I'm actually impressed this wasn't done right away because it has always been a thing to reward people just from entering contests here. This would be one of the measures to kind of sweeten things a bit for those who weren't in the winning teams but still worked hard on their bands.

First an achievement for anyone who simply joined a band and entered the contest with an exclusive item for doing so. Then another achievement for the people in the bands who actually made it to finals with an exclusive item + a forum title.

I don't know how viable that is now since the event is over, but at least it would be something to consider so people feel less cheated. If not possible to track everyone who joined I think at least the finalist bands could be awarded those achievements manually?

I would support an achievement for joining a band and trying. Possibly one for the people who were in finalist bands, but I'd honestly like trophies (based on how well they did) better in that situation.

Unfortunately I don't support more exclusive items of any kind, I think the ones we have already opened the door for a lot of arguments and name calling :/ I feel like if we got more, it would only amplify the issue.

Because people don't feel it's being fair? And it's something that should have been done anyway. The costume contests had prizes just for entering, why wouldn't this have it too?

I think in this case it would be acceptable because anyone could have entered the contest if they wanted to. The problem people are having is that they feel they worked hard for little return. In those cases it would be rewarding the people who 1st or all at least even tried, then the people who worked hard on the finals to win. But what the prize is is debatable tho, the only thing I saw a lot people wanting were the forum titles

Yeah, a prize for everyone who entered any band and tried would definitely be acceptable! I think an item on that one would be acceptable too.

About the finalist bands, I would be fine with an achievement (or trophy), possibly a title, but not an item (especially not if collectible), because then people could start arguing about how we never got to see all contestants, we never got to vote, so it's potentially not fair, etc. Plus, it doesn't address the complaints that HnR got way more things than anyone else (even super top scorers), since, you know, whatever the other finalists will get, HnR will too (and that would only be fair). :/

But the issue of us getting everything is harder to solve because I don't think removing items they already rewarded is a good thing to do! And I don't think that'd be a problem since in this case only the band members would get the new reward, people wouldn't be so pissed, because the biggest complaint I see people having is that they think a lot of people did fuck all during the whole event and still got a lot of prizes because they picked the right band. They don't have any complaints about the band members themselves getting everything.

You're right, I don't think the issue of HnR people getting everything (or almost) is possible to solve at this point! I understand staff's point of availability, I personally think it would have been best addressed via a prize shop but what is done, is done and things definitely shouldn't be taken away (:

Well, there were a few people complaining about there being so many exclusive items, in the availability sense. Some users just aren't happy that we're getting so many items of which there will only be (potentially) a handful on the site ever, you know :c It only becomes worse if we're talking about collectibles, because those go poof once used x_x But either way, the more exclusive something is, the less attainable it is as a goal, which is a turnoff at any time when it comes to official items.

I don't think it would be too bad, I DO think other band members deserve more, but, at this point, I'm way too much of a pessimistic to believe other people wouldn't bring out the pitchforks for whatever item the new exclusive thing would be. D:

I don't agree with removing items. They already screwed up with adding collection items to the mix, esp as an exclusive item, so I'd rather them not add more items, since they'd probably screw that up even more. But! they could easily distribute the other non-exclusive HnR items (like the flyers and plushies) to the other finalists bands (at the very least). This makes things a bit more fair.

So: -Achievements for making a band (and maybe these people can at least get a flyer/plushie for that genre, since I'm not sure what they even got) -Achievement for band finalists (and all flyers/plushies) -Achievement for genre winners and a forum title?

• I'm not sure exactly what the top three highest score people got, so maybe something special for them (again not a new item)

There's nothing they can do about their poor prize distribution ideas in retrospect, but they can at least try to even it out now that it's a hot mess.

I like the idea of the achievements for the making a band, finalists, genre winners, and the winners. The forum title for the winners of the genres would be nice for those that won too or maybe even making into the finals. They could make some spiffy titles. ^_^

I just don't get why everyone needs an 'exclusive' item for each special-flower group/aspect of the event that they did well in. I feel like a lot of what is driving people to demand it now is the fact that they didn't get exclusive items in the first place. I really though Subeta had learned it's lesson with the Seed Planting Diary and Rake thing debacle, that special, exclusive prizes, especially ones that we don't know ahead of time what we need to do to get it (ex the sticker for scoring in the higher tiers - I didn't play the game as much as I could have because I wasn't feeling well during that part of the event, but I would have made a concerted effort if I had known I would get a sticker).

*blah reading that part back now I guess that's a poor example, but I hope people know where I'm going with that - secret, surprise exclusive items never turn out well for us when they are part of event prizes

I wouldn't mind achievements/forum titles for entering a band - tbh with as much as they hyped how big a deal it was for us to do that, I'm sort of surprised there isn't something for that. Also for genre winners and the grand-prize winners. More special items though is just too much.

I don't know about items, but I would like to see a tiered set of achievements for making a band, making it to finals, and winning the BotB.

I don't know about exclusive items either. There's enough angst everywhere without adding fuel to the fire. ;l I don't think more exclusive items will salvage anyone's feelings about how the actual exclusive prizes were handed out if they had a problem with it.

That being said, I love the idea of achievements. Peka-boo wasn't really an achievement rich event in the first place. We could really use some botb achievements now that it is all over. And forum titles. Because yeah. Why not.

I'm fine either way with there being achievements added... but it won't make staff's clusterfuck method of distributing prizes any fairer.

Yeah, I know that... staff has said or implied many things, sometimes contradictory ones. They've said we're not meant to have everything, they've said they want Subeta to be an attainable game for newbies, they've said retired things are never retired forever, someone else mentioned on the Feedback thread that they've implied they wanted to move away from super exclusive items in events/plots... so I really don't know what they want xD

My personal opinion (that matters nothing xD) is that collections are a big part of the site, like pets or HAs, and should be attainable at some point. So... that exclusive sticker, which probably has sentimental value to most members of HnR, will probably be the cause of many complaints.

I care a lot less when it comes to limited wearables, but, either way, I'm not a collector of any kind -- I just vote against more exclusive things being made right now because I'm tired of the "they deserve" vs "they do not deserve" arguments. Those quickly became very ugly to watch :/

I thought we WERE going to get something just for forming a band. A lot of others seemed to be under that impression too. However they went about explaining it, it left a lot of people with that impression, so I definitely think at least something small just for joining or forming a band isn't too much to ask.
