Hey guys!

So.. I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but well. Nothing subeta themed so I decided to put it on Chit-Chat.

Here we go: I have to do an internship starting in February during which I have to write my Bachelor thesis. So, I decided it would be nice to do so in Ireland - both because I'm interested in the country and due to practical reasons (I'm German btw).

Unfortunately I don't know much about Ireland and its cities so I thought: Why not ask the lovely people of Subeta? :)

I already had an interview with a company in Galway (not sure yet if they want me though) - so basically my question is if that's a good place to be and which other places might be nice? :) Of course I've also considered Dublin but I'm a bit scared that the prices for apartments will be a bit too much for me.. I'm a poor student.

I hope there are some Irish folks here who can help me - or maybe someone who knows a bit more about Ireland than I do :)

Well as I am from England I can tell you much about our neighbours in Ireland.

You're going to struggle to understand their accents. Irish are very chatty and bubbly, some are friendly some will want nothing to do with you. The education system in both the UK and Ireland are supposedly one of the best in the world, but as you're a foreign student you may have to pay extra to study in these regions. You can apply for student finance for some support but you wouldn't get as much money as the typical British/Irish student. I'm not sure what it's like living in Ireland either but it is a beautiful country.

To find out more, I suggest you check out these two websites, Education in Ireland and Student Finance Ireland

I hope that helps a tiny bit :P

Thank you for the reply :) I'm not actually going to study there (at least not at the moment unfortunately), I just want to do my internship there - which is a part of my studies, but I'm not sure that I will receive any finance support except for the salary I might have.. I was also considering to go to England but unfortunately most internships are - obviously - in London, and that's by far too expensive for me in terms of rent etc :( Are there any cities in England which are less expensive and good for working? :>
