Remember that time, way back when, when there were trivia questions every week and an awesome prize if you answered correctly? Yeah, what happened to that? I mean, I never won anything, but it was interesting learning more about Subeta and testing our knowledge on it.
Could we have trivia back please?

It got removed mostly cause of cheating. I don't think it's coming back.
I would love to have trivia back, but sadly, I doubt it will ever happen. Though, if they want to discourage cheating, maybe bring it back without prizes, or just a couple hundred sPs.

Yeah it was super easy to cheat. You just had to privately message someone off subeta, there was no real way to enforce the rule about not telling someone even off of subeta.
That's really unfortunate -- I mean, of course people are going to cheat! Ugh.

Staff was also having trouble maintaining it since it was something that had to be updated weekly.

But that was what was so cool about it (not the staff difficulties)--something that was new and updated every week, other than pet spotlights and such. Everyone loves contests. Ok, I'll take that back, there are a few crazies that don't like contests.

That actually isn't true. It was removed because it ended up being pretty useless because of the cheating.
I distinctly remember posting that while cheating was the main reason, there were coding issues with Trivia as well
That's good to know because I've heard the reason I mentioned pretty much every time Trivia gets brought up.

You may be misinterpreting general dread for the cheating every week for "hard to keep up with" or something, but cheating was definitely the reason. Trivia was my favorite and it's something I wish I could bring back, I would nurse it like my own child, but there's really not a way without the cheating so it isn't exactly worth it, you know?
what about having sp as prizes? like 10k or something? just to get the achievements and for fun (: 10k isn't a lot so cheating isn't that bad then
Having any sort of prize is unfair to those who actually tried at the Trivia, just like the achievement was unfair. There were people who actually worked to search for the answers while some people just simply googled them. It wasn't fair to reward those who cheated (and it was a lot of people).
is right. There were also coding issues with the system.
ok, I get it, they'll never ever come back :( :p
nice HA btw (:
When we took the trivia down, I posted a few times in the comments and forums that if we can come up with another system to do them I wouldn't mind bringing it back. We are currently working on revamping a number of our games, so maybe after we can revisit the Trivia. :)
ah, I see! (: looking forward to that moment then
I remember the trivia! I remember that it switched to calculus questions because people just googled answers and Inevergotasingletriviarightafterthat I'm terrible with math. :'I;;
Maybe have a random trivia question for people? I'm not saying that everyone should have a different question, but different enough so that people won't likely share answers? I don't think some people will mind if it's not even a weekly thing, but the trivia was actually pretty fun...even with the calculus questions.
First of all, trivia needs to be harder than just clicking 2-3 links and there you go.
I think that the prize pot of the Lenny Conundrum is one of the few things they did right, to an extent.
Replace the amount of SP by a prize pot of x million SP, x being a value between 1 and 5. Sharing the answer widely would mean that their reward would actually be reduced. Item reward can stay as it is.
