The new gift box is cute and all... but I do hope we can keep our icons. I love them and I love seeing them. They are so easy to spot and it makes it fun to notice people you don't know and tell them happy birthday.

The fact that the little present icon is the exact same color as a regular user icon- seriously? I agree that the cake is MUCH easier to see. Bright neon cyan on a white bg? ok

PLEASE just put the cake icon back... I've never liked this change, but in fact the present icon is a recent thing, for many many months there wasn't even an icon at all... :/ I feel bad for the people who had their birthdays then, no one probably noticed at all...

And yes, before anyone asks, your birthday is about being noticed. That's why people have the birthday icon enabled in the first place. I don't think it's greedy or selfish to want to be simply NOTICED on your birthday, it's not like they're begging everyone to send a gift.

support I wouldn't even have noticed that giftbox meant it was someones birthday until I saw this board... If they're going to keep the box it should be BIG and colorful to let you know that it's someones birthday. Right now it just looks like same as the other user icon....

The cake is on everything BUT the forum threads. I think it is fine as the present since it is more streamline on the forum threads.

I would like the color changed at least to make it stand out a little more. I will miss the cake though, I preferred it's cuteness over the box. I like giving wishlist gifts to random people who I notice are having their birthday via the cake icon in the forums.

I almost said it when it was implemented, but I felt I was being nitpicky xD I agree that, being the same color as the regular user icon, the present is harder to spot, and I do miss the cake!

Yeah, I would appreciate this. The cake still shows on friends lists and if you create/have the most recent post in a thread but it would be nice to have the cake back on forums themselves

I will never, ever notice the gift box, because it looks incredibly similar to the user icon, or whatever. Maybe it matches the forums better, but if staff was concerned about things being streamlined to the degree that they wanted to get rid of the cake to make things look better, Idk why they bothered to keep any sort of notification. I'm probably never going to notice it as it is, so if staff won't bring back the cake, it might be nice if they could at least change the color, or something. D:
