go here and click on 'your gifts' button to open your gift!

To the best of my knowledge none of the gift boxes go to your inventory anymore. You should be able to retrieve your gift(s) here: url=http://subeta.net/explore/gifts.php/gifts[/url]

For an opened gift it will have a link that says "Open" underneath the gift box image and time marker... The page keeps a record after you've opened and you can go back and view the message later. It will have a link then that says "View"... It will show the items you received with your gift too but you shouldn't get them again, after your initial redemption of it.
