I had made a similar thread during the BFS regarding the sudden rise of csc from 35 mil to 45 mil per 1 k csc. I was assured by most that the prices will fall come next Jan. Now it is Jan and csc commands 50 mil for 1 k, 7 mil min atm for 100 csc. Why is it still so expensive? Come Feb should we to come to expect 1 k cards off the ss coz they cost 70 mil a piece?

As long as it continues to sell for the high prices it's not going to come down. If you don't want to pay the going rate in sP, then you're free to buy it with $. I don't see a problem with it, really.

The high price kind of benefits everyone. At least from the perspective of the site's finances. It pushes those who don't buy CSC with real money to consider it. And it pushes those who buy CSC to both buy exclusively with real cash and potentially buy some to sell if they're going to get a good return on it. I can see why it's frustrating, but I don't think artificially intervening would be in Subeta's interests.

Yep, CSC is still crazy pricey but there is really nothing anyone can do about it. -__- Just have to wait and hope it comes down. I myself don't like spending real money on buying CSC so I know how much this sucks but I think it has to do with the BF sale and then Lumi being right after it (regardless of how expensive CSC is, people tend to buy CSC for gifts during the holiday season so that contributes to the demand as well). Maybe in a few more months, it'll come down to the 40 mil per 1k mark - still higher than the 35 Mil it was at before but much better than the 50 mil it's going for now.

As long as there is a continued demand (CWs, new items in the Cash Shop, gifting, etc) the prices are less likely to come down to pre-BF.

I do buy some CSC with cash, but the prices still make me sad, frankly. I used to be able to earn enough for 3-4 Collections every month and still put some aside back when I first started. I miss those days. :/

What I find curious is that there are nowhere near as many CSC gift cards for sale as there used to be. This means sellers aren't competing by lowering prices to attract buyers.

I'm sure it will come down, just not instantly? Money doesn't grow on trees (that'd be nice though lol), and neither does csc. The csc in the market us from users selling it.

First we had BF where the bulk of csc in the shop search was cleared out, and the bulk of csc purchased with real money went to buying things with csc not sP-- I know I bought quite a bit and only sold maaaybe 1k of it because I was mostly interested in things I wanted that cost csc. You also have to keep in mind BF is a major shopping holiday in the US, so much so that a growing number of employeers actually count it as a paid holiday now, so a lot of people who might have bought csc instead spent that money irl.

After BF we rolled right into December, with the biggest money based holidays of the year that are celebrated around the world (some holidays are more money driven than others). With people spending their money mostly on gifts, decor, traveling, and food-- most people probably spent a lot of their csc on gifts, rather than to sell.

And now we're in the first month of the new year where wallets are zipped right, credit card statements are paid without trying to look at the balance, and people go on beans and rice diets to try and recover their finances. Generally speaking, most people don't have a ton of money to toss around, so I don't see how csc would be in a position to deflate at all.

I do think it'll deflate, especially once income tax season rolls around, when bank accounts and fun spending rebounds again. Unless subeta does a sale to encourage those rebates to be directed here, then all bets are off.

I wonder if the trade centre CSC option has something to do with this.

But this really sucks. It does make it less enjoyable to play here since you have to save ages for stuff like CWs and such.

I'm pretty sure this is one of this biggest reasons. There is no incentive fir users for put cards in the Trading Center or even the Shop Search since users can just buy CSC directly.

Yeah, we've seen a lot of people sending CSC via the trades so I think that's caused the price to go up in user shops if you don't have a direct seller.

Not really sure how to fix that :/

I don't buy a lot of CSC, but it is a shame that it's getting so expensive. Buying with actual cash isn't an option for me, so I depend on other users on the occasions where I do want/need CSC, and I'd rather not get price-gouged, lol.

Use the token shop. And maybe put some other currency cards (epicon) as well.

Putting CSC (or gold accounts, etc) in the token / millionaire / etc shop doesn't actually lower the prices. People buy them up to hoard and almost never turn around and sell them.

Like I don't have the option to buy CSC with $$$ atm and won't for the forseeable future, so I was pretty bummed to see that prices for the cards have still not gone down and seem to have even inflated more. I haven't even been able to find sellers for straight CSC via trades, either. I do hope it goes down eventually, and I'm happy that this has been acknowledged by staff in one way or another. But in the meantime I'm trying to buy the CSC for a namechange with sP and it's suuuch slow going because I keep going broke. xD

/I personally think/ CSC is still so high is because:

  1. There are so few users selling in shops
  2. It's selling for the high prices because CSC is always in demand, so why would someone reduce the price when they know they can make more money off it
  3. New releases in the Cash Shop
  4. Lack of a new Reward Card - people might not want to put more money into buying and selling CSC when they aren't getting rewarded for it anymore by the site

I hope that's not the case, because if it is then that seriously backfired.
