Chapter 1 – DÃse

“Kwadjan.†DÃse greets you friendly as you meet her at the Asgardian portal, next to the smithereens of the rainbow bridge. Now that you can see the mess for yourself, you come to realize the great importance of your mission. It seems that… what… 20 pieces are missing between the two ends of the Bifröst? “To a greater or lesser extent.†The immortal woman by your side nods as if she has read your thoughts. Maybe she has? You ask her what to do next. Was there any hint where to start such an epic quest? There was more than just one realm, so… what are the odds that they will find all of the splitters in this parallel dimension? “Good point.†She smiles while fondling her wolf pelt. “I’m already ahead of this. Heimdallr, the Gate Keeper, saw the last bit flying in the direction of Sionan, a river goddess that desecrated the secret source of knowledge and was therefore banned into spring water. Don’t be afraid. She’s mostly pleasant-natured. And maybe she saw something that helps us find the next piece of the rainbow bridge.†You agree to that plan when DÃse takes a huge step between you and the copper dimmed portal. “Just a moment. I wonder if you want to change your clothes before we visit Sionan? It’s a long trip and I’m not sure if your current outfit is… well… enough for all intents and purposes that might cross our track.†You wonder who or what she meant with that intent, but don’t want to argue with your guide. She seems like she knows best, so you head to a little mudroom nearby. Time to get started!

Note: Your chara may have ONE animal companion for the journey. And yes, I’ll count dragons, spirits and demons as animals. If you wear it, it’s automatically part of your RP “backpack†and you can use its help later on. If you don’t wear the companion in your submitted avatar then you won’t have the chance to “pull a rabbit out of a hat†if needed. Seems logical, right? You only own what is visible.
Questions will be answered in the OOC topic here. Have fun!

Most people would describe Irith as cute and helpfull. Best known for her skills with her herbs, people often go to her when they need medical help. What they don't know is that she has a whole other side, that comes out when she goes hunting with her companion Zarith. It's a side she won't ever show to the people she cares about, afraid of being rejected by them. Irith always had a problem with her self esteem. Even though people told her that she was amazing, she never truly believed she was. She was always looking for more ways to feel better about herself, but whatever she did, she always believed she hadn't done enough. One day, while hunting with Zarith, she decided that she wouldn't return home. She wanted to go on an adventure, wanted to learn more about herself and most importantly wanted to find a way to feel better about herself.
Note: English isn't my first language either, so it might contain errors. Also I hope my HA fits the theme good enough lol

Elethia was a descendant from a long line of healers and lived a somewhat quiet life in a quaint hamlet village. She quickly grew bored with life there and would venture out whenever the urge would strike her. Many adventures awaited her in her journey and no matter where she went her trusted sidekick Mr. Scoots was always nearby. While she was known for her mischief and mayhem, she did excel (somewhat) in the magic arts.Bored out of her mind with the summer season ending, she heard a strange whisper in the air. Curious about anything out of the ordinary she set out in pursuit to figure out where that voice came from. Mr. Scoots yowled his complaint to her that she was walking too fast and she had to pause in her steps to pick him up and carry him the rest of the way. Lazy cat. Little did she know that following that voice would lead her into a grand adventure that she would never forget....

His Name was Rashid ibn Omar ibn Ishmael, but ever since the Vikings had taken him for a prisoner of war, he went by Rashid. His capturer weren't cruel, they simply didn't let him go home again. Once he had accepted that fact, his life was pretty easy. Now they had sent him onto a mission to help the gods, with the promise of his freedom. Rashid donned his amor and took his sword with him, as well as his hunting Falcon which was said to be a spirit of fire.
( It still eats the eyes, even though they appear on the item list when I click the outfit :c)

The magician Howl was less than thrilled with the current turn of events. When the message from DÃse showed up at his castle, he hadn't wanted to go. Sophie wasn't away this time, after all, and he didn't like helping people without getting something in exchange. But Sophie wasn't as selfish as he, and she'd coaxed him into going along with this bothersome quest. She could be terribly persuasive when she wished to be, and he'd found himself agreeing to help before he realized what she'd done. Clever woman -- too clever, sometimes, but it wouldn't be the same if she wasn't. So he, together with his fiery friend Calcifer, had set off to complete their task as quickly as possible, and then return home.

