I don't like how everything is becoming edible.
I have a pet whose character is too eat everything, and I intend one day for him to eat one of everything edible on the site. So I made his treasures things that look like food but he can't eat. Only now they are becoming edible.
Point 1) I don't understand why things like plushies and clothing are becoming edible.
Edible plushies:
Avocado Plushie, Broccoli Plushie, Lemon Plushie, Patchwork Ice Cream Plushie, Pearasaur Plushie, Plush Fruit Bunch, Potato Plushie, Squishy Cherry Plushie
Edible clothes: The Eddie Bell Kebab and Sweet Tooth lines. (Vegetable earrings maybe too) I always thought of them as clothes based on food not made of food.
Point 2) It seems a lot of new items are being made food and wearable. It feels like a strange combo. I can understand weapons being wearable as you would hold a weapon.
New food/wearable examples:
Bag of Saheric Spices, Koi Fish Carved Watermelon, Dancing Chai Blooming Tea
It feels a bit like trying to limit the number of items by making them multi-purpose
Point 3) The Universal Remote seems a very strange thing to be edible
examples?

- I updated the OP with examples.
Thanks! Sorry - Wasn't trying to be rude... I was shoving a sammich in my face as replying and one word was much easier than sentences :p
I have to agree - can you shed some light on why plushies are being made edible?

- now worries honey I didn't take it rudely ;) Plus it helped me think and add some other stuff to the OP ^_^
As a user with a slight treasure chest obsession I LOVE that Wearables now often get other item images than the Wearable itself and if that does mean said Wearables are also Food or whatever else I can easily live with that...and my Gourmand Pet, too.
My dog ate the remote once (though It did result in a trip to the vet), and plushies left within his reach were gonners, so I can see those being edible, at least as a joke. Certainly no more odd than all the puss and poo food items.
The plushies and the remote are weird. As for the wearables, I'm fine with it (not the SBQ line though).
But what if pets don't know they shouldn't eat them?? You can't help their IQ okay yes you can. :O
jk I think making plushies or clothes edible just because they look like food is pushing it. I agree.
I don't understand the food inconsistencies. That bothers me more than too much food.
Why are the antique coffee sets such as edible/food, but the dinnerware from Esther's such as aren't?
I understood when it was said years ago, that books will never be wearables (again) because they are meant for reading and not for displaying the books contents on the HA or whatever the reasoning was.
But why on earth are you now making wearables into food (and plushies etc as well)? I never got that point and it is really starting to bother me. So I'm totaly on 's side here with point 2 and 3.
[Edit]
We realize that some older plushies are edible, and we will make the rest of that line edible but we will not be making any newer plushies edible. It's similar to the way old old books are wearable but no future books will be made wearable. We are keeping the option on those older plushies because a number of people have fed them to their pets and it would be unfair to take that option away now.
I think none of them should have been edible but oh well
Sorry bout that ping bad copy and paste (and fixed the quote]
I am highly amused by all the eatable stuff.
About oints 2 and 3, what does logic and reason have to do with anything? Subeta is a game. It's not really harming the function of the game, and it's not like Subeta isn't weird already.
As far as the book/wear thing maybe it was sensible back in Reading Drive days, but now that that is gone, maybe it should be re-visited. I've seen recently complaints that books are too cheap and too expensive, maybe some bookwears in the middle will make absolutely everyone equally complainy.
Because wearables are not essential to something. They're just a collectable, while books are also used for battling, due to alchemy points.
Also, Patchwork Ice Cream was a food before being a plushie, because it was renamed to Patchwork Ice Cream Plushie! I won it from Trivia a long long time ago.
I roflmaoed
There is still the AP problem, though!
All three of these items are items you can actually eat or drink, so if staff cut down one use, I'm pretty sure "food" wouldn't be the one to go away.
It was probably easier to make that whole line of plushies edible than to take already eaten ones off of gourmand lists and deal with achievements being inaccurate and all that. The in the OP isn't actually a plushie, and the rest of the edible plushies are all older, it looks like.
I really don't mind food/wearable combinations because it makes for some nice TC options instead of having to release a bunch of additional items that are just trinkets for TCs (and having wearable items get shafted as far as attractive CIs go. There's only so many "folded up clothing item" item images you can have before it gets extremely dull)
^^^ what said RE: plushies.
Wearables are being made edible when the item itself is food-based. There are a lot of older wearables that are edible, off the top of my head this vintage beaut comes to mind:
The items that are things like tea sets we edible based on if they're meant to actually have food in them. A cup filled with tea should be edible vs. an empty mug wouldn't be. I'm sure there's some that might not line up perfectly with that, but that's our rationalization for those truly less edible looking items.
I mean it IS a universal remote.
best answer ever A+
Poor dog. Is that him in your post, Turokai? He's adorable!
By the way, lull, those plushies are fruit, so...

I agree that the plushies are pushing it, but they were done only because a long time ago, a few of them were made edible. So it was an 'even the score' sort of deal to make the whole line edible. I think the remote was done to fuck with people.
As for wearable items being edible... If the item art is clearly food, why shouldn't it be edible ? You don't have to feed them to your pet. If you look at a watermelon and go 'nah, that's not edible at all' then that's you. Others may get down and dirty with it. No, no gentlemen do not cut a hole in it THAT IS NOT WHAT I MEANT. Users have generally loved the versatility of wearable items having differing item art because not everyone wants the wearable and it gives us the chance to be excited over the same thing. Not a wardrobe collector ? Here's food. Don't want that shirt ? It's still perfect for that pet TC. Versatility is greatly loved.
Meanwhile, as cheap alternatives come along I am going to continue my way to the achievements.
