I get the strongest, random urges to go back to AIM even though I don't have anyone to talk to anymore. Anyone what miss it, or still use AIM? Or have you moved to newer IMs like kik abd such?

I miss AIM, haha. I think it was a pretty decent messenger, but hardly anyone I knew around here used it. Only a few online friends.

Most of my friends use Skype and I really dislike it. It's bulky, full of ads and can't really be customized.

I miss AIM. I used to go on all the time when I was in middle school. I have a few friends that use it but they only use it for RP's.

I actually miss the older setup AIM had, before it started looking like yahoo IM. I hate Skype.. I only use it when my niece wants to see me and we can't get together or when she's spending the night with me and misses her mom (she's 6), and for my son to see his grandmother who lives a few hours away. I would never use it for like every day conversation though.

that's kinda what I had AIM for, talking to my online friends mostly. I had a few friends from school I'd talk to on there but it was definitely more friends from online, people I roleplayed with and really enjoyed talking to even if it wasn't about RPing.

Now that I think about it my friends used the MSN Messenger more than they did AIM. It more of a short lived kind of thing.

I used both.. hah Idk what I was thinking; I'd be messaging people on MySpace, using myYearbook chat, and typing away on AIM and MSN at the same time.. like generally the same people lol. it seems like the only thing I didn't use was yahoo IM and ICQ

Oh wow thats a lot! I never had a MySpace or a myYearbook but I had friends who did. And I didnt use either of those either, but my parents both use Yahoo because a lot of our family members have it.

I think I last used it two years ago. Or well I used the program pidgin which combined AIM, MSN and a few other things (like trillian), but I switched out of it because I only had one friend who used it and I talk with them on facebook chat now anyway. And I pretty much use google hangouts to chat with my boyfriend. Other than that I either text with friends or contact them in other ways, like gmail, facebook, skype, facetime, etc.. I hardly use skype or facetime, but it's useful for when my friends and family are farther away.

Edit: In terms of myspace I think I deleted mine in '09. I used to use Yahoo ID and ICQ once too, but not for much. I pretty much tried just about everything.

Nope. It was a pain in the rear end to find a download for it when I "needed" it.

I used to use that all the time. And then back in my Neopets days, there was this girl I was friends with who I used to chat with all the time and all of a sudden, she got super bitchy and was accusing me of cheating and art theft and all kinds of random shit that wasn't true and blocking her didn't work for whatever reason, so I stopped using it.

Haha, yeah I remember AIM. I only talked to a few friends from school, oh and this one guy I roleplayed with for like 5 months. I uninstalled and reinstalled that thing on my computer more than zoo tycoon. (that's sayin something, trust me.)

I used to use that mad when I was younger. Haven't used it in ... three good years. I use yahoo messenger for a few online friends or kik, but that's about it.

AIM is more of a nostalgic thing for me. Many a great conversations had using it.

I downloaded it once again out of curiosity, but no one was ever on so I ended up uninstalling it. Now, I usually just use either line( for overseas friends) or Facebook for messaging most of the time.

I use it daily and there are people i talk to on it :)

I don't use AIM anymore; I remember using it all the time, though. My best friend all throughout highschool was an online friend and we chatted through AIM I feel like 24/7.

I use Line to chat with a lot of online friends now. Mostly I just think the stickers are really fun + I like the convenience of having it on my phone.

AIM still exists? I haven't used it in a good 5 years or so. I used it a lot when I was in high school/ right out of high school. Now I just use facebook or text people.

I still use AIM. I downloaded an older version, and I primarily use that to keep up with people. Speaking of... If anyone on a Subeta who knows me uses that, it's a good start. My UN is Kai.

AIM is very nostalgic for me, I actually logged into it again a few months ago. I used to use the crap out of AIM and MSN (before it merged with Skype.) I agree with everyone's general disdain of Skype.. Its chocked full of ads, super bulky and just glitchy for me.

I only have aim open once ina blue moon when I check my aol emails. But, if it means I can pester you more often... .... >_>