It was so nice to be back in Asgard for Mjrn, it has been forever since she had seen her homeland. For Kathryn, this was an entirely new experience. Mjrn was a previous protector of the realm of Asgard and got herself stuck in quite a mess beforehand... Although because of that mess is how she came to meet Kathryn.

It was just like every other day, Mjrn was up before the crack of dawn energetically stretching and training while her partner Valnyr lazily rolled over in her bed trying to ignore the world. The two of them were colleagues and sisters-in-arms who always worked together at the same guard post. Little did Mjrn know, she was about to experience an extremely abnormal day, nothing could have prepared the warrior for what was to happen.
During the morning patrol Mjrn stopped and squinted at the path ahead of them. "Valnyr do you see that weird tear in space? By Odin's great beard what is THAT?" Before Valnyr could give her colleague an answer, Mjrn with her sword and shield in hand approached the weird rift. Poking the rift lightly with her sword, Mjrn turned to her colleague with a big grin accross her face. "PFT! To think I was worrIIIIIIEEEEEEEED....!" Next thing you know Mjrn was no longer there. Valnyr panicked at the sudden disappearance of her sister as the dimensional rift closed behind Mjrn, leaving no trace.

Kathryn always hated her annoying cousin Amalia. Even more when the instructor, Amalia's mother clearly shows obvious favouritism to her daughter. They attended the same ballet academy as long as Kathryn could remember, and she works just as hard as her cousin does. Kath never gets as much attention as her cousin. As a revenge for humiliating her publicly last week, Kathryn decided to kidnap Amalia's dog.
Just as Kath was dragging the dog across the streets while taking some selfies, she felt a strong wave of air brushing past her. Her cellphone dropped to the floor and the next thing she knew, her face was covered with mud (and gross dog drool because the dog was licking her face) in a strange land.

Mjrn looked up from where she landed flat on her stomach. "Ugh..." Before the extremely tough and durable warrior could whine more about her pain or predicament, Mjrn was suddenly crushed by Kathryn who came through the rift behind her. "Sister? As happy as I am to see you... Do you mind getting off my back...?" Mjrn joked for a moment until she realised it wasn't her sister Valnyr that came through the portal behind her but someone else. "WHO ARE YOU?! HOW DID YOU GET THROUGH THE PORTAL?! GET OFF ME!" The Asgardian flailed and panicked as she tried to get out from under this unknown individual. Once they were both on their feet, Mjrn tried to calm herself as she looked to the girl who seemed to be put through the same predicament. "AAAAAAHHHHHHH MY MAKE UP HAS BEEN RUINED!!" Kathryn screeched and collapsed onto the ground once again.
The ballet dancer and proud warrior were now stranded in a foreign land. Where this land was was a question on both their minds. After Mjrn held a local farmer hostage for information, the two discovered they were now in a remote location in the middle of Northern Russia. To Mjrn that location meant nothing until she found out she was somehow brought to a place called "EARTH" Otherwise known as Midgard. With all the luxuries of home now out of the question it became time to adapt and deal with their new lives. Things sure got interesting, the 2 women had such different backgrounds and now had to live with eachother. After a while the two of them formed a weird symbiotic relationship where in order to survive they we forced to rely on eachother. Kathryn claimed she was the brains and Mjrn was the brawn, but in reality Mjrn had to do everything since Kathryn at times refused to lift a finger because she'd get dirt under her nails. Forming a tribe, as they called it in the north, under the name of Etain, their emblem was that of a husky sitting next to a wolpertinger. After a year of hard work the pair had made a name for themselves aiding the people in nearby towns and villages making it easier to get by and afford small luxuries that meant getting through the day a lot more enjoyable. (By no means the luxuries Kathryn was used to). Even still both of them hoped to one day return home.

Mjrn was so excited to be home, before Dise could get them to prepare for the adventure at hand the Asgardian knelt, kissed and caressed the ground. "Kathryn! I can't believe I somehow made it home! It may be in ruins! BUT I'M HOME!" Bouncing with energy and joy Mjrn turned to Dise. "I COULD HUG YOU RIGHT NOW! I know I will do ANYTHING, and I mean anything, you need to help restore the Bifrost!" Kathryn petted her cousin's dog on the head, "And hopefully I will be able to return home as well, I could use some new clothing and decent food. I don't mean my current clothes are bad but they are so old and probably out of fashion for like about a week. Oh the horrors!"

