Maybe im still to new to the whole cw thing...a tad bit clueless even... but WHY make an item private? Dont you want lots of people to buy your things? Why can only certain people have them and never be able to trade it? Why make the price of them 234235234534534534 dollars. WHY MAKE ALL THE SUPER PRETTY THINGS PRIVATE.

WHY ARE TONS OF THE ITEMS I WANT FREAKING PRIVATE!!!!! ;__;

I just... cannot understand all this.

/end rant.

Forgive me.

Hi, my only custom is a private because it's meaningful to me, and it was designed to be the prize for a forum plot I did.

I know it sucks, but I'm the nutcase who spent 50$ on it. D: So no, I don't want it to sell and be popular. I want it to be meaningful to me

Some items were created for a personal reason and the creator/owner wants to share it with their friends. ;o; OR it's kinda like a thank you gift to people who usually buy and support the seller/artist Or there's a bunch of artist that collab with each other and wish their copy could be free/cost less so they auction the last copy for a high price. (Because it's hard to divide the profit if they were to sell it outside)

BUT I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND T__T It sucks when they're doing it mainly for profit...T_T SO MANY PRETTIES

LOL!!! That literally made me laugh out loud xD

I can understand that. I'm tripping over the fact that some people are doing it to make a huge profit off of it or for other crazy reasons. Your situation I understand and anyone else who makes an item for them that means a lot ^-^

I do understand the little gifts or making something that means a lot to them. But I know some are out there to make a huge profit and have people drool over what they cant have ;-;

And Yes... they have sooo many pretty things I cant have @.@ It.. hurts!!

I'll admit that sometimes there are really nice private customs that I would love to own and it cheeses me off. But then after a while I get over it. I mean, it is the right of the creator to keep the item private so I try not to get too bent out of shape about it.

My advice to you is keep them on your wishlist and frequently check trades/pawn shop. I've actually gotten quite a few private customs I wanted this way :)

See, I used to get frustrated with privates but when you see what some design auctions go for...you almost have to make a recolor private and auction a copy to even make back a fraction of what you paid for it, so if you can sell it for that price...why not?

You're right... It's just so hard seeing something and falling in love right away then see its private xD I dont get too mad, just frustrated everything I want is private xD

But that is a good Idea!! I will have to start making that a daily thing and hope for the best! Thank you! ^-^

You're right xD It still is painful... x.x

Oh, yeah it's definitely painful xD I have a WL of privates too, so I totally feel you. But I also own a few and I feel really happy to be included in the few groups that I'm in even though I don't really care about privates being super special exclusive or anything, it's not about the prestige or anything, I'm just happy to be included c:

That said, I don't know that I'd ever release a private item. I only have a few friends and I don't know that I could come up with something to appeal to all of them well enough to bother having a private made for that reason. If I can sell even a few copies to make back some of the cost, then that's good enough for me, even for items that are mainly self-indulgent /end wall of text lmao

Haha yeah there are some wonderful Private CWs out there. Most of the ones I find are backdrops that I absolutely adore! These are two examples XD

Actually, really quick, who originally carried the Suave Heels and Snowladies?

I agree, and I wish that at least the private ones were marked so I wouldn't add them to my wishlist only to realize I will probably never be able to own them.

The Snowladies were by or , I can't remember. The Suave Heels are released by (and she's rereleasing a shitload of colors right now on her thread. They need 7 slots filled for the batch to be submitted and some are sold out but you might be able to get in on a few)

Private status isn't supported by the site, so unfortunately there won't be a new marking added since it would have to mean that the site supports it

I kind of figured there would be anyway to do it, just because the site wouldn't be able to support doing it with their systems. I am more just saying for my own frustration I suppose, like if its private or a limited run or whatnot have a silver star icon on it instead of gold just to help with identification for users.

I don't mean like the systems couldn't support it or anything (even though yeah that would be a lot of work if staff had to go back and change old items) but like, the site doesn't endorse? (I cannot think straight rn so that still might be the right word) private items but in order to make a distinction they would have to be like "yeah ok we recognize that this item is private" and that would make it even messier tbh
