Anyone is free to join this chitter chatter thread but the first couple of posts might seem a bit confusing as there has been a pre-conversation between myself and ! I want to up my forum posts, and I'm sure many people want to snag some lovely raffle tickets, so feel free to come on in, flop onto a beanbag or comfy chair, and talk up a storm :)

Lumina - I moved to France when I was 16 and during my time living there I did seasonal work, spending summers working close to home and winters in ski resorts in the alps - which I loved. My other half has a bus license and the international qualifications he needs to run a small transport company, and I have a passion for tourism and hospitality, so the main dream is to go back to France and get ourselves a small-ish chalet, maybe 5 or 6 rooms with the possibility of sleeping 2-3 people per room, and offer week-long stays, full board, with airport transfers and transport to the slopes (in other half's minibus) if we're not in the resort itself. I've got plans to do courses in accounting and bookkeeping and also food hygiene and heath and safety etc. while we're here in the UK. I have experience in cooking for large groups, and chambermaiding, and reservations experience from my previous jobs.

stares at the fresh and clean topic I love this. Time to go ruffle ticket hunting. <3

That idea just sounds so lovely and comfy at the same time. So much things that you can enjoy while actually working. It's not that kind of work where you constantly be stressed by your boss or colleagues, short on sleep and everything. That's something easily likeable, maybe even loveable. I wish I could be doing something like that as well, but sadly I'm still too young, inexperienced (too much school -.-) and extremely short on cash to think about making myself self-employed (I hope this is the right word for what I mean). I still need to complete an apprenticeship for the kind of work I did before moving to Switzerland, but as I said before it's not easy to find work fast. There's so much going on with the applications I'm still doing and the laws the people have here. /shakes head. It's so much easier in Germany! Switzerland is just... ugh, I can't even find the right word without being offensive. xD

I so hope that it all works out for you in the end and that you can easily move again to France with your husband (? yeah, you're married right?) and your kids. What I forgot to ask: Do you actually speak French? After twelve years living there it may be a stupid question, but you never know for sure. o:

You want to be pinged regularly when I post an answer? Or do you prefer just looking at it if you have the time? Pings can be really annoying sometimes.

I've just subscribed to the thread so hopefully it will tell me you've replied even if you haven't pinged me. What about you? Ping or no?

I love your new HA! I need to change mine - she's been in that outfit for quite a while now...

Yeah, I think I would really love it. We will have adaptable rooms, so if a group of friends want to come they can have 2 or 3 rooms between them with twin beds or bunk beds, maybe a couple of adjoining rooms if a family comes, parents in one room with a door directly connecting to the kid's room. En suite bathrooms for each bedroom, downstairs a couple of toilets, a large reception room with really comfy sofas and beanbags, open fire, maybe a games corner with a pool table or table football, big communal dining room with one long table that everyone sits around... And of course we'll do our best to organise it so that we don't have 60 year olds on a quiet winter retreat there at the same time as a bunch of 20-somethings who want to go out and get drunk every night lol

But I have had experience working in a hotel kitchen, I'll get breakfasts out and be making pre-ordered packed lunches for them to take onto the pistes with them if they want that, send them off for the day, clean rooms and make beds (deep cleans every saturday on turn-around, sheet and towel change on tuesdays), then go down and make lunch if any people are coming back for lunch, and start dinner prep...

It's all 4 or 5 years in the future at this point though - I need these qualifications and we need savings for a deposit on a place but... I know it will be hard work, and I know it will be tiring, but I also know we will absolutely love it.

I'm not actually married, but I've been with Dave for 9 years, so he's basically like my husband... and our son is 4 and a half now. I do speak fluent French, and also some Italian :)

So what are you doing in Switzerland? You moved there to be with your boyfriend? It's cool that he's Italian too! The food is sooooo good, you're right! when I go and see my nan she always makes so much delicious stuff...

Yeah, I did subscribe as well. Let's see if it goes through without pinging the whole time. But I guess it should work.

And thank you! It's not even really complete because I lack backgrounds. xD Even though I like wearables and customize my HA, I refuse to just put everything in my wardrobe. I would get so lost when I imagine having 10k+ items in there... but I definitely have to work on it more. Just shoved all of my SubQ in my gallery a few moments ago. You're also into CWs? Your hair seems like one. :)

Well, when you actually go down to France and build that business, I have to think about visiting you there, haha. :p No really, it's sounds lovely and has a familial atmosphere to it. It's also perfect for more relatives to visit at once without thinking about if you have enough room for them to sleep and stuff. Especially when you have a kinda big family. Normal households can't possibly let them all stay over. xD