Cuinn - Self Taught Sword-Wielder
A "friend" of Cosima's, both having bonded over their fascination with swords during what started as a mugging and then turned into a lively conversation.
Though "bonded" could have been described as too strong of a word, as it's more accurate to say that Cuinn decided to tag along with her on a few journeys between towns and fill in as a sparing partner whenever able. Cosima having more formal and honorable combat training than him, he found it worthwhile to spend a couple of weeks learning (or leeching off) what he could from her.
Having suggested that Cuinn could learn more from attempting some sort of quests, Cosima directed him to consider helping DÃse with this mission.
Without much hesitation or forethought, Cuinn decided to try proving himself with the challenge.
I'm using my girl from last year with a new look XD

Once, long long ago there lived (and still lives) an queen who ruled over a floating city at the edge of the world. She ruled over a vast city, protected by hall walls and a golden gate above and below by a raging river so board and deep none could cross. This was the Land of the Immortals where she ruled over life and death. Time passed quickly - a thousand years could feel like only six months or less. The subjects within the walls did not age did not die and lived peacefully, free from the fear of Death who had no power in this noble Queen's kingdom.
The Queen herself, fair Amarantha (Amara for short) was of a different breed. Her power even outside of the walls was equal to Death: he could not touch her. In boredom, often would she walk through the world to see what had changed. Always with her would be two vials, filled with enchanted water. A silver one with water that could kill a man with just a drop and a gold one whose droplets restored life.
But for all her glamour and freedom, she often felt alone. Occasionally one would make it to the city and join them, but after thousands of years even the dearest of friends become mundane. Once a prince did come to join them. After living for 1000 years with them, he left once and almost did not return. But time has changed him as well and he no longer desires her company.
And thus she has journeyed forth once again in search of something...
[NOTE: This character is from the story "The Prince Who Would Seek Immortality"; I added some things of my own in (so she wasn't flat') & gave her a name. The city, the time issue, the vials, and the prince are all original parts of the story. The name Amarantha was chosen because it means 'unfading']
Orphans R Us
She braided daisies into her hair. She made a wreath of wildflowers, and even had enough time to fashion herself a whole new petal dress out of the budding springtime flowers. Usually, there would be a human or two for her to fool with her magic, but no villager had come by the forest yet. She could not even satisfy her urge to run about in the endless fields outside her tribe’s neck of the woods; she burned too easily. The flaming sun hung right overhead, a clear indicator that it was already noon. The pixie fidgeted in her leafy boots sighed as she flopped herself onto a mushroom. “Gilberrrrt, is there nothing to do?â€, she whined to her frog friend. “There is always something to do for those who can find it, Talwynâ€, came her companion’s curt response. “Come on, Gilbert, don’t be a drag. Help a buddy out.†pleaded Talwyn. The only help the frog gave was a noncommittal grunt. He seemed perfectly content with soaking in his murky puddle. The pixie gave up begging, and was about to use her magic to lift Gilbert out of his puddle when she heard the crackling of fallen branches. The frog instantly leaped out of the water, tense. “Who’s there?â€, Talwyn yelled, prepared to fight. “Kwadjanâ€, a friendly voice greets. The owner of the voice gingerly stepped out of the shadows and into the little clearing. Talwyn sensed the stranger’s aura to be that of a human, but it was certainly not that of a usual human’s. It seemed more...timeless, somehow. The foreigner then began introducing herself. “My name is DÃse, and I need your help. Bifröst needs...reconstruction, to say the least.†This piqued Talwyn’s interest. “How can we help?†The pixie blurted without thinking. “Talwyn! You cannot just run off on a wild adventure, your parents will worry! And what about your studies, you can’t just run away from them!†Gilbert fretted. “Studies, schmudies. They can wait. I am already of age, so I do what I want. I’ll get word back to the tribe that I will be on a voyage and won’t be back for a while.†With that, Talwyn enchanted a nearby bee. It fluttered off in the direction of her tribe, bearing her message. The frog sighed. “Well, I suppose I’d better accompany you. Arausio knows you need a level head to keep you out of trouble.†Talwyn smiled at Gilbert. “The more the merrier.†The pixie then turned back to DÃse. “We’re ready.â€
((I got a little carried away writing this, haha. I hope this is good enough for a backstory, but if not, please let me know. FYI - Arausio is a celtic water deity, according to wikipedia cx ))

