Cronus was at a loss for words. He had nothing but his dragon, his sword, his book, and the clothes he was wearing. He knew of nothing to give this sentient being named Buareinech. Cronus knew Dise needed the bridge piece desperately, and he would do what needed to be done. Sacrifice. As the word came to his mind, so also did forgotten memories. He could see the sacrificial choice he had to make, the ultimatum his mother gave him: To stay home, live with her, and carry on the family line as a herbologist to supply the castle's herbs for potions and medicines; or leave home to become the tactician of the royal army which would make him dead to his mother and thereby have no family. The next thing he sees in his mind is him making battle plans for the royal army.

He came out of his reverie after Buareinech belched loudly. He felt troubled and somewhat ashamed of what he'd abandoned his family for. But he had a job to do and he had no time to regret his past choices.

It seemed fair to exchange something of great value for something else of great value. The only thing he valued more in this world, the thing he left home and became an outcast for, was strategy.

"I...dont have much of value on me, Buareinech." Cronus looked down at the leather-bound book of tactics and strategy in his hand. He'd written it himself. It contained all the tactics and strategies he'd used while in the royal army. Some he created himself, and some he found while perusing old dusty books in the royal library. It still had pages left in case he found or thought of more battle tactics. It was his most precious thing in this world. "But the only thing I have that is precious to me, as precious as that bridge piece of yours, is this book." He handed the book over to the man, explaining what it was. When Buareinech's hand reached out for the coveted book, Cronus kept a firm hold on it for a moment. He had to force himself to let go of it. Cronus backed away, watching the man smell the old and musty cover and binding. Ambrose felt Cronus' melancholy and wrapped a comforting tail around his ankle.

Gift for Buareinech Believing that the only chance he'd have to actually get the piece would be to give a "special item", Cuinn wracked his brain to think of every story he'd ever heard of these creatures. He wanted to think of something that would have significance to them.

Having only some money and small ornate daggers in his pocket, he figured he could give his handiwork a try at "crafting something".

Rummaging around outside turned up a few objects, namely a jar-like bottle, some wood and grasses. Polishing it up helped a bit with the presentation that he tried to set up inside...and the final touch, gently pouring in some water.

Cuinn walked back inside, carrying the gift carefully.

"This, perhaps, might remind you of home?"

From a young age, Yuko was always interested in magical arts, so she bought books to study and develop her magical powers on her own. Yuko's life changed when she came met a young man who had developed magical cards. Little did she know that her inevitable meeting with the young man, changed the course of her life as it would cause her to embark on a journey...

SPOILER (click to toggle) Explanation: The character I'm roleplaying for this section isn't a celtic/germanic mythology. I took inspiration from the manga/anime called xxxHolic. Some of the items on my HA are tributes to xxxHolic as well.
: Her companion, Mokona (full name: Mokona Modoki), Mokona knows and has 108 unique abilities to use. One of the abilities Mokona has is to travel time and space dimensions. "Mokona~! Can you use your special ability of travelling time and space dimensions to transport us across the bridge without getting us all wet?" Yuko asks, to which Mokona responds... (sent via sMail)

Quote by Adris
I looked at the magnificent creature in front of me and his cave home. It struck me how alone he must feel. Being on one’s own must be weary—it certainly had been the case for me. I remembered awful nights in the wilds, so alone and so scared. Seeing Buareinech before me, I realised I wanted him to have my keepsake. I pulled a necklace out from my inner clothing. It was looked like a shard of glass and radiated a small amount of power and heat. Outfit Not Found
I bit back the emotions that were welling inside. I wanted him to have it, but parting from it would still be hard. Yet, I would continue. I gathered up my most formal speech, because I wanted to honour both my family and Buareinech. “At the time my father’s passing, he called me before him and told me that I was one of the last of the druid kind. Bestowing unto me a necklace passed from one family member to the next, Father told me I would never be alone. When he gave it to me, I thought he meant the necklace would tie me to the other generations long since passed.” I glanced back at Hlin for a brief moment and smiled, “I have; however, learnt I shall never be alone again. Wouldst thou, oh great Buareinech, honour my family by allowing their spirits to walk amongst you with this artefact as their beacon?” I held out the necklace before him and squeezed it lightly. It lit up the cave with a soft blue glow. “With its light, darkness shall never be your enemy.” I clasped in Buareinech’s hand and stepped back towards Odin. I petted his head and felt light in my heart. I knew my family, all my family, were proud of me.

