I agree the cake was much nicer and easier to spot. If we can't have the cake back then at least a different colour for present so it can be seem easier.

I understand that the present matches the bland user icons now - but I do not like them.

I really prefer the cake over this new present icon.The cake was so much brighter and noticable,while its too easy to miss the matching colored present.If we can't get it back,then can we at least get a spectrum or blacklight colored present so we can see it?

I totally miss the birthday cake. That gift box just doesn't cut it. It also doesn't seem nearly as special :/

A pink box with red ribbon or red polka dots would be easy to spot.... but I still prefer the cake

I'm never in a million years going to notice that box. It's the same colour as our user icons, what is the point of that? That's just saying "don't notice me, I blend in".

The cake stood out and I preferred it that way. There's a reason we can enable or disable the birthday icon and this, to me, makes it pointless to even enable it.

Dang, when did they do this? My birthday was at the end of October and it was still the cake then... Is it only on forums? Either way, yes, I agree the cake should return. The gift box is way too miniscule and blends in with the other user icons. :/

I get that it may need updating from the old pixel-thing, but a bit of color def needs to happen. The whole point is for us to notice other people's birthdays. There's an option to not have the icon, so having it blend in seems pretty lame.

honestly the gift box works in a design sense, simply bc it uses the user's account color and it remains uniform with the theme of the new forums. but uh yeah in a practical way it doesn't serve its purpose - which is to have an obvious way for other users to recognize birthdays.

i think an alternate color choice that either isn't used on the forums, or maybe made into a little graphic (rather than a symbol/vector/whatev) that uses multiple colors instead would work well!!

Indeed! I support either making the new icon more colorful and easier to spot, or bringing the cake back. So long as people can notice!

Yeah, the cake was one of my favorite parts of Subeta because it showed how thoughtful the community is. Without even being in any clique, big or small, I would tend to get at least one gift from someone I've never chatted with before. Despite my usual attempts to shy away from the social scene, it's nice to be noticed like that on my birthday :'p

Wow I never would have noticed that unless someone had posted a screenshot. I definitely prefer the cake - is there a reason this was changed? Like was the cake not working or did they just decide to use a different icon?? Confused as to why this needed changed.

:/ Yeaaah. Not liking the giftbox either. I love the cake icon far more-- it stands out far better. The gift box definitely needs to be tweaked to where it stands out more. :/

One of my friends has a bday today and she has the cake icon? Did it come back??

i don't mind the gift box, the color of it is nice. though i do think the cake is easier to see.
