I've been noticing the price of SubQ invites (around 250k) + the cost of item in SubQ shop (170k+ average) and some items are dropping below that worth in shop search. I'm not really savvy on the economics here or why this could be happening, but at this point I have no idea why anyone would buy for the sake of collecting sets anymore, when everyone can just borrow a set from one person to get the achievement and just pick and choose items they want for wardrobe purposes. Of course, newly released sets will hold a lot of value initially, but by the time they are retired they are a waste of sp. Can anyone clue me in as to why this is happening? Is this intentional?

prices are never too stable on anything. once the sets retire, people will buy them all up and their prices will be high again. I think some new sets will be coming out soon if what said here is a hint.

SubQ items are in stock for far too long. Do we still have 2013 sets stocking in there, or they finally all retired?

EDIT: They all retired. The oldest sets are Cece Hound and Junko Enthralled, both are from March 2014

Yeah, got all the 2013 things retired. I don't want to retire the Cece/Junko until I get 1-2 more sets out (which might be soon ;)). I don't like retiring sets until I get a few new ones out or know a few are on the way because then the shop is just too empty and that's not good either. :|

Ahh if I could only go back in time and make it so that when you put an item in your wardrobe, it stayed there :)

You can get subQ from quests like Major Drills, Carl, and Maleria, which bypasses the cost of the subQ invite. That's probably why you see that drop.

I don't mind this, because I buy for my wardrobe while it's low.

Price has nothing to do with desire to collect though. Just because the prices are low doesn't demotivate people from completing collections (you can borrow even the most expensive subQ collections from people lending in the achievements forum as well).

It used to be worse with retiring collections. I rather like the pace subQ retirements are going at now.

Just as well you can't. Some of us would have untold thousands of items in our wardrobes by now and the servers would have a nervous breakdown every time we tried to change our outfits. :)

Once items retire, they go back up. It's just while they're available that some can end up going under price. I think the invite system helped a little, and the addition of the makeup designers since people have to choose between using their invites on those or on restocking. Maybe lessening the amount of random invites would help?

perhaps because nobody wants them? they may not be as visually appealing as intended, but that is very subjective. we have so many cheaper(some better) choices, some people just don't bother with them beyond collecting purpose. even when some quest ask for them, i just skip the quest because the payout is not worth the cost.

Don't we have this discussion once a year anymore? The invite amounts need adjusted as do the restocks and that doesn't necessarily mean killing the restocks.

It could be something as simple as adding in some kind of achievement and title combination for deleting so many Subq items to give some incentive to get them off the market. It would be an sP sink and get rid of the undervalued Subq items.

But hey, what do I know.

MY SPARTAN TEDDY NO.

it was already bad enough that it got deleted by staff TWICE.

seriously, this is the only valuable item I have in my wardrobe, everything else is junk.

imo, subQ should stay at most one year in the shop. It's not as bad now that it was with the 2013 line.

And yeah, some of the lines aren't appealing. SORRY LYRICAL, BUT NEITHER OF YOUR LINES SCREAMED "SUBQ" TO ME

ah well there's this thing called the 15k wardrobe achievement. Personally I want to buy all the active sets for myself just because I can, no explanation necessary. What more needs to be said?

I'll be honest, I've been here 3 years and have gotten one SubQ item from quests and I do them OFTEN. :/

I'm with , I don't think the super rare chance of getting a SubQ item from a quest is what is causing the drop. I often seen the visibly smaller items left over in the shop quite often now (the watch, pin, a bow).

That's weird. I don't quest often, but when I do, I get subQ fairly frequently. There's a whole board dedicated to Major Drills alone giving out subQ here, 16 pages worth and the board's from January. So there's definitely quite a few subQ items given out daily through questing. c: It's probably not the only reason prices are dropping, but it sure is a factor. Availability meets lack of demand because it's stocking at the subQ currently or it's not as popular an item and we have a bigger picture.

Maybe and I are just not doing Major Drills quests, because I know I don't. I find them tiresome and they are usually the only quests I avoid.

The Carl quests brag thread also has a bunch of subQ. And then there are the people who don't post when they get a subQ item.. I know I don't every time I get something. Just something to think about. :3

- Yeah, I don't do Drills or Carl very often. Perhaps the rate of their release needs to be tweaked some to be less prevalent.

Edit: Well, I did all drills and lost about 600k, and did all of Carl's and he at least didn't rip me off but I didn't get any SubQ from either of them. I really like your forum art :O