Quote by Hlin
Seeing that Adris has already given a wonderful gift of love and power to Buareinech, Hlin realizes that the little necklace represents one of the two relics of the Formorian past.

What can she do to compliment this? Well, there is only one thing, to match the music of Dagda, which Elatha, the most beautiful of all Formorian guarded with his life. It almost pains her to do this, and it is a sacrifice, but slowly she reaches into her pack and withdraws a small harp maid of oak. She presents it to Buareinech with deeply felt words.

"Here is my music. It means the world to me, and I give it in the spirit of sacrifice and honor. Please guard it with the nobility of Elatha, and may it sing for you gently and warmly."

Chapter 4 Amarantha listened carefully to Buareinech's request. A gift, hm? It sounded like such a simple request but Amarantha knew that it was anything but that. Finding a suitable gift would be challenging and require a lot of thinking.

Taking her time, Amarantha took a look around the area and the cave. The statue with flowers caught her eye and Amarantha smiled. She had the perfect idea for a gift.

Calling her companion Cobalt to her side, Amarantha sent him out to gather her some harder to find supplies while she rummaged though her small bag for other necessary materials. When Cobalt returned with the items, she sat down and began crafting her item. Some time later, she approached Buareinech.

"This is my offering of a gift for you." Amarantha intoned, holding out a small compact mirror. "It may look simple, but I promise it is anything but."

"Over the long years of my life, my relationship with death has changed. At first he hated me for being able to avoid his grasp and for protecting others from his as well. As time passed, it became more of a spat for nothing more than just a show. Recently, we have...turned a corner and become friends to a degree." Amarantha explained. "And so I have been able to create this for you."

"This mirror can serve as a way to speak to those who have departed this world, but only to those for whom your feelings are strong." Amarantha said. "Seeing how your honor the figure with fresh flowers, I have no doubts this will be easy for you."

"I cannot restore that person back to life, but at least with this perhaps some of the worry and troubles on your heart and in your mind will be lifted. Please take it." Amarantha smiled and held the compact out towards Buareinech.
Trade... Alright, this was no notion he was unfamiliar with. Back in his home country things relied heavily on trades. Trades and haggleing. Nothing had a fixed price. Rashid nodded as Buareinech had finished his speech. "Of course reverend one. I shall finde something to value this shard." He bowed and left the Fomorian for a while. Rashid had noticed how dearly the man seemed to care about a totem close to the back of the cave. Maybe some of his ancestors, the Arabian decided. Nonetheless, he had to find something which was good enough to trade. His Falcon flew hhigh above ground and spied, while Rashid went and scavenged leaves and gras. With deftly fingers, he worked them into something resembling a bowl and was barely finshed, when his falcon let out a screech. The young man held up a hand as to allow hs companion to land, before he took from his beak a small flower. The falcon had tried his best nt to hurt the plant, and as it was, the tiny bloom was whole, even its roots. Gently Rashid set it into his makeshift bowl and ever so careful put soil around it. The small and fragile flower seemed to thrive again. Smilingly Rashid went back to the Fomorian. "Exalted one, will you accept this token? It is a rare flower, seldoly found and surely it will bring shine to your memento."
Chapter Four “Don’t know yet. What do you have? I won’t give the Bifröst bit away for nothing. But I may wehsljan --swap-- it for something… more interesting.” Buareinech answered. Talwyn nodded in understanding. She rifled through her purse in hopes of finding something of value, but there was only a spell textbook and a few dusty herbs. Slowly, she walked around the Fomorian’s cave. It was filled with various creature pelts and hand-crafted furniture. “Cozy place you’ve got”, she commented. She ran her fingers over the painted cave walls. “You painted these yourself?” “Yes.” Buareinech replied. “Hmm.” The pixie studied the paintings carefully. ‘Maybe there could be a clue as to what he wants in return…’, thought Talwyn. Most of the paintings depicted snowy landscapes of coniferous trees. ‘A forest?’ But Talwyn didn’t know of any forests outside of her own. She was stumped. “Gilbert, can you think of anything he’d like?” She whispered to her companion. The frog was equally stuck. “I can’t think of anything”, he croaked morosely. The pixie nodded and chewed her lip. There was nothing to do but to keep exploring the cave. It was then that she came across… a stony bust? Talwyn examined the sculpture with interest. It resembled Buareinech. ‘Could it be? It has to be…’ The freshly clipped flowers at the foot of the bust confirmed her suspicions. Like lightning, an idea hit her. Talwyn reached up to unfasten the central flower, a cordelian rose, from her flower crown. “I see that you have felt the loss of a loved one…I see you also like to keep fresh flowers to honor them.” She handed the glowing yellow blossom to Buareinech. “I know this flower may not seem very special, but it’s a cordelian rose. It’ll never wilt nor fade away, and every full moon, it’ll glow. The chief of my tribe keeps a garden of these roses. Every year during my tribe’s springtime festivities, we have a competition, and the winner gets one. The competition is something different every time.” The Formorian accepted the rose, and looked at the pixie in curiosity. “What was the competition this past spring?” “...Twigsmanship. I used to be the laughingstock of my class because I was so bad at it.” Talwyn gave a wry smile at the memory. “I remember how I felt when they announced ‘twigsmanship’ as this year’s competition. I almost didn’t want to participate. But then, after much convincing from Gilbert,” She smiled at the frog, “I decided to suck it up and go for the gold. I had to train my butt off to get there, but I’m really glad I did.” “A very reflective experience.” Buareinech smiled at Talwyn. “I will treasure this flower. Thank you.” Keeping his end of the deal, the Formorian handed Talwyn his splinter of the Bifröst.

