I use AIM frequently. and Yahoo, and google talk. I use an open source IM which comes with its own channel as well as supports almost every chat program out there....so I can go on that one place and talk to everyone without having four programs open. But the fact is even with that on... I have my a Aim and Yahoo channels open nightly on that. XD so yes I use Aim LOL
I am an inveterate RP junkie...this would be why XD
We are the ones who remember, the ones who see what was, and is, and will be.
Me~
Wow, I used to use AIM all the time for years! :o I just use Skype IM now most of the time.
I used to be logged into AIM 24/7.. like literally I had who knows how many away messages for all kinds of stuff, I'd leave my computer and AIM logged in while I was at school, asleep, etc etc. During school in study halls or anytime the class went to the library my friend and I would install AIM and chat with each other. I can't remember how we got around the blocks, but every time we logged on the school computers it would be erased so we'd install it again lol. Lots and lots of memories with AIM and friends past -stares off dreamily-
I was more MSN but I did use AIM as well, back in the day (10+ years ago). I had two irl friends that only used AIM but my online friends all used MSN. Now I'm solely Skype. I used Yahoo off and on for awhile too. Now I don't.
I used it when we first got our old computer, but it was only because one of my family's friends used it and would message us all the time with the sound of a dog barking and that got our dogs barking too.
After I learned about msn, i switched to it. Most of my online friends were using it anyways. Then Skype decided to move in. I refuse to use it because it seems really confusing and new and I've no use for it lol.
A while back I downloaded a messenger that's compatible with all kinds of other messengers and I've been using it ever since.

I'm guilty of popping on there now and then...
I miss AIM so much actually, but I do use Skype a lot. It's decent for the purposes. However I agree with whoever above said they miss the customization of AIM versus how Skype can't be customized at all. Like I had my AIM set up and tailored perfectly. It made me so happy. Now no one I know uses it, just like 80% of the people on this board. I kept logging on it to see if anyone else had signed on at all, or still used it but after about 6 months of nothing I gave up and moved on. Haha I never thought anyone else missed it, always thought it was just me.
I still use AIM to text my friends who don't use facebook. I have a cheap tracfone so I avoid texting on that and wasting minutes. But I don't talk to anyone really that actually uses AIM too. Not since about two years ago. My ex and I used to solely talk on AIM until we broke up in the middle of 2012.
We should all get AIM again and talk to each other.
