okay, here's my suggestion (again :v): give us the option to transform the lips into the old ones, bc the old ones were fine even if they were not an item that everyone would get use out of.

here's what I saw when I looked at them (quick n dirty tablet doodle sorry)

a sassy bitchface pout. I really liked them ;u; they reminded me of a face I tend to draw over and over (my old forumtext included a doodle with a similar but less irritated pout).

Were the Professor New Polarity lips moved over too? In any case I think they look much better and maybe actually useable now

One big issue is how the HA is designed. Expressive faces are lovely, but with how small they are the artists can only go so far with the detail in one-off things such as lips (which those kind of lips would require some odd lining and added shading that would not lend well to a good amount of the base skins)… It's very easy to go from "they are simply moving their lips over in an expressive way" to… Well, this:

if staff says that they were changed because of public demand, then I would agree that it would be fair to offer the old ones as an alternative item. (Similar to the Radhas Luxe Belt being changed and the revamped being released as a line in All That Glitters)

However if they were corrected because it was an error (like several people have commented) I think it would be silly to offer the mis aligned ones.

I did think they were a bit odd at first, but I agree that it would be really nice if you could transform them to the older model. If they ever implement something that lets you move the face items around individually then it wouldn't be a problem, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, if at all. I like the newer wearables that have more personality than some of the older stuff, and I hope they make more.

if it turns out to have been an error, well, all I can say is we've had an item make it onto the site in error and enough people liked it that the old one stayed as a transformable (the star theatre/theater 3000, can't remember the spelling). We haven't heard anything about whether or not the lips a mistake and even if they were, it doesn't change how I feel. <:v

I agree that artists have limitations due to the size of the HAs, and I almost wrote a blurb saying so, but I dont think your example applies here. That isn't what the lips look like. The lips weren't edited at all, they were just moved, and you apparently think they look fine in the updated version? Given the limitations of size, the artist did a great job.

(Part of the problem is that the HA base itself isn't... really.... correct. The head is lopsided and misshapen and the chin is in a slightly different perspective from the rest of the head. It's difficult to line things up properly. :/ )

I dont think they were moved, but looking at them, I think some of the lines were removed - I remember the philtrum being more pronounced?

Part of me is sad that the lips got moved, but they wouldn't have been super useable in that particular color and position at the same time. I liked the snobby pout though, so I hope it comes back tweaked a bit and in (a) more useable color(s)

That WAS my point ? Due to how the HA's are, putting the lips off to the side like that in an attempt to give a specific expression results in it simply looking off kilter. My example is the girl pulling a face with her bottom lip actually being bitten... And it simply makes her look like she has some funky lips.

There are MANY things wrong with how the HA's are made, but that means we sort of have to go with what is there and not "technically, this is how it IS supposed to be" ... A little late in the game, honestly.

I personally like it a lot better now, but I'm definitely not opposed to variety, which could either be a transformable version of these or a new pout revisiting the concept (: I'd love to see more 'unisex' mouths, more subtle smirks, why not more pouts -- sure!

I'm not an artist, but tbh to me those particular lips looked way too far off to the (HA's) right, in a way that it felt unnatural to me, given the perspective on the base noses/chin/other basic facial features. As in, I legitimately tried to do this pouty face in the mirror now to see if my lips would deviate so much from my chin line, and I can't make them do that :/ Maybe if the HA's face was at a greater angle than 3/4s, I guess. As I said, I'm not an artist, so this is likely just my preferences, but those felt strange to me given the HA restrictions/features placement angle.

I think we've been getting quite a few non-centered mouths, which are growing in number when compared to the amount of smaller, centered "neutral" lips. That might be adding to people's complaints -- they keep reaching for the same lips over and over, while new sets are released, but their use is highly limited as they try to depict some sort of well defined expression. (Similar things could be said about some eyes, but we still have a larger variety of eyes than lips, I believe.) Which is not bad, mind you. Facial expression is one of my favorite things ever. It's just that when you have several eyes and several lips, each of them depicting a different, stronger expression, it becomes much harder to match things. Which basically only means there must be a balance n_n /pointless ramble

In short, I think I can say I enjoy certain subtle expressions better because of their versatility when it comes to matching other facial items. They're also less tricky when it comes to fitting the HA's limitations (the reason why these will probably be used more the way they are now), but I sure would like to see different concepts coming up c:

I find it a little unlikely to see this becoming a transformable... I mean, the revamps that do get such options are the exception rather than the rule, mostly because there's always someone who prefers the old version :x But I'm still perfectly fine about it happening, as I see these lips were rather unique, and it's a fair thing to do if it was originally changed due to public requests.

Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the original - it was over just a bit too far - but I really, REALLY liked the idea. When I saw this topic, I honestly figured that they lips had been nudged in just a bit to make the pout more...'viable', I suppose? It's sad that they're just dead-center now, but they do still look good! Either way I really hope they do more lips pouting off to the side like that, albeit at a more plausible distance from the center of the face. I love dat expression~!

Honestly I'm glad for the change. To me, the lips did not look pouty, they just looked really off with the angle of the HA face.
