I don't think I actually mind the double 'r' bit at the start or the decapitalising of the names, but I think that the name 'rreign' seems just too much like the word 'reign', which seems unfair on the other animals I do like the idea of basing it on welsh, but I just think the name could be more imaginative. I like the spelling rhaen given a couple of posts ago, and Rrhaen looks pretty awsome in my opinion. I think if the name is very unpopular, we should really have a poll on it, shouldn't we?

Dude, seriously? I can't even remember the name of the species of all my pets. And I only have five.

I didn't get a -checks- Popoko because I liked the name of the species. You could have called the species anything, you could have just massed the keyboard, and I would still be all "yay alien squirrel!" My pet is called Xad, not Sun Popoko.

your kidding me right? People are getting mad about a name change o_o What has the world come to? Im glad that they changed the name. Like the post said. They already have a few dragon pets on here. It doesn't work well to have a dragon species called dragon. It just doesn't at all. The staff is right and other users are right as well when the staff cant have you guys have your say in every single thing they're thinking of doing to the site. Be thankful that you have some say. It's very VERY rare to see that in other sites. Subeta has done a great job overall. Be happy about that. Still not happy? Well then, pack your bags and leave.

I personly don't like the new name but I'll deal... I will still them dragons but so you know the new name really doesn't seem to fit it just sounds more like it should be for one of the hooved pets like (Hikei or Devonti) but that's just me!

Wow...I've never seen so many people upset over a name before. O_o

I actually really like the new name. However, the lack of capitalization really, really irks me. Not because of grammar reasons, but simply because Rreign just looks better. Having two lowercase repeat letters side by side just looks redundant and makes the name unappealing. If that first r would just change to uppercase, the name change would win me over 100%. ^^'

To me rreign sounds like a play off region and in different myths and legends you get dragons or dragon-like creatures that come from different places spread over different regions of the Earth.

And who cares if its double letters? People sometimes name their pets with double letters, so now because a pet's species has been changed to have doubles its suddenly...

"ZOMG!!! DA WORLD IZ ENDIN! DA DRAGON GOT A NEEDED NAME-VAMP!!!!"

Blocking affects your gameplay DIRECTLY, as Luxe said.

Players are expecting to part part of every decision, but there is no way it can be done. Yes, it sucks, but how many sites let you decide as much things as Subeta does.

Instead of begging for a mile each time give you a inch, appreciate what you have, for you may not have it everywhere!

I'm fine with the change itself Rreign... most likely will misspell it many times but hey, it realy sounds good. Esp the growl thing.
Though without caps? I mean... is is a species name at all then? After what i've learned it isn't. - Yet allone the esthetic view at two small double consonants at the beginning? Just simply looks wrong. (again: to me, ... and quite some the others down here like it seems)

The "fried and devoured" comment on the end of the News doesn't realy help to lighten the mood. =3

I always found the name "Dragon" to be too generic, so I'm happy it was changed. It could have been something other than Rreign, but I like it much more than Dragon, anyway. : ) Rrrrr.

It's okay. I personally dragon.. er rreign.. hard to get used to. But whatever, I kind of like the rolling R. xD Sounds more dragonish. But I actually would prefer to have species names capitalized.. No big deal.

I am sorry, but I felt the need to post to say that I totally agree about how bad this pet name change is. Subeta is trying to be unique with its own themes and names, but it is turning into something like neopets which I am not too fond of. The primary reason I joined subeta was because IT WAS almost like a mirror to the real world. We had DRAGONS and HALLOWEEN, not Morostide and we got items that were relevant to real life. It saddens me to see this site fall prey to trying to fit in, and displeasing its users, that's all.

And just so you know, you say it with a purr. Instead of just plain old "Reign" it's, "Rrrreign" but I'm still going to call them Dragons never the less.

I still love the species, don't get me wrong. I even plan to adopt a dragon when I become gold again but the least you guys could have done was spell it correctly...