Inside the cave Mjrn reached for the pommel of her sword and had her shield ready unsure of what they would approach. She was ready to protect whomever she could of the group should this next person they were to encounter be something or someone incredibly dangerous. Approaching Buareinech the Asgardian relaxed a bit and looked to Kathryn to try and read the on her face. Kathryn returned Mjrn's glance and whispered to her, "How can someone wear such a shabby ensemble? It way be the wilds or some mystical place but you'd think they would cover up a bit..." It was just like Kathryn to pick on someone for what they were wearing, Mjrn shrugged with a small sigh because Kathryn was just being her typical fashionista self.

Buareinech offered what seemed like a trade for the Bifrost shard, although they valued it highly perhaps they would be willing swap for an item of equal sentimental value? Pulling Kathryn to the side to consult, Mrjn started going over ideas as to what they could possibly offer in exchange. "How about that Puppy of yours!" Mjrn joked as she patted the fluffy canine on the head. Already knowing of Kathryn's response just from her sudden glare and change in Mjrn threw out a few other ideas at her partner. Kathryn shot down all of Mjrn's ideas because they were just downright silly, I mean who would want a pair of Asgardian underwear or a small pocket photo of Odin giving the thumbs up?! Those items had no real value to them at all, they were just things Mjrn had in satchel.

Something from Mjrn's satchel caught Kathryn's eye though, "Mrjn! What's that? That item you have pressed into your journal?" Pulling out her self-made journal, Mjrn showed the now excited ballerina the origami flower crafted from a piece of vibrant golden paper. "That's from back home isn't it? I mean not HOME home but the place we have have together. That flower would be PERFECT!" Snatching the golden origami flower from Mjrn's open journal, Kathryn inspected the token from their home away from home. Mjrn sulked a little, she really wasn't fond of the idea of giving one of her memories to this Buareinech person. That was until Kathryn made sense of it all to her thick skulled companion.

"Flowers are the symbol beauty and life! Especially this one, even though it's not a real flower, it represents a home for both of us since I have never seen anything like it except back at our makeshift home in frozen nowhereland. In theory we're both giving up a memory of our old home for a chance at the shard which in turn will get us a chance at returning to our real homes. Wouldn't that be a good trade?" Mjrn nodded in agreeance as little as she wanted to give up something of such value. "Fine then, let us give Buareinech the flower..." Mjrn said with still a little bit of a sulk in her tone. Kathryn couldn't get over how much of a baby her partner was being.

