So far, we've got items that are name-changers, species-changers, gender-changes, and color-changers.
But what if we wanted to change our "battle pet"? For awhile, I've been wishing that I had trained a different pet besides my battle pet -- now that I think about it, a more suitable pet to be my battle pet would be my BR Kora rather than my BR Demi. (In both appearance and character, as my Kora is just.. absolutely ferocious compared to my Demi. xD So it'd fit more.)
Is there any potential for an item that swaps the Strength, Defense, Health, Speed and Intelligence between two of your pets?
Oh, I would love that. I don't think it's likely to happen, but if it's possible, I completely support this idea.
Actually, that would be really nice. My Lain was my first pet, so I started training him first and he has the highest stats out of all my pets (not that that's saying much x_x). Unfortunately I don't want to switch battle pets to something more appropriately ferocious and lose what little progress I've made training.
I think this would be a good cash shop item, or maybe millionaire center? Maybe something as expensive or more expensive than, say, the most expensive of the color and species changing items. $30 in the cash shop?
It's not an idea that appeals to me. It's not that hard to switch the species, colors or even names of pets, so you could essentially switch battle pets already. Or if you want one of your other pets to be a battle pet now, then you can train it instead. shrugs
This is an interesting idea. I can see people using it (the only reason my current battle pet is such is because it had the highest stats when I started training and now it's too impractical to start training another one given how much work I've put into this one). The problem is that it probably would not be used very often, so it might not be worth it for the staff to put the work into creating such an item.
I fully support this idea!
I disagree. While it IS 'easy', not everyone has that kind of cash to throw around - which brings me to my next point. I'm going to use myself as the easiest example - I've trained Twilight for about a year. Finally, I'm getting close to my first goal, which is 100 lvl and 250 everything else. Now, recently I adopted Internet. With nothing going for Internet character/pet profile wise, it would be nice for him to have SOMETHING. Now, if I wanted to switch around, then I would need two of everything. And not only that, I'd need to make yet another pet, and start Twilight over on a new pet, and essentially be disowning Internet (since I would most likely re-name him 'blue245675' and then pound after giving his name to Twilight), and THEN I would also have to start again on chest slots, which would also be very expensive.
This option would be easy, cheap and hassle free way of going about things :)
I personally feel that if this was an item option, it should be expensive and not something cheap. So I don't know if it would really be any cheaper than the current way right now because especially essentially it is doing EVERYTHING at once, changing name, species, gender, color.
While it's something I could definitely see myself using in the future (if the cost was comparable to the wand to change a name), I don't really see it happening...
Oh yeah, that's true actually. xD; It really lands on what the staff decides to do, though if they ever considered this. I mean, how many people would buy it at $30+? Not a lot, I imagine. Now, at $10? I would guess plenty of people would dig into their pockets at that price. I'm thinking there must be quite a few people who would love a new battle pet without having to actually train them up :P
For $10 you can change the name though. I feel this should cost more because you are added all those hours put into training to a pet that has far less put in. You are changing the name AND stats all at once...
I personally don't count the cost of a color change because most things are too expensive (with the exception of angelic)
That's a nice idea ^^ Although assuming both pets aren't coloured, right now it'd take 3 EHWs to swap battle pets. As long as the cost is below that, it'd be worth it.
(Sorry, pinged you by mistake)
I am strongly against this. It doesn't even make sense to switch around stats. Just change your pets name/color. I would be really surprised it something like this got implemented.
I would love this for the reasons NIGHT and Isis mentioned. As easy as it would be for some users to buy 3 EHWs, 2 potions if the pets you want to switch are well colored, and a ton of MKBs to make up for the new treasure spots, it's not feasible for the rest of us. Also, I think 30 dollars would be a reasonable price, because it would be roughly around the cost of 3 EHWs and would still be cheaper than if we had to manually redo treasure chests and pet species/colors ourselves, thus making it worth it for people like me to buy the it.
Erm.. then what's to stop people from maxing out a pet against opponents in the BC and then transferring the stats to another pet and then battling with that pet? Why would anyone bother training more than one pet then? For the serious battlers I doubt that $30 would stop them from doing just that if it meant they had another opportunity to beat Saggi(and others) and get his exp/drops/etc.
Maybe I just don't understand. :/
But to shell out 30 dollars each time? I personally don't think that it would be worth it sp-wise, because Sag's Lucent only costs around 24 million. (I just checked prices now, so if I'm sorely mistaken about their usual price, please tell me.) 30 dollars is equivalent to about 51 million sp.
Honestly, yes, I believe that the big hitters in the BC would happily shell out $30 a pet if they could move stats from one pet to the next in order to have another 10 rounds with an opponent. Every time a new pet beat the challenger it would get exp (which would be added for more stats, which would then be moved to another pet for more exp) and possibly an exclusive drop. Those players have spent years training their pets to their current stats and the ability to suddenly move those stats around would most likely far outweigh the cost. $30 is nothing when compared to the length of time it takes to train a good battle pet.
Doesn't even make sense to me to do this, and there's too many ways it could be abused.
I agree. For example, let's say I own the number 1 ranked pet on Subeta. That pet is over 3000 on level, 10k+ on HP, and 4500+ on everything else. What's to stop me from adopting your pet, transferring my pets stats to your pet and then a month later sending your pet back to you so you can battle everything and then transfer the stats to all your pets, battling with them, and then transferring the stats back to mine. It would require a lot of work, but it would most certainly not stop players from doing it.
I'm sorry, but this is really a horrible idea. :/
A battle pet is an investment. An EHW/Potion is also an investment. If you can spend the sP and time to train a pet, you can buy a wand and a potion. My battle pet has been through 3 different names and colours in the last 3 years, making sP is like breathing in air. I'm with the others on this, it isn't a very good nor practical idea.
As you said, an item like this would make it so that one doesn't have to spend years training multiple battle pets. What is so bad about that? As it is right now, all money spent on training just gets zapped into nowhere. If this item were to be created as a cash shop item, and if battlers are so adamant about battling, it could raise a ton of money for the site.
EDIT
Then an item like this would also be an investment.
Never thought of that. Great point.
