The term "lol" is so overused it pains me. Yet I use it regularly, even if something isn't funny. We need to come up with new ways to express laughter, people! Any ideas? :D

my friends and i use lol on IRC so much it doesn't even mean much anymore. if we're actually laughing at something, we go "hahaha." or "rofl wtf is your problem/that's ridiculous/you're retarded." ...yeah.

How about "ha" or "haha"? That seems pretty easy and "ha" has less letters than that horrible acronym.

I use lol, because I don't really like using 'xD'. But then I'll usually say lolz or something along those lines. Or ha.

If I really mean it though i say LOL.

If 'lol' should die, so should xD, XD, x], and any other variations of the "laughing face."

My point is no. It's a way to show you think something is funny. It's not that big of a deal.

I use LOL when the situation isn't funny enough for lmao, rofl, etc.

I really REALLY overuse XD, though. Just ask my friends .-.

"lol" has just become a habit for me, and I really don't use it seriously as in OH MY GOD I AM SO TOTALLY LAUGHING OUT LOUD RIGHT NOW THAT IS SO FUNNY It's just.. there. idk. If I feel I need to add something else to what I said but it wasn't super funny, I put lol. I guess.

I hate when people say 'I lol'd'. It's just annoying for some reason.

I also really hate 'xD'. I try my hardest to never use it.
