I was SO EXCITED when I saw the original super-pouty lips. I took off and made an avvie with them immediately because I loved how much character they had.

I was so, so, so disappointed when I looked at my avvie and noticed the update. Now I just have another generic, slightly disgruntled-looking pout that is no different from any of the other slightly disgruntled-looking pouts I already have.

I'm not asking to go back to the old lips (I know a lot of people probably do like the update), but could we have a second Pistil Lipstain that has the super-pouty lips, or possibly make the lips transformable?

I didn't even know it was revamped. Why was it?

I assume because some people didn't like how close it was to the line of the cheek. I don't think there was any official complaint (I couldn't find a revamp or a suggestion thread) but there was a post about it on a popular Subeta tumblr.

Oh. Honestly that's kind of disappointing. I liked the way it looked, but I guess majority rules if so many others didn't like it that they had to change it.

I'm disappointed too. There was no reason to update it.

If I remember correctly the offsite critique was the only one but I may be wrong about that. I admit that I thought it was weird when I first saw it but when I heard someone say that it looked like the HA was thinking (like moving their lips to the side as in thought) I kinda thought it was neat and unique. People tend to forget that normal people have emotions that show on their face and not every pair of lips should be centered right under the nose. It kinda sucks that it was changed. If people didn't like them, then they have hundreds of others to choose from.

There is a whole set of eyes that are still off center to me and those can't be moved to the side on a human being.

I'm quite glad it was changed. They never looked "pouty" to me, just really badly placed. There wasn't really enough extra detail to make them look properly expressive. The revamp with little to no on-site critique does somewhat suggest the original image was a mistake.

I saw almost nothing but poor criticism about them. They were terribly off kilter. I am glad they were updated. Now if only they'd start lining the eyes up correctly

Well, a few people besides myself have already replied saying they liked the old ones. I don't mind the new ones, I just would like to have the option of the olds ones :/

It looked really wonky before... the "revamp" is great, because it fixes the only issue with the item. Nothing to complain over.

I like it better in its new position. I do think however we need a new lip item that would be placed where the "old" one was. It's just that that type of lips (thick upper AND lower lip) didn't look good in that position. I think if an artist could mess around with the thickness of the lips there (maybe a thick bottom and thin top?) it could create a new lip style. I did like the fact that in that position it kind of gave the appearance of a person thinking (going "hmmm", I can see someone putting their lips to the side like that).

Again, I think this looks better. But it does lose that "thinking/pondering" look without being in that position. Someone should create a new lips item in the original position with different thicknesses (top and bottom). I can see that being great.

...moving it means it no longer looks "exactly the same." The reason I liked it so much in the first place is because of the position and the mood that position implied, a sort of snobby assholery. I'm aware the lips themselves haven't been redrawn or recolored, just moved, but that still qualifies as a revamp for me because it affects how I use the lips.

well whatever throws up hands I would still like to be able to transform the lipstain to the original position. I don't think I'll be using this much now that it's been updated -- I have other lips that can fulfill the exact same role the updated lips can in terms of overall attitude of my avatar.

eta: just a note, again, that I'm not asking to get rid of the new ones. The new ones are fine. I just want to be able to use the old ones if I so choose.

Oh thank god they fixed it. I like my lips to not look like they were punched off my face. They are much better now.

Well, I think the lips look MUCH better now. No longer like some sort of demented Picasso painting. I didn't think the lips said "snobby assholery" (as raumlet lovingly put it)- just a drunk interpretation of pin-the-lips-on-the-HA. Perhaps I'll go get a pair now.

I liked the old one too.

I'm surprised this got so much criticism in the first place. It's not something I would personally use (I don't use any lipsticks), but I liked that it had personality. It's not much different from the generic Black Lipstick now.

I also like the Professor New Polarity lips because they're so different, but those got a lot of negative criticism, too.

Variety is always nice.

The original art literally looked like a mistake (kind of like the on the HA) and considering how quickly it was changed I don't think it wad to cater to the demands of the masses.

Maybe it would be helpful to make some suggestions or post some examples of pouty lips.