He woke up and found himself lying in an open field filled with heather. A waterfall cascading rich blue water was in the distance which woke him. Where was he? Shaking his head to clear it, he groggily remembered his name. Cronus. Yes, his name was Cronus. He tried to think of where he was but it would not come. He could not remember how he'd gotten there or anything. Beside him was a book and a rapier. So he knew how to read and fight, that would be helpful. Cronus picked up the book to peruse its pages and soon figured out that it was in fact, a book on strategy and tactics. So he was strategist.
Cronus got to his feet, gathered his rapier and book, and started walking through the field. He didnt know where he was going or what lay ahead, but anything was better than sitting in a field. Perhaps he would meet someone who would tell him where he was. He didn't get very far when he heard a rustling behind him. He stopped and turned around, brandishing his rapier. Strangely there was no one standing there. He didnt see anyone in the area either. Then he simultaneously heard a strange noise and felt something grab hold of his ankle. He looked down to see a small golden creature looking up at him, making what could be described as cooing. At first Cronus was confused. Then he remembered; this was his dragon, Ambrose. The little dragon then started making his way up Cronus' leg, wanting to be closer to his master. Cronus put his weapon away and picked up the little dragon, who then snuggled close to his master's chest, producing more happy noises. Cronus smiled and spoke softly to Ambrose. Off they went to find civilization.
Days pass before Cronus and Ambrose find their way to a broken bridge. It seemed to have been made of many colors. Strange, Cronus thought to himself, how can a bridge be made of color when they are built from stone or wood? Ambrose, seated on Cronus' shoulder, seemed confused as well. Then the two of them realized they were not alone. Unbeknownst to Cronus, he was about to embark on a journey to recover the missing pieces of the once magnificent and beautiful rainbow bridge of Asgard.
Cronus emerged from the mudroom. The clothes felt strange to him, but he would do whatever needed to be done to repair the bridge. If that meant wearing different clothes, then he would wear them. Looking down at Ambrose, he could have sworn he saw his dragon laugh a little. Apparently he looked funny to the tiny dragon. Cronus looked up at DÃse, "We are ready now." Cronus wondered if he would find out more about himself during this quest. Only time could tell.

My character:
Stvena Origins unknown.
She had a vague feeling that she had been a girl once. But had no clear memories. She came to be one day and could only remember sunshine and flowers. A forest? A forest of pink blossoms. And the warm beautiful breath of a creature who seemed to be comprised of those same natural elements. She could hear, feel? the thoughts of the being, and it called her Stvena. And she knew it was Ratsel. Her companion woke her and together they wandered through life haunting and helping those they encountered. She was a mysterious entity, neutral in feelings, but this quest seemed important. Almost as if she and her dragon had been waiting for this very happening. Together they would find the shards, help fix the bridge, and wander new realms. Perhaps someday finding who she once was. Outfit Not Found
Chapter 2 – Sionan

Wavy the river bank was. More wavy than normal. When you finally reach the place Heimdallr told you the water rises and DÃses ankles become wet. She makes a face and whistles. “Sionan? I know your little tricks, but please don’t be that childish. You have guests.†There was a long silence and then the river abruptly runs back to its original path. Well, your mentor mentioned that Sionan might be MOSTLY pleasant-natured. A young woman in seafoam colors breaks through the surface and watches both DÃse and yourself with curious, dripping eyes. “Who’s that?†She asks, obviously meaning you. You get the feeling that this goddess, who spent so much time next to the legendary source of knowledge already knew where you come from and what you desire. But maybe she is lonely and just wants to chit-chat? DÃse formally introduces you to her and then asks Sionan if she saw one piece of the Bifröst. “Auþa… This is what all this disturbing is about? The bridge?†She laughs with a voice sharp like a seashell. “I possess one of them.†DÃse makes a sigh of relieve when she hears the good news. But Sionan hasn’t finished yet. “I’ll gladly hand it over to you and I’ll give you the name of the deity that knows the way to the secret mountain cave where you’ll find the next splitter. But this will have a price.†Ho! You share a look with your fellow. It was clear that you don’t have a choice. You desperately need the tiny Bifröst piece in Sionans hands. “What do you want?†The river goddess makes a spreading gesture across her home. “Find a way to cross this river without getting wet and we’re done.â€

Mr. Scoots growls at Sionan after she issues her challenge to them. How dare that woman provide a task that could result in getting wet! he thinks while yowling indignantly. He looks towards Elethia to see what she has in mind and then proceeds to hide behind Dises legs when he notices the diabolical grin on her face....

