So I'm thinking I'll grab me a nice peach tea and drink it here at my desk while I work. I swirl the bottle around to mix the tea dredgey-bits and then open it. And read the cap:

"Real Fact" Horses can't vomit.

WELL THANK YOU SNAPPLE. That's just the kind of thing I want to know before enjoying my drink. FFS. -_-

Anyone else learn anything...interesting..lately? XD

I'm keeping the cap. I think I might make it into a necklace or a found art piece or something. XD I can just imagine someone saying "Oh, I like your necklace." And then they look closer. "What does it say...oh..umm...wow, okay." I would rofl so hard. Yeah, I have to do that now.

Cat scratch fever is a real thing though. It happens when the cat has bacteria on its claws and it scratches you and you get sick. It isn't really a single infection though...it can be a number of different things. Usually it can be treated with an antibiotic though, since it's usually caused by bacteria. You should see a doctor if you can.

i would keep it forever oh my goshhhhhh.

yeah, i went to the doctor and she was like "hm idk what's wrong with you" and then she sent me to the eye doctor and she asked me a couple of times if my cat scratched my face and that's almost impossible, so she was a little baffled and sent me to get my blood drawn. i'll know within the week i suppose. in the meantime i'm on antiobiotics and eyedrops that don't seem to be helping :'-(

Yeah, I just read your post about it and commented. Complete with my own gross problem, lol. I hope it turns out that everything's okay! How long have you been on the antibiotic? Sometimes it takes a week or two to take full effect.

Well, I certainly didn't know that before now, haha.

The only thing I can think of that I've realized lately is that animals with brown eyes look sadder than other animals. Seriously, next time one of those Sarah McLachlan commercials comes on, count how many have brown eyes. There's usually only one, if that, that doesn't have brown eyes. I think it's because the light reflects off of brown eyes in such a way that the animal looks like it's crying, or at least looks very sad(my dog certainly looks that way). xD

Oh my GOD, I can't stand those commercials. I have to mute them and look away when they come on or I'll be bawling like an idiot. T_T

I know, right? I can't hear her songs without thinking of those darn things. But yeah, one day my mom pointed out that brown eyed dogs look sadder and we started counting them whenever one came on, and that's when we realized that they rarely used animals with other eye colors. xD

I never noticed dogs with brown eyes look more sad. Thinking about it though, I've never seen a blue eyed Husky looking horribly sad. Huh. Those commercials are torture :c

So...then what happens if they're sick and like, their body has to dispel stuff? Gross thing here but maybe they just get diarrhea to get rid of it? I would personally hate not being able to throw up. I get that queasy feeling in my stomach and sometimes cough to make myself puke because it makes me feel so sick.

That...is disgusting. But I was also thinking the same thing lol. Personally though, I think I'd like to be a horse, if only for this reason. I'm absolutely terrified of throwing up. I always thinking I'm going to aspirate it and stop breathing or choke or whatever. I hate not being in control.

Oooh, I already knew about that thanks to my stepdad, but I can imagine it must not have been very appetizing right before drinking something. Snapple really should think their "fun facts" through before putting them on their drinks, haha.

My stepdad grew up taking care of horses with his grandmother, and their inability to vomit is definitely a problem! As a result, you have to be careful with what you feed them/how much to feed them. If the horse can pass the problem through its system completely (so yes, poop), then it will be okay, but colic (abdominal pain) is the leading cause of premature death in domesticated horses. :c

- Random fact for you -- Cochineal scales are tiny sapsucking insects native to the southwestern US which live on cacti. They have been harvested for red dye for thousands of years and are the highest quality natural red coloring. Any Snapple that contains "natural colors" or "cochineal" contains these insects. =)

Oh wow, I actually did know that because it's possible for horses to over-eat and die because they can't throw up to clear their stomachs :// it's why you never let a horse loose in a field with lots of apple trees. They'll kill themselves.

I learned you shouldn't drink out of a glass while laying down. Took me eighteen years to figure that nugget out haha

HA. I would've laughed, that's beautiful. I dunno, I guess it takes quite a lot more than a mention of horse vomit to turn my stomach.

e: Oh! I was watching QI and apparently Germany is 'the home of modern nudism'. The more you know.

If you watch Stephen Fry tell random facts on various subjects to comedians that show is pretty much the best thing.

I don't remember where is heard this, maybe on I Fucking Love Science on facebook but apparently koala's fingerprints indistinguishable from human fingerprints. So now I'm convinced there's a gang of evil koalas running around Australia.
