The library quest will now ask for two items, one book and one item from the mystery box shop of the day. I'll probably change that to be a random shop that isn't well represented in quest items otherwise but for now this is the case.
sP prize has also been given a little bump :)
[edit]
The Book Nook has also had it's restocking pattern changed, and should see more books making their way into the shop :)

Any chance of resetting them so we can give them a run through? :)
Sounds like a good change!
good change. I suggest Carnival, Thimble, Music, and Beanbag as a few possible shops. :)
Go figure today's mystery box is ungodly expensive
Thanks for the update
Oh yes resetting them would be nice since I have done all my quests for today :(

I hope this helps. The books have gotten so expensive that the quest dont really justify the cost. More inflate each day thanks to them not stocking in the booknook as often
Yay!!! Thank you Keith :)

Exciting development, but it really is a horrible day for the start of the mystery box-based item selection. Hope to see the alternative item selection system brought in soon.
Why was the second item added? Not complaining (although ugh, it would have to be All That Glitters, lol), but what's the benefit?
This does nothing to sort out the ridiculous prices of books which don't restock as they should.
Mostly to keep sP moving around. :)
I'm working on that as well :)

I actually think All That Glitters is the perfect representation of why this is a good idea. Look at the prices of items when you quest: they're notably below the restock/pawn shop price, resulting in a more stagnant economy. It's important that these items are being demanded somewhere or the stock just sits there.
And Alexander gives the best rewards, too. I completed 9 quests out of 10 (my limit is 75k) and received 4 super rares, 3 rares and 2 normals. I broke even in sP and made a steady 650k in item rewards, which is actually a typical haul for me.
I did not complete all Quests, actually only 5 of them, I got a sP profit of around 30k and 4 Super Rare and 1 Rare Items worth ~300k, which isn't too bad at all. I might give this new idea a few days before saying more about it but so far it looks like a pretty nice change.
Okay yeah, this is a good point. I've noticed that if I can make a profit on something by selling it to the Pawn Shop rather than putting it in my shop, there are too many of that item around :)
Is there any chance that the librarian-quest giver will get a revamp so he looks cuter like the new revamped Ontra?!