Turning around to go hand the flower to Buareinech he was actually right behind them listening to their conversation. The Fomorian heard the value and story behind the flower. "Umm.. HI! I guess you heard our reasoning for giving you this... I hope this flower can be given as a token of something we hold dear, may it bestow the symbol of beauty and the frailty of life as well as carry on the story of our hardships." With that, Kathryn stretched out her hand and gave Buareinech the delicately pressed golden flower that Mjrn had been holding onto from before the journey began.

Alanna was a little lost. She was expecting some trouble from the Fomorian and was prepared to fight for the bridge piece. Instead, she was given the chance to trade for it. But what with? It seemed to her that this Buareinech had no use for money so buying it was out of the question. No, he wanted something far more meaningful to them. "Mal... do you have anything to trade with?" She looked around the cave, hoping there would be some clues that would tell her what she needed.

"I have just the thing!" Mal announced to her companion. Alanna turns to look questioningly in reply. "He can have Wash."

Alanna was not impressed. "What? I can trade him for the shard and get myself a horse instead. Win-win for everyone. It's only a matter of time before he drives me batty enough to-" An indignant squawk from the bird in question interrupted Mal. It seemed that Wash wasn't impressed with Mal's solution either.

"Now don't you look at me like that! You've been nothing but trouble since we started-" Both Alanna and Wash were staring at Mal, Alanna was stony while Wash's beady eyes were unblinking. Mal relented. "Alright alright, calm down. I was only kidding. No one is trading you away, you silly bird."

Alanna turned her attention to her pack to see whether she had anything useful. She didn't think Buareinech would have any use for her hunting knives, bow and arrows or quiver. There was no way she could trade her horse away. "There must be something..." She muttered to herself. There were a number of items that she kept as souvenirs from various journeys she went on. Hopefully at least one of them would be worth the bridge piece.

"Oh..." She breathed as her hand touched a familiar object. "This is the one! But..." To say she was reluctant to part with it was an understatement. This was one of the most precious items she had. A keepsake that was very valuable. No amount of gold would make her part with it. Except her heart knew with a sinking feeling that it was the one. Not only was a branch of the Yggdrasil almost impossible to obtain, it was a gift from someone she had loved and lost a long time ago.

Mal realized that Dise knew the Famorian more than either of them. He wouldn’t let them into his house but she was welcome. Mal didn’t quite blame him for not wanting her to go snooping around in his place. To him she probably looked strange with her purple hair and she was told she had an offworlders accent. Mal was born on a technologically advanced planet and loved boating as a child and would often look at the ships in the sky with a twinkle of excitement. Before she was even old enough to own a glider she’d found a way to trade for one of the neighbors. She learned to fly from an early age and when she was old enough she got a job on a space ship that did cargo runs to various planets. She found herself working with the law to apprehend smugglers and the like and did odd jobs for people if she thought they were either decent folks or it was worth her while. This was one of the strangest jobs she’d been on so far. Disguise or not it was probably obvious to the wise, old Famorian that she didn’t quite belong here.

She quietly asked Dise to look around his home and let them know if she found anything that might help them. She proved to be very clever and noticed a few things that gave the two women an idea. Now how to implement it..

Mal was conducting a body search all over herself when she heard Alanna. "What is it? You got something?" She stepped closer to Alanna and peered over her shoulder at the item she was holding. "A stick? That's it?" Her voice was incredulous. "That is what we're trading for the bridge? Why would he take it?" Alanna turned to look at Mal solemnly. "Not just a stick Mal. It's a branch." Alanna's voice was quiet. "This means a lot to anyone who knows what it is. To me, it's much more than that."

Mal didn't really get it but she didn't try to argue. They had learned from Dise that Buareinech was not all he seemed. It appeared that even though he was happy where he was, he did have a life before this. She had discovered a grave, possibly from a deceased wife. They also discovered that he had many pictures of trees and a bundle of feathers.

"I think he will understand and appreciate the sentiment." Alanna didn't answer as her fingers brushed along an invisible path on the branch. She had obviously done that a lot. "Are you sure you can't just trade something else? I mean, you obviously like it so much. I'm sure we can think of something else. I mean, he can go out and snap one off a random tree if he wants one of his own."

