I'll be honest, I'm feeling a little self-conscious eue but I know it looks fine, so it shouldn't last. It wasn't anything like the picture I brought in, but that's okay! The person in the picture had a different hair color and texture, so of course it was different.

I'm a little bit nervous, too... I don't know how to take care of short hair! Is there anything I should know?

Well, I know I need to brush it a few times a day to keep the oil off, and I know it's going to be too oily for the first few weeks while my head adjusts. I also know to only use about a nickel's worth of shampoo.

Anything else, tho?

OH. And I know some people will ask - I /did/ donate it! It was thick enough for two wigs, so I actually donated double. ^-^

It's the best! I chopped my hair a couple summers ago and I think it was the best decision I ever made!

Honestly the only care I give mine is washing it every day (which is probably not the best care buuuut I don't wanna go through the adjustment period of washing it less heh) and just towel drying it. I don't even own a brush, oops. I do know I have to get a haircut about every month or it starts to drive me crazy, but you probably already knew about that. :P

The new hair looks great :) I sort of recently cut my hair the shortest it's ever been as well, about the length of yours. Like you mentioned, the only thing I really noticed was how frikkin fast it gets oily. I used to only wash my hair to detangle it, now I have to wash it to get rid of all the oil long before it gets tangly.

It was SO LONG before! That has got to feel so good in the shower to from long hair like that to short (I've had medium long hair and know how good it feels just to get a inch or two cut off.)

Thanks!!! I honestly should've asked the salon - they'd know, and I was only worried they'd try to sell me products. :T Like I can't say no or something! I guess I'm going to try every other day and see how things go. I need to get new shampoo anyhow.

Thank youuuu eue My hair used to get oily at the speed of light when it was long, so I imagine I'll have to wear hats every day until the oil calms down - assuming it will! I sure hope it will. It'll be nice not having to shower every day.

It was over four feet! ^-^ I was super proud of it, still am... I just got so tired of taking care of it! I've had it long for like 20 years - that's a lot!

This one. It was a bad angle for the dresser, and she was a little timid with the length, but she did it!

Props to her for everything, especially since I'm a massive baby that nearly fainted when she made the first cut. xux No exaggeration there at all, I had a tiny panic attack and nearly sprawled out on the floor. Face was ashen in the mirror. She just patted my shoulder and cut the other side really fast, then started talking to me. xD So embarrassing!

wow :D! I did the same about 6 years ago ^^ My hair reached my butt and was totally wrecked and had spliss, so I went to thr barber and she cut my hair to a nice bob ^^ But know I started to let it grew again :P

I did something similar - my hair was maybe only 3 feet though. Sold it, though; got decent money due to the thickness.

I think your hairdresser did reasonably though, based on the picture you showed her. Your hair is a lot thicker than the photo, which probably makes the biggest difference. You can experiment with texturising hair products if you want a more tousled look

Oh, my hair had split ends too. xD They weren't very visible for some reason, luckily. Good luck growing!

Word of advice - get several winter hats. You'll want them for the duration because your head can and will get cold.

Woah, that's a huge change! When I got mine cut short my head felt so light and free. Is it feeling nice?!

WOW! What a change! Looks fantastic, though. I just did a huge change with my hair on Friday as well. I work at a hair salon and one of the stylists had a few hours break and I was bored, so she did my hair! I was a light brown with blonde ends before and now I'm a redhead :o

wow that's A LOT shorter! You're super brave. I'm sure short hair is super comfy and easy to handle, but there's no way I'd get mine so short. It'd look terrible on me :'D But you look super cute with your new haircut!

I recently cut off all of my hair too!! It's so fun! I cut off my hair from 30 inches and got a pixie cut with 1/2 inch buzz with a couple inches on the top of my head. I cut it all off so I could stop dyeing it and grow it out to donate it, but then I bleached it and I've started dyeing it rainbow colors. So far I've had purple, teal, mint, and silver! But I'm eventually going to have to stop, since I'm going to be a veterinarian, so then I'll grow it for donation.

My hair is around mid back length. I really like that length, but it's very curly and becomes terribly annoying when I don't have it ironed. And I don't even want to start talking about how hot it is during summer! But I'm too afraid to cut it too short. I just can't see myself with that kind of haircut :'D