Outfit Not Found Upon arrival at the riverbank, Alanna dismounted Vár and pulled him away from the water in case he tried to take a drink. It was best not to offend a deity on first meeting and she wasn't sure letting her animal drink from the river would be a good move.
When the river goddess voiced her demand, Alanna glanced at her travelling companion () meaningfully. Somehow she had just known that the goddess wouldn't give up the shard that easily. But then again, when was life ever easy? Being a seasoned hunter, Alanna knew that learning to trust one's own instincts can mean the difference between life and death. This time, they told her the best approach to the situation would be to attempt the challenge. After all, a goddess was not to be trifled with, no matter how harmless they may seem.

Mal caught her companion's glance. Well, this was going to be interesting. Mal pulled her purplish-tinted hair behind her fluffy faux-fur cape. Hopefully the locals wouldn't know it wasn't real though. Where she came from hunting was limited to backwater planets and illegal trades. The faux stuff was just as good, better even, it dried off a lot faster and it didn't smell when it got wet. And looking at the river she had a feeling she might be grateful for that. The water churned and she glanced at her hawk. He seemed unperturbed though so she went back to watching the river.

Mjrn sighed as she planted her sword in the ground and sat down next to it. Looking over to Kathryn to see if she had come up with any ideas, the lost Asgardian turned to watch the river slowly flow. Feeling her companion awake from his nap in the hood of her cape, Mjrn reached over her shoulders and picked the Wolpertinger up by his little antlers. "Skarn you lazy oaf, have you been asleep this entire time?" The little bunny stretched his feathery wings and limbs as he dangled lazily from his curved horns. Mrrrrf... Skarn replied as he yawned. Letting go of her 'oh-so-faithful' companion, the strange little beast flapped his wings to soften his landing. Shortly after landing, Skarn stretched again then made himself comfy in Mjrn's lap.
"Kathryn any ideas with this one? You're the brains of the opperation." Mjrn smirked at her partner then flexed her sword arm showing off her muscles. The two of them were in this together, no matter what happened she wouldn't leave Kathryn behind.

Okay so, crossing the river without getting wet? That should easy! Kathryn commented and stroked her imaginary beard.
All we have to do is.... Her voice faded out as she whispered in Mjrn's ear.
...And we can even throw in a bit of style as well. What do you say?

Ambrose, sitting on his haunches next to Cronus, barred his teeth and gave an angry low growl. He did not like this river goddess one bit and he was not afraid to show it. Cronus was more reserved than his dragon companion and hid his annoyance well. He looked around the river and found nothing that would help them cross and remain dry. He shut his eyes and bowed his head; this helped him concentrate and envision different scenarios and solutions. After a couple minutes, Ambrose rubbed against Cronus' leg and looked up at him. Cronus opened his eyes, suddenly realizing the solution was so simple.
The books the world calls 'immoral' are the books that show the world its own shame. - Picture of Dorian Gray

Irith stared at the river for a while, trying to come up with a plan. She believed the task couldn't be that hard. Even though she couldn't see any rocks or trees in sight, she knew they had to be there, somewhere on the side of the river.
"Alright, so all I need to do is cross that river without getting wet" she said out loud to no one in particulair. Irith whistled for Zarith up in the sky, when he came down Irith asked him to fly over the river to see if there's a way to get across it, something like a tree or a bridge or else a place where the river is smaller she asked him. But when Zarith came back after half an hour she could tell that he had no luck finding such a place.
"Okay, so this might be harder than I first thought" Irith said to Zarith. "I don't understand why no one has made a bridge across this river, but I did come up with another idea while you were gone Zarith. I might need your help though".
Irith sat down next to Zarith and began to explain what she wanted to do...