"In my mind, the only thing worth as much as a piece of the Bifrost would be that branch. If we settled on anything less, Buareinech will know. And I am sure he will take it in exchange for the bridge piece."

Without further ado and hesitation - in case she changed her mind - Alanna approached Buareinech and respectfully offered him the branch. "In exchange for the piece of the bridge, my companion and I would like to offer the . A rare item that holds many important memories for me and has been with me for a long time. I know you would treasure it as I have." She held it out as Buareinech took it from her hands gently. Mal cleared her throat. “You can’t have always lived this life, alone, here. I know you’re happy but we wanted to offer you more than just a token of ourselves. We’d like to offer you the chance to go and visit the world when we are done with this quest. We can take you to visit wherever you like. We hear there are beautiful farms in Veta Lake. You used to live on a chicken farm, yes? Veta Lake has beautiful, tall fir and pine trees, rolling green countryside and quaint farms that we could visit.” “This branch means a lot to me and this promise does as well. This is what we offer for the piece of the bifrost.” Buareinech looked down at the branch in his hands and became thoughtful.

Chapter 5 – Blodeuwedd

No losing deal you made with Buareinech the Fomorian: He not only handed you the Bifröst piece, he also gave a hint who might hold another one. This somebody was Blodeuwedd, the fairest and most beautiful maiden anyone had ever seen made from the flowers of broom, meadowsweet and oak by the magicians Math and Gwydion. She lives in a small cottage in a hill crest nearby, together with her husband Lleu Llaw Gyffes. You already suspect the next task. It’s an open secret that Blodeuwedd fall in love with the warrior Gronw Pebr. A fact that her husband doesn’t like much, to say the least. Maybe you should reunite the two lovers? That would be nice for a change. In fact Blodeuwedd asks for help once you enter the cottage and take a seat. “It’s time for a great gesture.” She demands. “I told him, that I’m sorry and that he is the love of my life. Literally --- I was made for him. I’d never bisweikan ---betray--- him. But Lleu Llaw Gyffes doesn’t trust me anymore. He’s always angry. I don’t know what to do.” The flower girl sobs and Díse consolingly pets her shoulder. “I… I can pay you. I have a small splitter from the Bifröst. Take it, I don’t need it anymore. All I want is Lleu Llaw Gyffes. Please… help me recapture him.” “Sure.” You hear yourself say sanguinely. Poor Blodeuwedd; everybody deserves to be happy with his or her significant other. “We’ll find a way to propitiate your husband.” Díses peek seems to ask “do we?” but you made a promise and you’re eager to hold it. The question is: How?

Irith stood there, silently in front of Blodeuwedd and Díse, trying to realize what she had just done, why did she tell Blodeuwedd that she would help her in getting Lleu Llaw Gyffes back? Since Irith never had a relationship that lasted longer than a couple of months, she was hardly the one to give Blodeuwedd advice on how to get back with her significant other. Irith sighed, since she really didn’t know what she could do to help out. To get the next Bifröst piece she had to find a way to get the two of them back together though, since she would only get the piece as a payment for solving the challenge.

Irith saw a shadow on the ground and then Zarith landed on the ground besides her. “I reckon you don’t have an idea on how to bring two people back together?” she asked him, already knowing that he wouldn’t answer her, he only come down because of his curiosity. Zarith made no sound at all, but only looked up to stare her in the eyes. “I know” Irith said “You would love to continue our trip together”.

“But wait” Irith spoke out loud, coming up with what she thought could be a solution for the hard challenge she had given herself. “No, actually, I don’t think that will work” she sighed again. “Why do I always have to get myself into trouble” she asked Zarith. “Me and my big mouth. I should so learn to think before saying things!”.

Irith walked around for a bit, thinking about the challenge, not knowing what to do. “I might have something that can help me come up with an idea” Irith then said out loud. She grabbed some of the things she was having in her pockets and looked at them. “Alright” she sighed, while looking up to Zarith “I don’t think this is going………wait! I guess this is going to help me!”. Zarith only looked at Irith, while she was busy getting more things from her pockets.

