and use your brains. us civilized europeans are counting on the majority of you to make the right decision again!
I wish I could. Unfortunately, I have no way to get to the polls (no car, no bike, too far to walk, can't afford a cab or even the bus) and last I checked, transportation to and from the polling place isn't provided in my hometown. Wonderful, huh?
It also doesn't help that voting machines have apparently been found altering peoples' votes from Obama to Romney. If this is true, expect a massive backdraft once the media picks it up...
Find a ride and vote. Or go back in time to get an absentee ballot, it seriously took only a tiny amount of foresight.
Ugh, I saw that too. Reminded me of this clip from the Simpsons when Homer tried voting for Obama but the machine kept selecting John McCain, hahaha.
Anyhow, I lucked out cause the place I go to vote is, uh, a nice stroll down the street from me. :x TIS BE MY FIRST TIIIIIIIIME VOTING EVARRR WOO!
[edit] Just voted. Didn't realize how much local crap had to be covered on the ballot. x_x
"Finding a ride" presumes that I have any way of getting hold of anyone outside the house that doesn't involve IM programs - or any people to get ahold of, period (I don't. I know literally no one in this town except for my neighbors in the apartment building... and none of them have cars, either.) And while I'm sure my friends would love to drive me to the polls, the nearest one is 400 miles away at the moment and won't be off work until 8pm his time. And while I'm also sure that I could walk there if I was physically healthy, my lower back and knee injuries kind of keep me from doing so at this point.
And foresight would require being able to actually, you know... sit down and plan, and stick to that plan. Unfortunately, due to a combination of circumstances (i.e. living in an unpredictable and frequently high-stress environment, an anxiety disorder, memory problems caused by severe head trauma when I was a teenager, etc) it's a little hard for me to make plans and remember to stick to them.
Next time, before you cop a nasty attitude with someone, take a moment to maybe ask about and understand their situation before making snap judgments.

I am sorry you're physically, emotionally and mentally having some issues, but election coverage has been going on for a year and absentee ballots have been available starting a month ago. Your excuses aren't really great excuses when you consider how many important things you remember to do every day. It's extremely important to vote, and I would rather "cop a nasty attitude" and "make snap judgements" to convince someone to vote by any means possible, than to let them throw away their right to do so.
Everyone should vote, no matter what. It dishonours the soldiers that died fighting for our freedom if you don't.
Can't wait to see who America chooses, exciting times for us civilized europeans :P
yeah I did an absentee ballot and it was extremely easy and simple. we have the absentee ballot for a reason, if you can't make it to the booth take advantage of it!!
I'm highly intrigued about the results! I know who I would vote for, if I were an American citizen.
I voted! I'm terrified of the election results, though. It feels like it's so close. :(
I do feel that everyone should vote, regardless of whether they know which candidate to vote for. I am REALLY hoping that Romney doesn't win this election. If he does, then by the time he finishes his term, the country will no longer be called the United States of America. Instead, it will be called United States, Inc. and Romney will not be the president: he will be the CEO.

Already submitted an early ballot. I've been dying to see the results.
@ MrCool That's if he does finish term, if he were to get in. The fact that he's badmouthed Russia already...yeah, I don't think Russia would remain peaceful if we had 4 years of Romney. I may not be well-versed in issues with other nations, but Russia's always been our love-hate relationship of sorts. Being a running candidate and calling another country "the USA's geopolitical foe", doesn't come across as a good first impression in my book.
I voted earlier at noon with my mom; I decided to tag along with my dad this evening, so that he could vote and I could entertain him about my day. xD

It seems likely that Obama is going to win, but this is still nerve wracking as hell @
I hope so...

Thank you anon ;_; x10 March 4/21/21 (RIP Storm-buddy the leopard gecko- you lived a great 16.5 years.)
Just got back from the polls ! It looks like Romney is in the lead right now but it's way too soon to tell... even though it's just beginning, I'm worried for Obama
I'm pissed that I can't vote this year- I turn eighteen next week. :| c'mon, America, do me proud!
I almost did not make it to the polls. Our heater went out, I have my aunt staying with me who cannot vote as she's temporarily between homes, and STRONG disapproval from family. It was going to be a humongous trial to get there without being hollered at by ten people, as well as wait on the heater guy and make sure my aunt was able to get her winter jacket. I fortunately also have a kid who complained so much I took her home early after supper w/ aforementioned family and was able to get to the polling place open until 8 and get in and find out I needed to re register, get home, instruct the kid on proper home alone rules and get back in time. made it at 7:45 and got my sticker and wrote in who I felt were appropriate choices.
