I'd really like to be able to have different categories for SP in the vault. For instance, if I'm saving for an item that's 25mil, I'd have the ability to create a separate savings pool for that (like how IRL banks have different savings accounts?) instead of having all my SP in one big pool.

i really, really, really like this idea and support this idea. i hate trying to save up for things, and then touching my sP in the vault, and realizing i tapped into the funds that were there for whatever i was saving up for. ><

I dislike this idea. Why create a second vault to further complicate the sp vault? The reasoning of not being able to save up to a certain amount of sp for an item seems to be an issue of sp management on your end, not the vault itself.

Some further questions to take into consideration:

 • Would this "savings" vault have a daily interest? If so, at what rate? Higher or lower than the current sp vault? Why?
 • What fees are incurred when opening this "savings" account?
 • How many "savings" vault can we have? What is the limit?

Yeah I don't see the point. If you're not good at saving sP, I don't see how having a separate space for it would help you save anything. You're still going to want to spend it, because you know that it's there.

Trust me, stashing away CSC cards in my vault doesn't help me stop spending CSC either

It seems like uneeded complications.

If you want to separate and keep track, the Notepad widget would be helpful

I think some people on here create shops specifically for saving up/generating sp for items they want sometimes. Its easy to put a ton of vended or quested items in a shop and have them resell and keep the sp saved in the shop till until you've reached your sp goal

just a friendly suggestion ;)

I love this idea! For the people who don't favor this -- I see it more as dividing the bank into 'piles' of sP, rather than actually 'savings accounts' with restrictions on when you can withdraw and penalties if you do so prematurely. All piles are tallied together, sP could be moved between them to adjust sP goals, etc. It would be a way to organize your sP totals and goals within the bank itself, rather than tracking shop tills.

There's really no need for this. If you're having trouble saving up you can try keeping sP in your shop till. You can also keep track of how much sP you're saving for certain goals in the notepad on here or in a document on your computer.

I will love you forever if you trade me:

Honestly, why not buy something expensive that holds its value and sells quickly, like GA Medals or CSC cards, and stick it in your item vault?

Yeah I'm not really in support of this. It just seems unnecessary, especially with all the other suggestions people have pointed out.

No thank you, if you want a place to store sP Just open a new shop and only sell stuff in there until you hit the amount you want in the till. This just complicates things that don't need to be complicated.

The fact that people use shop tills sort of suggests that this is a feature people actually do need.

I don't think it sounds complicated or game breaking. It sounds practical, just like having categories for our items is practical.

I still think its silly that people use shop tils, but there you have it. I honestly don't think its needed - people just need to learn some self control :)

I am one that uses my shop till and I hate having to do it. I was saving for Christmas so I haven't touched my till in ages. At some point I will take it out and then have to spend it all to be sure I don't lose it to a random event. I make a point not to touch what is in my vault. I would love to be able to separate the sp in my vault. I think 's idea is perfect.

Lmao. It's like your real bank account. Even if you have 1,2, 4+ bank account distributed like I do, nothing is "blocking" you to spend money to your heart content. It's the same as having one bank account and putting everything there. No one has control on your impulse to spend except you. It doesn't matter how many bank accounts you have if you cannot control your need to splurge sP.

Pretty useless to me.

"Further complicate"? The sP vault isn't even complicated to begin with.

The savings vault(s) could have the same interest rate as your main vault. It doesn't need to be higher or lower. I think opening up Savings Accounts should be like opening up shops/galleries. The first three are free and for every one you open up after that costs a fee of sP. The limit should be ten.

Evidently, not everyone on this site has their own job and thus would ask their parents for money to use on the site. Obviously saving up the sP for one of these items takes away the whole point, so that option is out. If they are unable to get CSC, then this is just completely useless. Not everyone can, even for people who do have their own jobs. The money could simply just not be there. I think we need to work on making the site more sP only user friendly, rather than always turning to CSC for things. I understand it helps out the site and I'm not saying annex it completely. I use CSC myself. But going around the site without CSC is rather disheartening because you see something for it on just about every page. So for people who can't get it because of whatever reason, it really is a pet site turn-off.

I don't understand what is so complicated about this idea? It could be set up just like how opening up a new shop/gallery is. And opening up a whole new shop just to use it to save your money in the till seems more complicated than just opening a new account. If I used that method, I would hate that. My method is simply calculating how much I have to go before a goal, and then making sure I have enough sP for it. But I feel like that if we had separate accounts, or "piles" as put it, we wouldn't touch those piles. In real life, if you had your regular checking account for bills/important things, a savings account for throwing money, and a savings for a new car, you're not going to really touch your two savings accounts for bills unless you have to. You can also put a certain percentage of what you make for a day (doing quests, shop till, etc.) into your savings account everyday that you make money.

I'm pretty sure the fact you think using ship tills is silly in itself is a reason that we need this. Also, the best thing about it possibly being a feature, is that IT'S TOTALLY OPTIONAL! WOW! YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE IT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!

All in all, I think this is a very good idea and I hope that we can have this idea incorporated into the site! :)

Every time I see this suggestion I support it, among all of the "lrn 2 control urself" retorts. It'd be useful, it'd be much easier than constantly updating a notepad file somewhere, it'd be great for the holidays where you know you want to spend x amount on gifts, and I don't think it'd be that difficult, frankly.

It'd be like a ton of other features on site that are "useless" to some people, but others use them constantly. Like Galleries, pet leashes, wardrobe drawers, etc.

Using wardrobe drawers as an example. A BUNCH of people use them religiously. Others are just like "remember the item you're looking for" and don't.

It's a petsite. A game. Not a budgeting tool or a check register or a fiscal education app.

I really would like this idea. It's not that I can't control my spending, but that it would make it easier for me to save for a goal. Just because I might be able to afford something now, maybeee I want to save up to buy it without cutting into my current SP hoard. A separate 'savings' account would be great for that.

As long as it isn't a big strain on the servers, I am all for it!