The main reason why I'm living in Switzerland is actually my mother. We had huge arguments everytime and after her parents died in the same years she kinda got mentally ill. She wouldn't show it and let professionals help her, so she let her mood out on me everytime I did something wrong in her eyes. She's also the reason why I have no work, because she throw me out of the house while I was currently had an apprenticeship (nearly completed it -_-). I couldn't go to my father due to where he lives and I don't have the best relationship with him either (he's the kind of father that tends to do other stuff while he actually should look after his kids), so the parents of my boyfriend took me in and now I'm trying to find work here. You could say I'm starting a new life, but it's not going well so far. :> Like I said, finding a job is serious trouble... I had a few job interviews so far tho. No luck in getting them because of the missing applications I have to make here. The main problem is that I can't finish them because they expect me to FIND WORK first. I mean, how the heck should I find work if they won't let me register as a citizen while everyone at the interviews told me that I need to be registered first. That absolutely makes no sense. xD

We had his cousins here for three weeks and one of them is such a good cook omg. Do you tried Polpettone? THAT IS BY FAR THE MOST DELICIOUS STUFF I'VE EATEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE. Srsly. /drools. I have to learn how to prepare food like that... /absolutely can't cook.

I'm alright, home sick for the day. But bored out of my damn mind.

Figured I'd work on my pets while I have time since generally during the week I'm too exhausted to do anything on here.

What are you cooking? I should eat. Food is my favorite.

Get well soon. :/ Did you catch a cold?

I should also work on my pets, but I need some more ideas. I can't request art and a profile before being done with the stories first. And because I'm quite lazy or too overwhelmed with what my brain produces, I just can't get down to actually start writing something. It's a pain... I really want to finish at least one pet of mine. :x

Just a pizza snack I shoved in the oven, nothing I made myself. I can't cook. xD I'm off eating, but I'll be back in a few mins.

I had a cold which kicked my ass over the weekend and then turned into a sinus infection which has kicked my ass for three days. But I think the meds are working now and so I feel well enough to go back to work, even if I am still sick.

And god, I know about lazy and pets, I made a chatting board in the Pets Forum called "Lazy Pet People" where we all talk about how amazing our pets will be... once we motivate ourselves to do anything with them.

And oh man, Pizza is amazing. I love pizza.

I cooked some eggplant/onions/mushrooms/garlic the other day and just heated that up with some brown rice and grated some cheese on top of it. It was tasty as hell, but my stomach is so small now from not eating really for nearly a week that I couldn't even finish half of it!

Gosh, that sounds so awful. I'm glad that you at least feel a bit better through the meds.

Yeah, I know that thread. Lurked a couple of times and had the urge to just plant myself in as well... but I'm not a person who just barks in and joins existing conversations between people that eventually know each other for some time. Made bad experiences with being spontaneous. Other than that, I nearly spent an hour or so per day to actually sit down and think about my pets. I keep staring at them, visualize what they would look like, be like and ofc their background. And then... I just switch over to do something else. xD It's so crazy I can't even handle that laziness of mine. Well, I guess after a specific name I'm after clears, I'll start completing at least one of my pets, so I have enough motivation to keep going to another. I noticed that working on multiple pets at once isn't good for me, because I easily lose interest in them fast. x.x

/steals some cooking skills from you. I wish I could cook stuff like that. I should've learned it, but due to the work I once had I simply had no time for things like this. Glad that mankind invented snacks, instant soups and stuff... otherwise I would be dead by now.

You should def. Join in! Its a lot of fun being able to whine about TC item prices and stuff. I think it helps that others know what you're working on so when you're slacking off they can be like, "How is that pet coming along?" and you can shamefully go, "Lol, scratch cards and netflix!" and you know they are shaking their head at you... while they are doing the same thing :p

And I never have time to cook much anymore either. So it was a rare treat to get to cook this weekend. Hellz yeah.

Haha, alright. xD If it keeps me motivated, than I'm happy to crawl in sometimes. I'm kinda scared writing the stories tho, because I'm not native and I can't express myself well in english. I'm roleplaying a lot in my mother tongue and I have approximately 10 years of experience with it, but when suddenly switching to another language, my brain lacks the words to describe certain things, scenarios and emotions. That's really hard. v.v ...not to mention the grammar. /sigh

The mother of my boyfriend is Italian and she asked me once if I want to learn a bit about cooking. I should really accept that offer. xD

Can I ask where you're from, Nonchalant? I love your UN btw. It sounds so classy despite its actual meaning.

Well if you need someone to write the stories I always do them for 2k per word. So you can keep that in mind!

You should def. enjoy that, Italian cooking is like delicious as hell.

Haha, I'm in London but I'm from Chicago :p And thanks, its one of my favorite words!
