So I found a shop that has a rather offensive name (offensive to some people, at least, and not appropriate for this site I think) but I haven't been able to find anything in the rules about shop names. Are there rules about offensive user shops? Should I create a ticket to report it?

If you think the Shop might be offensive it would be good to make a Ticket about it just to let Staff know, and then they can decide if it is inappropriate or not. :)

There's no rules about shop names other than the standard ones on Subeta, that being PG-13. At least none that I know of.

But if you think it's truly awful, file a ticket to bring it to the attention of the staff. If it's one of those couple shop names that have come up before (trust me, there's a couple where it's like openly taunting users), it's best to just leave it be.

ha! I think I know the ones you mean, shop names that look like error messages and stuff. This one isn't just obnoxious, it's probably pushing the PG-13 line so I think I will create a ticket and see what the staff says. Thanks all for the input :)

Let me just be one to say that, I've come across many that are offensive or just down right nauseating, if they don't want us to "report" all these because they might not technically be offensive, I'd like the option to block it.

That way I don't have to see it and I can continue to NOT purchase from it because I find it disgusting or offensive.

Yeah, good luck with that, I reported, complained, posted and ticketed a # of times, every time got my own head bitten off, but I'm happy to see I'm not the only one offended.

I don't really care if people give their shops slightly inappropriate names (looking at you, "My Vagina"), but I would definitely ticket a shop with a bigoted name.

I don't get it, some of them are just unnecessary but I guess that's why they pick them. Because they find it amusing or are just...well if I carry on with that thought this may turn into something bigger.

Yeah I'm not super upset about it or anything but as I said it's unnecessary and there are plenty of other options that aren't gross or "offensive."

I could name at LEAST 5 shops other than the one you are joking about that I think shouldn't be used. Like I said, I'd be MORE THAN HAPPY to be able to just put them on some sort of block list so I don't have to see them in the searches.

If only I could adblock Mcdonalds, my father and other stuff.

Suggest to the staff a filtering option just like we have for words on the forum?

I don't understand why so many people are offended by My Vagina, honestly?

I literally cannot go a week without seeing people debating in the forums whether or not My Vagina is appropriate. I hope staff never bans My Vagina from being used by any users who wants to.

My Vagina sees a variety of visitors every single day, and they all leave content. What has My Vagina ever done to you? If there is some reason you're not satisfied with My Vagina, perhaps take it up with its owner.

IMO shop titles should be subject to the language filter if they are not already. Perhaps the fight should be to add words like "vagina", "penis", "vulva", etc. to the filter list if they are not already.

I think this is the third time in a month that complaining has happened.

I'd rather not say what shop I started the thread about, for reasons I'm sure you can guess. I would also like some sort of a block list, if that were possible. It's less than I am personally offended by the shop name and more than I sometimes access this site from work, and it's not something I want someone to see on my screen :p

Considering how little the title of a shop is seen (I hardly notice them since they are a single lkne of text) I thonk asking the site to work out a filter would be a ridiculous waste of reasources.

Even asking them to add benign words would be pretty lame since it would like lead to more and more 'add this' 'why isn't X on the list'

If you are that offended by words that aren't profane or over the PG-13 limit, that is an issue you should address on your own time and look for word blocking add ons for your browser.

If you don't like my shop name then do me a favour and don't buy from me, don't give me your attitudes and complain about me behind my back. If you have an issue with me comment me/sMail me or just block me.

With that being said, I will not be changing my shop name again.

For those unaware, a Vagina is a part of the female anatomy. It brings pain and pleasure, helps bring life into this world. Without a vagina, technically you probably wouldn't be here.

I have had my shop named My Vagina for 7 years. I have it named such because it amuses me, its a personal amusement for me. It is not meant to offend everyone and their uncle, hell I don't even care if anyone actually buys from me. I did it for my own reasons. This didn't start out as "I wonder how many people I can piss off with this".

Its seriously a simple choice of skipping my shop in the user search when buying things. So kindly stop harassing me in the forums with this crap.

I noticed this not long after I joined. It seems it's a sly way for people to use offensive language and get away with it. I would like a filter put in place for the shops, as I dislike any type of offensive language. I wouldn't want to go as far as to block someone because of a shop name, though. Maybe file a ticket and see where it goes.
