I mentioned this in the news post for the , but I wanted to expand on it a little more. There are some pretty awesome experiments, and I'm sure we all have a favorite (or several favorites) that we'd love to see in other colors, but the only other options we have are scribble and chibi.

What if we could vote on an experiment (or several) to turn into a real pet? You could build up an entire event around it, like we had with the Subeautique designers a few years ago. The winning experiment(s) would be revamped (if necessary) and released in all the basic colors (sun, field, etc.), with the promise of more special colors in the future (sweetheart, etc.)

You could even have a secondary contest to pick species names for the winners. Players could submit their suggestions, the staff thins the list down to a set of acceptable names, and then we get to vote on our favorites?

The one big issue I see is that some of the experiments already have "special" colors, like the is basically already reborn and the is steamwork. You'd have to figure out what the common color should look like, and that could raise all kinds of debate.

It could still be a lot of fun though. And who doesn't want to see Euclid construct a massive zapper beam deathray to blast all of Subeta? Oh yes.

I think it could be interesting to have a contest for a pet design as opposed to revamping a current one. Users or staff -- whichever -- could spot up ref sheets or sketches and the userbase could vote. The end result would still be a pet given by the zapper, and one that can be made specific colors, but it wouldn't cause a revamp of current Experiments.

Essentially, though, we have a cash shop-exclusive pet, so why not a zapper-exclusive one? Much like the cadogres and their toys or the escalades and Calvin.

I do see an issue with having really close votes, though. Like the top two pets just everyone wants, you know? That could be an issue.

In all seriousness, no. I really like the separation between experiments and pets. I'd love to get a third robotic pet, though, and it would be cool if it was zapper-exclusive

I really like this idea in theory, but I know it would probably be something cutesy and I don't want that (yeah I'm going to rain on everyone's parade just because I don't want a cutesy pet to win :P ) Though I have to say an experiment would be awesome if it came in other colors (it's the clock-faced owl, I'm too lazy to get a picture)

- Not gonna lie, I'd totally be impressed if someone managed to get that camel to win. Imagine those poor artists drawing straws to see who would get stuck with that mess. D:

We had two zapper pets... both of which everyone hated (Swampie and Darko). I don't feel like having a new one would be very eventful? It'd either be super rare and everyone would hate it because the zapper is an asshole (see every experiment ever before the change) or it'd have to be super common and everyone would hate it (see Swampie and Darko).

So a huge no thank you for zapper only pet.

Unless, unless, Euclid found a scientifically magical means of creating a elixir for a specific experiment that is just too perfect to try and zap for because it's DNA is so swag you can actually potion it (ie: he probably accidentally zapped an elixir or something lol) and he'll sell you one for like x million (depending on how cool it is... heed all suggestion boards and how badly users want specific things that don't exist) so you too can own your very own Doritodon... er, Euclisaurusatcle.

That I could get behind, but no to new zapper only species because it didn't work the first time.

I wouldn't really like to see experiments become new pets because I'm greedy and I'd actually prefer to see the artists make NEW pet species opposed to turning experiments into real pets. I wouldn't mind seeing experiments becoming potionable by other colors though (especially the few that work like chibi.. nostalgic, for example).

I really like the experiments the way they are (although I do hope more chibis are released, especially 76166 and 810), and I kind of feel like we don't need a zapper-only "normal" pet when the zapper is the only way to get most of the experiments.

I'm not adverse to THIS now. I like Euclid and would enjoy seeing his massive zapper beam deathray. >X>

Oh goodness, I forgot all about Swampies and Darkonites. (I think I blocked them out of my memory.) So yeah, that's been done.

Haha I think a lot of us did. I sat here for a minute like "Yeah a zapp only pet.. wait, why's that sound familiar... oh... right.." xD; Not to say either pet is that ugly really (I've always liked Darko's in theory) but I actually think the zapper ruined them both for me.

So I really couldn't get behind repeating that and expecting it to end any differently. And destroying half my inventory in the process r___r;

I don't know. On one hand this would be totally rad, but on the other hand I do like experiment pets being separate. I mean I would LOVE to see the 0101 or 8001 in colors like reborn and nightmare, but I'm also pretty pleased with the way they are now c:

Exactly. I even think Swampies are cute, but I got soooo sick of getting them all the time :P Can you even get them through the zapper anymore? I don't think I got either one since the "one true zapper" took over. I guess there are still elixirs though.

YES WE NEED MORE CLOCK OWLS. Although I still don't have a chibi one... need more pet slots :P

I finally have a pet that fits one, now I just need the zapper to behave (which let's face it is never going to happen). The chibi is super cute though @

I do like Darkonites, but I also never used the original zapper which I think is the one that handed them out all the time? So :P

I just really like the idea of voting for a new species, color, whatever in some way. It sounds like fun. :D