Howl couldn't believe he'd agreed to help with a relationship. Sure he felt sorry for her, but relationships were messy, and he'd had enough trouble with his own. But he knew what Sophie would say, especially after making an impetuous promise. A love potion might work -- if he had the ingredients, and if that wouldn't be dreadfully underhanded. Besides, love bought with a potion was superficial, not the real thing. Howl sighed and settled in to think.

Listening to Blodeuwedd go on about the "wisdom" of solving her problem, and whether allowing two teens to try it, Hlin privately thinks Lleu Llaw Gyffes deserves better...

"And who better than Adris and me?" she asks herself.

A scheme forms in her mind. What man can resist a tall drink on Saturday night? Add that to the fact that she&;s good at brewing potions and there&;s a small waterfall with a wide pool they passed on the way here...

She quickly brews a mild love potion and explains her idea to Adris.

"Here&;s what we do: We give Lleu a goblet and commiserate with him about the fickleness of love, then we leave and let it take effect, while Eddo hides and begins to sing one of his foxy little lure songs.

In the meantime, we go to the waterfall and wait until he arrives..."

Seeing that Adris&; eyes have grown wide, she adds.

"And don&;t you dare freak out on me! You embarrassed me in front of a squirrel, so this is nothing, especially since we&;re in great shape from all this exercise and we&;re both seventeen! What better time!

So we get naked and hop in pool, and Lleu hops in with us.

Now, this is the tricky part: Before Lleu gets too carried away, but still with some touchy feely, (not too much though, honest!) Odin has got to get Blodeuwedd down to the pool to witness the hijinks! Naturally, we&;ll run off at that point, but it will now be tit-for-tat with them. and, since he can&;t be blaming her anymore, since he&;s just done stuff, too, they&;ll have to make-up! Brilliant, huh? Huh? Adris?"

Quote by Adris
My eyes grew wide when Hlin told me of her plan. It was just a body and I really didn’t care who saw mine. I was more surprised at the devious little plan Hlin had. The plan went exactly as Hlin had laid out. Llue hopped into the pool with the two of us, all naked and youthful. I and Hlin made a big deal out of splashing each other, allowing our perky bosoms to pop conveniently out of the water every so often. Hlin seemed to enjoy playing with Llue a little too much, the little seductress, giving him a little brush with her finger on his chest.
I had sent Odin to fetch Blodeuwedd, having given him her scent and knowing that he’d pull her till she followed of her own accord. Just as I nibbled on Llue’s ear, I saw Odin and Blodeuwedd arrive. She saw Llue staring at my chest, which conveniently was no longer under the water. Hlin’s eyes were sparkling with laugher. She truly enjoyed how well this was playing out.
Quote by Hlin
Ear nibbling and perky bosoms for the win! Adris was really a good sport about this, and looked really good, too---darn her! Anyway, Blodeuwedd turned blood red, and we grabbed our clothes and ran off in the other direction, but not before we heard all kinds of stammered apologies, and then...MORE splashing!

Looks like we mended a quarrel, but frankly, I think he should have turned her into an owl.

Frowning to herself while Mr. Scoots snickers in the background, Elethia considers her options. She has potions and spells of nature with her, but nothing that deals with matters of the heart. If I did I'd have a whole harem of men right now.Elethia smirks at the image. Mr. Scoots sighs and wanders over and swats Elethias leg to get her mind back on track. "Ouch! Alright you grouchy cat! I get the hint!" Elethia growls out. Now how to go about solving this predicament I wonder?she contemplates

He wasn't much of a matchmaker, having never really been concerned with love himself and even less knowledgeable on how to deal with these matters, but if that was what it would take to get the Bifröst piece then so be it. Cosima was right, he certainly was being challenged in ways he hadn't anticipated.

Listening to Díse talk about both of them had stirred up an idea in his mind. He wasn't sure if it was exactly a romantic gesture, more a play on things that they both liked...but if that was what others would classify as romantic then he supposed this might do.

Cronus was dumbfounded. He took Dise and led her to a room where they could talk privately.

"I'm a tactician, not a marriage counselor. I plan battles and predict what the enemy is going to do." He told her. He felt out of his element and helpless. Dise told him planning battles was not much different than this. This was a battle of the heart. Cronus closed his eyes, took a deep breath, held it for a couple moments, and released it. He did this a couple of times. It was a technique that cleared his mind. The first thing that he thought of was the time he was tasked with planning a rescue mission which was possibly his most difficult trial in his profession.