Sorry, but I also dislike the new name change. The double "r" at the beginning just looks dumb, in my opinion. But that's just my opinion.

Luxe, there's always gonna be people who don't like what you guys as Staff have done. And they're ALWAYS going to be verbal about it. It's the way the real world works too. Sorry, but making changes to something that's been a certain way for a while and expecting not to get any comments about it is naive. If it's really so irritating, just ignore it. You're not being forced to answer the people who are bawwwing over this.

If you don't like the name, what does it matter? Are you going to name your personal pet by the species? If you like the species, you're golden. If you don't like the species, you're also golden; if the name alone sways your decision, you're too damn picky.

This is why we HAVE a creative department for. Not all changes should be polled. The majority of the creative department will still be here in six, nine, twelve, eighteen months. It has not changed that much since I joined, two years ago.

Userbase? It has changed, tons of people left, tons of people stayed. It's not static enough for me to let ALL decisions on site in their hands. They have plenty of issues to chose on, they can't get the milk, the cow, and the farmer wife's ass.

I'm not too bothered about the name change, but lowercase makes me sad. They aren't animals. Real life doesn't apply. (and by the way.. "the dragons have announced.." sounds a bit like ALL of the dragon-like species on Subeta are announcing ;P OH! The perils of noncapitalization.)

Well then. I guess all pets should either go into a "cat, fish, bird, dog, lizard" category. Poodles, bulldogs, chihuahuas, hounds should all be "dogs", because, accourding to you, they don't need special names.

I personally think the name is meant to diferentiate it from other dragons. That's it. The staff tried to be creative. If we had been polled on this, and given name hcoices, I bet people would still have given other name suggestions or critized the name options.

People are taking this the hard way because they a) this it sounds ridiculous because of the double "r" b.) They can't figure out how to pronounce the double "r" (myself included) c.) The don't like the capitalization. (which seems to have have gone back to a capital R in our pet lookups and in items.)

On a side note, anyone think Circe totally rocks??

I really don't like this change in name. rreign is such an ugly looking word. If it was Rheign like someone else suggested, the name wouldn't sound nicer, but it would look far better.

Quite honestly, it doesn't matter if you don't know how to make that sound. There's not many people who are going to go about their daily lives rolling the R in Rreign. We'll all just pronounce it as rain.

Honestly I don't care for the name of a specie. They can name the mortikings "gsdgsgd" if they want to and I can still not care as long as they keep to be the same specie I always loved. That's why you get to name your pet; if you like the specie, go ahead. You don't go complaining on your pet "Koko" the hamster, just because you didn't liked the name of it's kind. It's not like we got asked when all the existing animals got their specie's name. Srsly.

The capitalization on the other hand "might" look like a big deal; but it's not. Luxe have said like a 100 times already they won't change the titles on anything. Not on your pet profile, not on the item names, not (wherever they should be on caps). Rreigns, rreigns, rReIgNs or however you want to write it, you won't get a warning for doing it your way.

I get that the double are is because of the growling sound, but ironically I had a conversation with a friend less than 24 hours ago about how I am entirely incapable of making a growling sound like that, logged onto Subeta, and found that a pet species I like has been renamed to a name including that sound. Anyway, the double Rs would bug me if I didn't see how it's because of the pronunciation (and I do see it)... And I like the name. But what I don't like is how I am entirely incapable of correctly pronouncing the name of a species I like. Here's to hoping the Dra-Rreigns don't mind me pronouncing it ''rain'' without the growl... Hopefully the sensitive ones won't eat me for it.

I can't say that I like the two Rs in Rreign. But it's much more original than dragon. :/

Personally I thing the pet species name should be spelled Rhreign instead of the two Rs together.

What's with all the panties in a twist. This are bound to change because Subeta is obviously choosing to update and go forward and no one really likes change but we get used to it so maybe you just need to log off for a few weeks and come back when it rankles you less.

And to make a comparison, when Neo changed the whole site all we got for warning was a loveing meepit. At least here the starr will ast least talk to you.
