I’m not talking about humans with ears. That’s not anthro, that’s kimonomimi. But I mean the furry anthro- the one with the fur, scales and animal faces? D: Does anyone else draw it? Or will attempt it?

Or why not if you don’t?

I've been SCARRED by some seniors back when I was a Freshman/Sophomore who were furry artists. D; And they'd ALWAYS draw horrid pornographic pictures of some wolf or lizard/dragon chick leaned over so you can see her "areas" or mosterous big boobs.... And they'd BRAG to me about this crap. DX

Ever since then it's just ruined me and I've sorta got little respect now towards it.

Some anthro art can be actually pretty damn beautiful. But..... I don't know there's always a part of me that is really.... bothered by it. DX

Aww really? D':

I find it odd since anime has the big boob and busty lady too. :x I don't go looking for it but I'm sure there's just as much pornography in the anime world as there is in the furry art world.

I still love drawing anthro art, and I'm sure I always will~ xD

It's one of the things that helped me to learn human anatomy better and furthered my knowledge of basic animal anatomy.

Though agreeing with Nouveau and xellis, being called a "furry" is rather insulting. Not all people who draw anthro art are "furries".

I draw anthro sometimes since I have an OC who's anthro xD Not so hot on scales, but he has feathers; anthro eagle. Bird anthros aren't as popular as canine ones, sadly xD

I'm prejudiced against wolf anthros what with them being really popular for 18+ images. :|

I draw anthros all the time. Actually, I draw anthros like 80% of the time I'm drawing.

I've never been called a furry. I don't think where I live people even know what that means. I've had to explain what an anthro is to everyone who glances over my shoulder. THAT is annoying, but it doesn't make me stop drawing what I like to draw.

I am also not afraid of 18+ images. As I am almost 20, and I'm mature enough not to freak out when I see it. Or for that matter, have horrible images of it from that point on. Now, Corn on the cob on the other hand... that's a different story.

Personally, I like drawing anthros more than humans or quads. Humans get pretty boring, unless they're covered in Mary Sue. And Quads get out of hand, because people make them unrealistic. Anthros are already unrealistic, so they can be as ridiciulous as you want them to be.

I ACTUALLY LOVE DRAWING ANTHROS. 8D I just never get to draw them since I'm not commissioned for them often, but when I can, I do like to draw them in my spare time and for friends.

I don't know if you'd call me a 'furry', since I also have a fursona n' stuff, but I don't care for labels anyway. :B I just draw what I want.

It's good to know some people draw it. :D Makes it easier to find people to commission. C:

But I really don't care about the label. Furry has too many meanings to mean anything and different people have different views on what one is.

Eh, for me it depends. I will draw -my- characters (most of which are Were-animals) in what some would consider an 'Anthro' form but to me it's a Wereform. I'm not 100% comfortable taking these kinds of commissions though I've been asked may times. I actually try to avoid drawing people, if I can. But I prefer Quad. I hate the 'furry' connotation though. XD If my weretiger was a living creature I'd dare them to call her that just to watch them get maul'd. You can see an example Here if you want.

i always thought of anthro being like, cool mid-transforming like sick animal-people, and furry being like, chuck e. cheese and sports mascots.

i think a lot of anthro art is cool (like yours!!) and i am practicing how to draw it- i am only really liking to draw like deer/sheep/other hoofy animals right now though, ahahah

i always thought it was a neat little niche, but some art i see labeled as anthro is just tacky... sigh, that happens in all sects of art though.

... I personally think it is kind of weird which is why I don't draw it, lol. :( I have nothing against those who do like it, it just doesn't float my boat.

I ADORE my true Anthros of my pets Legend and Tayama. Personally, I can't draw worth llama spit, but I'd love it if there were more artists willing to do that sort of art.

yeah, this. i drew quad and anthro art a lot when i was younger, but all the negativity that comes with those drawing styles kind of scared me away from offering my work on subeta's art freebie board (i joined when i was 10). i eventually withdrew from the whole animal shindig altogether.

the funny thing is, though, at the time i had drawn humans only a couple times and thought i'd never be as good at them as i was with animals. now i exclusively draw humans and pretty much suck at quad/anthro :(

I don't draw it simply because it doesn't interest me, and it never has. I don't have any inclination to start.

I had a friend who drew her characters as anthros, though, and she stopped because of the negative connotations associated with it. There are people assume that, because you draw anthros, you're a furry and a pervert and probably getting it on with your dog, and she got sick of that, so she turned her characters human. x: To be honest, even if I did have an interest, I think I'd be quickly turned off by all those negative associations. ):

Another reason you don't see it around here is because Subeta caters more to the Gaia end of the spectrum now (and going into the RP boards to try and find anyone decent, anthro or otherwise, is like subjecting yourself to torture). It's obnoxious for quad artists too because people always want their HAs drawn.

Furries defo have massive negative connotations, and for good reasons. Not saying that all of them are freaky diaperfurs, but the minority that are are too vocal for their own good.

(lol @ fursecution)

They pay out the ear for art, though!