He remembered everything about those few days; where the camp was, what tent he was in, the tension in the air, the camp servant bringing him food and drink (he would not leave his tent until he had a plan), the placement of the map markers on the huge map, and most troubling of all, the distressed look on his prince's face.

The prince's daughter had been kidnapped by the enemy with the intent to make them surrender. Cronus was staring intently at the map markers littering the huge map. Perhaps he was hoping they would give him some insight. Without taking his eyes off the map, he reached down for his spearmint mango tea with a few drops of honey, and drank deep, letting the taste and smell of the mint calm his anxiety while the mango stimulated his brain function. He'd lost track of time as he stared at the map, trying to come up with a way to save the princess and defeat the enemy once and for all.

The tent flap was pulled back, but Cronus was too lost in his thoughts to notice. "Have you thought of a way yet?" It was the voice of his prince. He had come to sit down at the table. "No matter what I come up with, that madman will win." Cronus sighed. He hadn't remembered sleeping in two days. It was then he started to feel a dull pain in his head and he rubbed his temples for a few moments. He then reached for his tea. "Cronus, I don't want you running yourself ragged. You are our most valued tactician and you need rest. Come back with a refreshed mind." The prince pleaded. "I will rest when I've found a way to save your daughter and end this conflict. Every hour of inaction brings us that much closer to losing everything." "But we also lose everything if our tactician is unable to do his job. We would be scattered like leaves in the wind." He stood up and walked around the table to stand by the weary Cronus. "Don't make me confine you to your tent." Cronus closed his eyes, took a deep breath, held it for a couple moments, and exhaled. He did it once more, "I would find a way to sneak away with this map and----" he trailed off. He stared long and hard at the map markers again, but this time he had a plan. It was so obvious. "Cronus? What is it?" Cronus, feeling rejuvenated, then explained his plan, moving around the map markers.

Cronus felt a sudden pain in his ear followed by a hiss. He came out of his daydream and instinctively brought his hand to his ear. Instead, his hand came in contact with Ambrose, who was sitting on his shoulder, still hissing. He did this sometimes when Cronus drifted from the present. But this time it seemed, revisiting the past was the key to solving the present. Looking at Dise, who gave him a "should I be concerned" look, he said, "I think I know what to do."

Alanna was at a loss. What did she just get herself into? She had never been married or in love before. This was not her expertise. Her job was to retrieve the pieces of the rainbow bridge. No one ever mentioned that she would need to help mend someone's marriage. Alanna scratched her head, completely clueless as to how she was going to complete this task. "Gods... Mal... please tell me you have experience with courtship. I really have no idea here."

~~~~~
Mal's eyes went big. "Courtship? Hell no!" She took a step back. "I'm all about lovin' 'em and leavin' 'em baby. Gotta keep them wantin' more, ya know!" She said smiling. Then she realized that this meant that neither of them knew what to do. She stopped smiling, "Aw, shit." She put her hands on her hips and turned to look at their surroundings. There had to be a clue here somewhere.
~~~~~

Alanna thought carefully about the situation surrounding Blodeuwedd's unfortunate circumstances. If only there was a way for the husband to understand how his wife felt... Some way to make him see past his anger and forgive her... "I think I have a plan." Alanna walks up to her companion and puts a hand on her shoulder. "Mal... I have a job for you in mind. It is a little...devious..." She began to smile as the idea slowly took form in her mind.

Pulling Mal and Blodeuwedd aside, Alanna told them about her plan. It wasn't a romantic one but hopefully it would get the job done - that is, if they could pull it off without any hitches.

Kathryn gave a bright smile, she may not be an expert on romance (seeing that non of her boyfriends lasted more than 2 weeks) but she still love her idea. I know just the right thing to do to get your two back together, don't worry Blodeuwedd!!!

She pulled her friend Mjrn aside and whispered in her ear.

Rashid immediately pledged his help. Blodeuwedd's story reminded him of the tales of old. And honour demanded that he help a damsel in distress, even though he was not a knight per se. "Fear not fair Blodeuwedd. I will help you win your husband back." He bowed and whispered his ideas to her.
