So there's this mockingbird in my backyard who does not seem to grasp the idea that when the SUN goes down most animals stay quiet. This bird sings from ten at night to six in the morning. Sometimes it gets so loud that I WAKE UP and cannot get back to sleep with all the noise. I'm a very light sleeper so it's extra hard for me.

I didn't fall asleep til about midnight last night because of that thing. This morning I was woken up at five and tried to fall asleep again for forty minutes before finally giving up and moving into my living room. I tried to fall asleep there but by then I was just too damn awake. I stayed up until about eleven then went back into my room and crashed until about fifteen minutes ago.

Can I shoot it? Please? If there's anyway I can get it to leave, I'd do it.

Edit: Note that I'm actually on Pacific time so it's only about 4 here. I didn't crash for seven hours.

Get a BB gun to scare it away.

I don't know about bird-shooting laws or mockingbird superstitions where you're at xD

Meh, I'm in a very large, liberal city where neo hippies flock to. I'm pretty sure I'd be upsetting someone.

But yeah, I wouldn't kill it. Just attempt to scare it off or something. The only state I know it's illegal to kill one in is Mississippi, because it's their state bird. :x

Hmm... maybe you can contact your local council or something about the bird? They might able to come and trap it and take it somewhere else.

That way the poor thing won't get shot. xD

But maybe try trowing something at it so itll get scared away,like a twig or something.And maybe it wont shut up or go away because it has a nest and its all look at my babies they are so beautiful,im gonna sing all day and night long so everybody knows!.....idk.

do not shoot the babay bird! It's our fault. He had a nice home before we came and tore down his trees. Like coyotes and possums and every animal. They are all being pushed out of their homes because we are destroying them. Just get a sprayer and spray it or something... JUST DONNT KILL ITTSS!

I must be the only one who doesn't mind birdsong, even at night. Don't kill the poor thing, why should it suffer b/c you don't like it ?

I have the same problem except with CROWS. Ugh. :( So when it's really hot I have to sleep with my window closed because otherwise they will wake me up. Lame.

I would throw something at it like like one of those crazy old ladies with a million cats who scare young children off their lawns. But that's just me.

But for real. Annoy it back. It should leave.

Shoot it with an airsoft gun. It won't kill it and it'll leave.
