Two main disappointments with this years Menagerie releases
beanbags = 5 minions = 5 plushies = 5 books = 7 stickers = 8
wearables = 130!
I kinda think that speaks for itself but for further elaboration I am disappointed by how few non clothing items there are.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but none of the new wearables are jewelery nor make up (or facial hair). This is not as disappointing as point one but is worth noting.
- yes, and yes again. Too many clothes, not enough of anything else.
Will also add something I mentioned on a different thread, I was hoping for more items in the Lounge..
sigh
I agree. I mean, I understand that HA are a big part of the site, but this is ridiculous. I was really looking forward to more books. And I agree with as well. There was a disappointing lack of items in the lounge.
This issue was mentioned on 's topic, and mentionedth at they were working on releasing fewer, higher qualityi tems, butt hey had a backlog of items from last year.
Im sadden by the lack of books in wave 2 & 3.
Wow I didn't even notice there wasn't any jewelry this year :( Yeah I was surprised to see how few collection items there were this year as well. Tone down the wearables next time, guys. Please.
still disappointed at the lack of lounge items
idk, personally I kind of like not having to make three hundred trinkets just to get the collectibles and then have to make three hundred more to buy a handful of wearables. I get that it's boring for people who don't care about wearables, but if you're into both collecting and wardrobe it's actually kind of nice.
Or maybe that's just me.
At first I was pretty stoked that I only needed so many trinkets to get the beanbags I needed. But now I've earned over a thousand from just accepting dances and its like, "Right, well thats me sorted for 2 years"
I know people want wearables, but there has to be some sort of balance because for those of us who don't care about wearables, we have no reason to partake in events. Which is one of the biggest reasons people log in during events...to take part.

I agree with , there should have been jewelry. The second and third wave offered nothing but clothing, which isn't the point of the waves to get people to spend more trinkets? Well spend I did not, because I'd rather have books, jewelry, than weird misfit clothing pieces that aren't even sets. I'm sitting on a fat stack of trinkets with nothing of interest to spend them on. Atleast I'll be ready for next years stock rolls eyes

I'm happy they got last year's backlog of items out, as the site had already paid for the art. Going forward I think wearables should not feature as prominently unless they are more unique. This is an event about dressing up in elaborate costumes and should reflect that. For instance I loved the Portraits and their related items. I wish it was ALL items like that, even if there are far fewer of them. I was very disappointed by the lack of jewelry, but I am pretty much every year. And there wasn't a single background.
Basically, event shops should not have multiple recolor sets.
The gauze sleeves from last year are actually something that come in really handy to me, all the time and I wish there were actually more colors of those. Not necessarily in the Menagerie, because then it would be flooded but I wish there was some way to get out recolors of all these useful items that have come out in 5 weird shades that are hard to work with (Peka-boo bandeaus especially!!).
I would love to see more items like the portraits in the future but we do definitely need the small recolored items too.
I was disappointed too, I wanted more TC items for my Victorian/Steampunk ghost pet, but the most I might be able to use are the portraits. Maybe.
I would have loved to see some rings, necklaces, anklets... any new jewellery, there's so many ideas they can do with steampunk... I'm fine with there being only 7 books total (as a person who needs many copies of each book a fair set number is fine with me) but I agree fully with everything.
As much as I'd have liked to see more than just one set each of plushies and beanbags, masquerade is still very much a "dressing up" holiday, as far as I'm concerned. Just about everyone makes the effort to put together a fancy dancing outfit, even though only the mask is required. It would be nice to see a bit more variation in the type of wearables released, as everyone else has said, but for menagerie releases to be rather clothing heavy is expected.
I also love the recolours! Recolours for everything! Menagerie clothing is often some of the most interesting and versatile (not to mention accessible) on the site, and having multiple colour options massively improves the HA making experience. If anything, I mourn the days when some menagerie items would come in about ten different colours, rather than only five.
I think recolours are fine for things like sleeves as long as they match other clothing items on the site. What gets annoying is when there are five or six recolours of a skirt or top which don't go with any of the other clothing released in the Menagerie or anywhere else for that matter.
I love the portraits and hope to see more items like this in future along with two or three skirts, tops and sleeves which are designed to match other clothing already available. This would then leave more room for books, plushies, toys and TC items.
I'm definitely on the side of "at least some recolours". I frequently find items with a silhouette or texture I like, but the colour is hard to use or I don't like it, so having options is great. And more "staple" items (undershirts, sleeves, gloves, etc) should always have a couple recolours because they're going to be reused in a lot of different outfits.
