I am working on a novel at the moment. I am from england and have never been to america but at the moment i am writing a part set roadtripping from area 51 Nevada to the white house, washington DC. I am looking for kind folks to tell me about the places that i encounter. i am using google earth to look but i would rly like a feel from residents and visitors. The trip is as such: It starts in nevada on the extraterrestrial highway, i could REALLY use the help of anyone who has been to CALIENTE in nevada. after that i am looking for people who can help me along the root from there through : UTAH, COLORADO, KANSAS, MISSOURI, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, OHIO, WEST VIRGINIA, PENNSYLVANIA, MARYLAND, VIRGINIA, ANY of the places along the way would be a big help if i had someone to talk to me about them. Even just interesting facts, how the place looks and feels, sights, monuments and attractions along the way, ANYBODY who feels maybe they can help in some small way i would appreciate hearing from either by message or comment on here :) Thanks in advance

I lived in Kansas for 6 months and Virginia for about 7 years, and driven through Colorado, Missouri, and Illinois. Illinois and Missouri (Misery! :P) are boring as hell to drive through. Colorado is amazing, beautiful mountain roads and such. I'm not sure how much help I can be, but feel free to ping and I'll do my best :)

Yes, you can do tours but it's a basic tour. You don't go to the Oval Office or anything. You have to be invited by the President to go in there. I do believe there are big dinners and what not but I'm not too sure about those. The White House website

I'm not sure how much I can help but, I've grew up in Dodge City Kansas (why yes, there is a Dodge City XD they didn't just make that up for the movies and television. Yes, I've actually had people surprised that it exists. It's not like Santa people), lived in north central Missouri (hella boring. All there is around there is farms) for seven years and now live in the northern panhandle of West Virginia (four years in fact).

Actually, as I think about it, I think I70 is the major route for anyone going west to east (or the other way). They'll end up getting on it sooner or later. If that's the case, I really can help for the West Virginia part of that. lmao That'll be you start at Ohio and, depending on traffic, 30 minutes later you'll be in Pennsylvania. There is totally not much to WV between Ohio and Penn.

I didn't go to the White House, per say, but I did visit the area around it to see it. But that was when I was 11. However, I did live in Washington, DC for a summer. So I might be able to help a bit with that.

I've never been to the White House, sadly.
