I'm a fattie. c:

I can carry the weight if I wear the right clothes but the truth is I spend most of my time wearing my fandom and band t-shirts because I like them. They're big enough to hide all my excess baggage (and the fact my, ahem, assets are pretty big also helps in terms of how the material falls) but they really don't help my pear-shape. I have massive hips, even without the fat (I think; it's quite easy to feel the bone). I suppose the plus side to this is I could carry babies but I really don't want them there babies in me. :(

ANYWAY!

My mum and I have noticed that I've actually lost a lot of weight off my tummy recently. This is pretty good considering all I've really done in terms of exercise is walk to and from college (which is about a 15/20min walk one way - so 30/40min there and back - depending on how fast I go), sometimes a couple of times a day (the advantage of having massive frees and living in the same town).

Also I appear to have been doing that Special K diet where you eat two bowls of cereal instead of two meals and then have one proper meal per day, but I've been doing with Crunchy Nut Cornflakes instead. I am such a Crunchy Nuttie. D: Can't get enough of them.

So, CC, what have you been doing to lose weight? Or did do to lose weight? Or have you lost any weight just by inadvertedly doing things rather than making a direct concious decision to do them (this is mostly how I lose weight)?

well, what's wrong with a little destruction?

I've lost weight by sleeping in really late and missing meals. Needless to say, I'm bound to gain it back if I'm not careful. :(

I've been trying to properly lose the baby fat I've been carrying for a while by biking at least 30-45 minutes a day, lifting weights, eating less simple and more of the complex carbs, more fruits and veggies, and drinking more water. I've been on a good start so far. Because my dad's trying to lose weight as well and buys lots of healthy foods now, it's a lot easier to eat healthier. :D

I cut out a lot of the fats and salty products I used to consume. I've lost a good amount of my baby fat but I'm starting to exercise to get rid of the little ponch I have now. P:

I do circular training and recently picked up 'strongman training'. Let me tell you, picking up a huge truck tire and flipping it is not easy. I've been doing lots of lunges and back exercises to help build up my strength as those areas are my weakest points. I'm hoping to get to the point where I can do at least 15 pull-ups.

I lost weight with changing my eating habits. I just didn't eat what isn't good. So no white flour products, no candy, avoided fat, didn't drink anything sweet (so only tea or water).

i dont pay attention to weight, but what is up with that special k thing? @

how can eating 2 bowls of cereal and one proper meal be nutritionally adequate? why dont you just eat 3 proper meals?

whatever works for you i guess. :D good for you on making time for exercise! and imo, a pear shape is the prettiest one of them all.

It's not nutritionally adequate. It causes you to eat less than you normally would. It's what I coin 'false weightloss'. The weight comes back after you start eating regularly again. However, it does cause your stomach to shrink which can help you stop overeating.

I used to eat horribly. I hardly ever had proper meals, and when I did eat it was usually junk food.

I kicked all the bad stuff to the curb nearly two years ago, and I've been eating well ever since. I don't eat junk food or fast food anymore, but I still enjoy sugary stuff- just very little, and not as frequent.

At first, I really missed all the cookies and chips and what not- but I also love healthy foods, so it really wasn't that hard for me to drop the bad stuff all together.

I've gotten kind of lazy, though :P For exercise, I play about an hour of DDR four days a week, and then about 8 minutes of pilates every day. I've kind of been slacking on it lately, though. I'm pretty bad when it comes to staying motivated. =/

I eat better now that I'm in college, ironically. I also walk a lot now that I live on campus, so I've lost a few pounds. I just wish my thighs were thinner. :p

I go to Curves and work out at least 3 days a week, usually 5 days. And I add walking at least 30 minutes a few times a week too. I love Curves though, fo'seriously. I don't think I would be doing as well without it.

I've been doing it out of accident rather than choice (although as I say with Crunchy Nut cornflakes because as much as I actually like Bran Flakes I cannot imagine eating Special K that much); I'm a bit of a fussy eater and recently because of money problems we've been shopping really conservatively so there's not been a lot of food in the house at the best of times. So I've been eating those cornflakes instead because I like them and they're quite filling. :D

- me too. :( I always think "oh, I'll do some exercise in the morning" or whatever before I go to sleep at night, and then I completely forget by the next day. Or if I remember I can never be bothered.

- cutting out the junk food (chips, chocolates, etc.) is kind of hard for me because I eat when I'm bored which is a lot of the time, really. :/ I suppose I should go out and get some exercise instead tbh. The worst thing is I don't really want said junk food but I eat it anyway because it's there, and although we get fruit I always forget about it. :( I'm trying not to eat as much junk food as I used to though.

I understand completely. I've had to give up a lot of foods too and have to compensate by eating nothing but cheap eggs as a protein source. :c Even canned tuna has gotten too expensive for me.

In dieting, I have a saying- whatever works for you! It wouldn't work for me, but if it's helping you lose weight, then it's something.

- You're JUST like me, I'm terrible for eating when I'm bored. I still do it! It's been the hardest habit to break. I snack on cereal or fruit when I'm bored, though. I don't have junk food in the house, so I can't eat it.

I would recomend getting rid of junk food altogether, but that may not be possible in your situation. In that case, try eating that fruit! Make a concious decision to grab an apple instead of a bag of chips, or whatever. It might be hard with the temptation of junk food there, but if you want to try and eat healthier, it's the best way to start.

I worked out for a while to lose weight.

Thing was I worked out in a way that, only later did I learn, ended up building muscle and thus I pretty much didn't lose anything. I was noticeably thinner somewhat, but that's all.

And I do understand the trouble with having a pear-shaped figure. I'm more hourglass myself, but on the larger side of that so it's a bitch trying to find pants that fit more comfortably around the thighs and hips area that don't ride up past your belly button.
