One of the main reasons behind changing the BC to its current state was to encourage players to train their pets. Keith wanted something to motivate players to train so they could beat the hard challengers. Having an item like this would completely undermine all that work. Training is SUPPOSE to be an sP sink. If the Subeta economy is never ridding itself permanently of sP (through things like training) then there will be way to much sP floating around on the site. By permanently deleting sP from the system they are combating inflation.
There are other items that can be added to the cash shop for monetary support to the site that won't totally wreck the way things are done.
If sp inflation is the case, it could also be made into an one-time use, incredibly expensive millionaire shop item instead of a cash shop item. Buying a 50 million item 10 times in the millionaire shop would probably sink more sp than spending 4 years (assuming they even stay on the site as long) training a couple of pets.
Yes, I agree that there are other things that can be added to the cash shop, but why rid yourself of a potentially great source of revenue? Especially since they've already resorted to paid sponsorships?
Finally, there would still be training going on. Many people, like me, would not be able to afford 50 million/30 dollars multiple times and so, if I wanted multiple battle pets, I would still have to use the training center.
Not true. I am personally spending more than 1.5m a week (6 mil a month)to train my pets and I have two relatively weak pets. The top battlers have easily spent/are spending more than 50m for the training their pets are receiving because the higher the pet lvl the more costly it is to train. Also, you have to take into account the amount of "free training" they would be getting from all the exp those top opponents give out. If they can get that exp 10 times per pet, I'm sure they would happily fork over the sP to do so.. it would cost less in the long run and would take a hell of a lot less time.
