wait for you. No rush. I ought to clean up my own character form...

After that -- what would you guys think about starting the RP? Is four enough? I also imagine we could start right as the valley is discovered. Camp would be set up and everyone would go about helping build/plant/cook/etc -- and interacting, of course.

[-viola] I love it! You aren't a noob <3

I can be! XD But thank you!!! <3 I think it would be cool as soon as they get to the valley! Are people going to room together? Or is it individual houses for families? Just wondering since for my character, it's my OC and her two young siblings. You know? Also, do you think I need to add to my bio? I'm still going to think about it and try to add more but I want your opinion. Is it too short? Or?

[-viola] [everyone] I've cleaned up my own character and rewritten a little bit. I'll be posting a starter soon, as I feel we have enough writers to get this going. I'm so glad you're all interested. <3 You might want to use this time to make any character connections with each other, if you want them.

Torvald is my favorite last name. Love the characters. Accepted!

[-viola] I think the camp will be relatively small. Some people will have to room together in tents like this, as not every family brought one, but it wouldn't be too crowded. Your character could definitely have their own tent for her family if you'd like. Feel free to add to her biography if you want - but it's fine. It might be easier to develop as we start writing. (I always find myself coming up with ideas long after I've been writing my character for a while!)

Okie-dokie!! :) Sounds good!! I'll think about the tent idea for my family or sharing with others. It'll probably depend on the relationships between other characters and so on. How many people per tent though? Like, how much do you think they can hold during the night before it's uncomfortable? Just curious. :)

I look forward to carrying this out with you all! I am so excited! Everyone's characters are so well developed! :) I hope we all have fun!!! :D

[-viola] [everyone] I'm working on a starter! I hope you guys don't mind it being relatively long (my starters are always longer than my following replies) and I don't expect the same length in return -- just think of me as "setting the stage", if you will. I'll be posting it either tonight or tomorrow.

[-viola] About tents - depending on the size, I'm thinking maybe 3-6 people could fit in a tent. More, if the people don't mind sleeping right next to each other. :P I added a 'settings' spoiler tab thing up in the original post, with another picture of a tent, for creativity reasons.

Also, if you guys have any suggestions, now or down the road, feel free to let me know. I'll be adding to the original post once a while as it is.

3-6? Sounds good. :) I cool with sharing a tent with a few characters if we need more spot for rooming. :) I saw the 'settings' spoiler tab. I'll let you know if I have any suggestions throughout the whole RP. :)

getting back in the roleplay scene, lemme know how i do

Full Name/Nicknames:Eira Rask Gender: Female Age: 23 Preferred Weapon: Anything with a blade will do, but she does carry an old broadsword. Can communicate with nature. Character Duty: Hunter Appearance: Tall and slender, but with the strength and muscles to take down a wild boar. She's strong but slow, born with a bad leg she walks with a limp. Eira's light blonde hair is roughly chopped to her chin, to keep it out of the way. Her dark green eyes always seem unimpressed or annoyed. Although she spends all her time outside, her skin is still as pale as the day she was born. She wears whatever rags she can move freely in, seeing no point in nice clothing when she's usually hunting. Personality: Not many people get along with Eira. She's hard headed, blunt and has been called selfish on more than one occasion. There's no way to get her to back down from an argument, even if she knows she's wrong. She isn't a talker, her actions speak for her. Things can easily annoy her, but she's trying to control her temper. Even though she's difficult to like, she's a hard worker. If she's not good at something, she'll still give it her all. Her family comes first, and Eira may not like everyone settling in the valley but she see's them all like family. Biography: No one believed the small fragile newborn would make it to the next season. But despite all the odds set against her and her disability, Eira fought to survive. She fought her whole life to prove herself, not to others but to herself. The need to prove to herself that she was just as good made her strive to be better. She started hunting with her father when she was 11, finally finding the confidence to accept herself. It was during her first hunt that she found her talent in connecting with nature. The trees told her where to step and where the animals went to rest. After that she spent more time in the woods, talking with flowers and tracking animals. At age 16 and after years of begging, Eira's brother, Vali, finally began training her. He thought her how to use a sword and how to stand up for herself. She put all of her energy in their daily sessions, determined to become better than her brother. Determined to become better than anyone. Vali and Eira were inseparable. Tragedy befell Eira and her family when she was 20. A sickness came and took those dearest to her, leaving her with Vali's children to care for. She lost her path since then, she no longer felt the urge to explore or push herself. Even the trees and flowers had a hard time speaking with her. The only reason Eira stayed on this earth was to give her brother's children a chance to live. After saying their goodbyes, they left their home to find another. NPC Relationships: Eira is currently the guardian of her brothers children, Two boys and three girls. Hagen (12), Destin (9), Eydis (11), Kari (7), and Signe (6). While she hunts, they tend to the farm and animals. When they do all their chores, she takes them hunting with her. They know that their mother and father died from sickness, they see Eira as their only mother now. But when they call her mother, she glares at them and leaves for hours. Relationships with Player Characters: n/a (be her frenemy pls thnx) Any Pets: None. But Eira does leave food for any stray animals around. She feels it's only right since she hunts them. Anything else?: Eira wishes to learn magic, but fears that she will fail. (probably will add more)

i want to make this better but it's totally past my bed time and i have work in the morning. please let me know if i should fix anything.

I'm mobile, so please excuse any mistakes in this post.

@ everyone (I'm sure the pinging is getting annoying, so...) I forgot that I'm going to a festival tomorrow (August first) ._. I will be gone all day! I might be able to push out the starter very late that night, but otherwise, I'm pretty sure the starter will be posted on Sunday. I'm sorry I have to drag this out. I hope you're all still interested then!

love the character! Accepted for sure.

Again, sorry for the wait, you guys.
