I just spent the past four and a half hours playing a Sims 3 file. My computer then decided it was going to shut itself down to install updates. I hadn't saved since I started it.

FML.

seriously I don't even feel like playing that game now, like, ever again. and i just got it. the feeling will pass (probably by tomorrow morning lol) but FUUUUCK

my computer restarts at random times. it got worse when microsoft deemed my system not genuine. but i had some more parts put into the computer.

eugh my computer(s) only restart randomly when there are updates to be installed. usually I can catch it and tell it to 'wait four hours' (I.E. until I decide I want to get off,) but since I was playing a game I didn't see the alert. so I guess it was like, 'ok whatevs' and shut down on its own. I'm seriously like. omfg. especially since, like, five minutes before I thought, 'you know, I should probably save this now.' :(

yeah I just hope that the Sims I made saved themselves at least. I mean I can always make them bone again (I lol'd about how you can tell them to 'woo hoo' anywhere) but the jooobs the joooooobssss

There's a way you can stop that. That's kind of just the automatic settings but you can set it to "alert me before any installations and updates that will cause my computer to shut down"

Microsoft doesn't suck, you were just uninformed.

Click around on your computer settings, you should find it.

I spent a good three and a half hours on a drawing, only for the batteries in my wireless mouse to DIE. And so I go get a normal mouse, and come home and plug it in... And my computer won't recognize it until I restart. Yeah, FML because I hadn't saved once.

MS DOES suck. It's a common fact... and worst thing I've had happen was blow a PSU and have to replace it.

I'm NOT tool inclined. AT ALL. I had someone in IRC on my then gf's computer talking me through it..... Not too rough. I replaced the PSU in like, an hour... and then got into a HUGE ASS fight w/ the GF b/c she was looking for any excuse to pitch a fit during our breakup.

That's about the worst ? I've been pretty lucky/smart and my pc's don't ever randomly reboot unless I tell them to. Sure X has locked up, but that's not a big deal.

Oooh, I feel your pain! Not with the Sims 3 though, since I'm not lucky enough to have money for it yet, but with both 1 and 2. I always would get way into building the house that I wouldn't save, ever. And then it would all be destroyed by UPDATES. D:<

my computer contracted a deadly virus and is now at the shop, lol

however, i'm currently using my mums and this thing is SHIT. when firefox freezes, the computer can't take it, and it freezes the WHOLE COMPUTER. so every fucking time it freezes i have to restart the whole computer, and it takes thirty minutes to boot up.. i'd just use IE, but subeta fails on IE. but IE just fails anyway, so

still. ugh. this computer.

as for microsoft, don't even get me started. for all of the problems my 360 has caused me, i feel the right to shove a fork through bill's forehead.

My graphics program likes to freeze after I've done something particularly complicated and difficult to replicate.

Was playing a ROM of Silent Hill, made it all the way to the final boss and couldn't beat her, so I "saved" the game and closed the emulator.

Loaded it back up and realized you couldn't create a save state for that particular emulator.

FML except I went back and beat it anyway.
