XD! Nestly, now that you mention it, the left foot does have a bit of a thicker outline. I didn't notice until you pointed it out.

Awesome. This version is a lot better than the current version. I love how you can see it's body through the membrane. And I love his chest fluff ! Like others have said, the back ear is a little dodgy, but by it's expression of being cautious with it's ears pinned back it does fit in. Totally awesome job Nestly!

I really think it's a big improvement, the thing that bugs me is the left ear, it seems to me that it is determined despire natural forces to be backwards. Perhaps make it more like a side view, instead of back facing?

I love it! The only thing I don't really like is the location of the left shoulder (it looks it's a bit too far to the front).

I knew this was Nestly's work, the eyes gave it away =p

My only qualm would be that some of the shading looks a bit fuzzy to me, it might just be my eyes playing tricks on me...

The wings are really, really bothering me for some reason. :/
Bats wings usually connect all the way down to the waist, not tapering off to connect right under the armpit. It would never be able to fly the way it is now. XD

Nevertheless, it is growing on me. Make the wings a tad bigger and give them more membrane and I may very well get one. (:

This new one is AWESOME to me, except the wings. I'd totally get one if the wings made sense. Its body looks too big in comparison to the wings (picture it in flight; would it really lift off?).

Not crazy about the ears and the angle of the face but I love the quality of the shading and the body shape.

So all in all it looks very nice.

The new one is Amazing!!!
I love how it's a lot thinner in the revamp, how the expression is much more neutral, and it just looks a whole lot better. (:

The only things I would change are the angle of the back ear and the image quality, then it's perfect. ^^

Aaah, Neestly, this is GORGEOUS -dies-

And in all honesty. I like the toned-down expression. There's a reason there are colors like bloodred and darkmatter c: The common color should be more nuetral.

I love how the tail looks more natural as well, like, it fits, instead of having random blocky stripes x3 I also love how you thinned the Las' down, it seems more believable.
And as Seerow said, wings do 'unfurl' c:

They are my favorite species, but I love this even better. Hopefully Skreech, my beloved vampiric bloodred lasirus, will get a makeover then? -winkwinkhinthint- Anyway, some opinions and crits to the new lasirus:

Its' right ear looks off it's noggin, literally. A bit too rounded near the hair tuft.

My big deal- PLEASE CHANGE the hind legs... they have a shine that just should NOT be there, and they're too furry.

ha, looks very nice indeed. a couple days ago i was wondering when this would come out.

i must say, it looks A LOT better. there are a few things though, and people have already pointed these out:
1)the head seems like its too dark, and im thinking its the stripes on the legs. the lighter stripes make the body look lighter and theres nothing like that on the head to even that out.
2)the back ear is a tad bit wonky
3)and, the muzzle is a little to boxy and long. not that all bats have short snouts, but it would look a little more "vampire bat" like if the muzzle was shorter. but, it isnt a bat. like Raeven_Darkwings said.

there are good things though i would like to say, so i dont sound like im being too horrible ^^;

i like the new pose. its less hunchy than the old one, which really radiates a new perception on the creature. i like it
i like the new face. i never wanted a Lasirus because it looked like it was gonna tear my face off and feed it to its children (no offence, seriously). this one still looks sinister, but it looks more like its /planning/ to tear my face off, not actually do it right there. XD

well, im gonna vote for the new one, because there are so little flaws, the artist did a real nice job with this one

To all those who are insisting that the revamp shouldn't look evil because bats don't look evil - we (or I myself, at least) are not basing our opinions on real bats. We're basing them on the original Lasirus. Which is, as you can see from the current pet art, clearly NOT a cute friendly little fruit bat. The photo NoirRaven posted about halfway down the page looks more like a Lasirus to me.

On another note, I didn't even notice the transparent wings until Blitz mentioned them. Which is good - it means they're not too transparent, and don't distract from the rest of the art. Nice touch!

I don't see the wings as being too small. Remember, they are membrane and as such they would stretch in flight. If the wings are half furled like they are in this pose, they won't appear as large as they would when it was actually flying.

I must have a strange way of thinking, because I LOVE how this redraw is thinner and more graceful (do big bony things fly? Nope), while I never liked the Galactic Lasirus because the wings looked like they were made of giant femurs or broomsticks (sorry, whoever drew that one !) I hope that even if this one is tweaked, the slimness isn't lost. I'd hate for the whole species to suffer from broomstick-wing syndrome...

but enough championing the 'subeta pets aren't real animals they're their own species that happen to look like other animals' cause. we're all smart here, we know that is still recovering from teh polarbear/anyu disaster

I think it would look more like a flying animal if it had bigger wings though. Right now they just look kinda accidental... Like they've grown vestigial and now only serve to decorate the arms. XD

But I really don't mean to tear down Nestly. She did way better than I could do. ^^'
I like the way the wings are transparent, by the way. =D The little part where the body shows through looks pretty.

I really like it My only complaints are that the ear lines are too dark and it needs to look a -leetle- bit more evil. Right now, the ear lines look like little mini-ears inside ears, and they shouldn't XD And the right ear looks kind of unnaturally smooshed

I like the new one, my only complaint is that our left side of the head looks squished probably because of the angle of the head. I do like the big ears though

I really like this new one! However, I think I like the feet on the old one better (but you had to redraw them, and the head on this new one seems a bit dark, even though it's probably the same color throughout the body...
I really like it's eyes.
It looks cute but defiant and intelligent. Like it could be an unsuspected evil mastermind. Like my sister's cat.
Those are my opinions.

This new one looks pretty good I voted for the old one though for two reasons: The stripes on the knees are a little distracting from the darker head (dunno, it might just be me), and second, I miss the scowl the old one has. But over all it looks great and a lot more proportioned.

I think it's funny how everyone thinks that the Lasirius should look evil. Thats what potioning pets is for. When most bats don't look mean at all, take a look at this fruit bat:

The only thing that annoys me is the muzzle on both the new and original because it looks too square, and only on the revamp too dark. It would be nice to have it a lighter shade of brown if not rusty pink to have it show up a bit better. Otherwise it looks great to me. I like the non- hunchedback look of this new one because (no offense) but the old one looks like it has a potato for the body. XD

I don't mind some colours presenting a cuddly flying mouse just as long as there's at least one option for a vicious little killer as well. I've got a Marsh Lasirus which has exactly the same face and pose as the Common version. If the Marsh Lasirus ends up with the same face and pose as this new one I'd like to be able to change it to a colour which doesn't make my pet look cute and cuddly.

I'm sorry but I love the savage look of the original. The face and expression on this one make me think in terms of sweet, cute, cuddly and affectionate. Would it be possible to have the new Lasirus available in one colour where it looks as if it's about to tear someone's throat out? It's why I chose a Lasirus in the first place.

slightly, yes, but it works because it's coming out at you. there's also a VERY slight thickening on the tail (side farthest from the body, along the curve) but only if you're super-attuned to looking at line thickness (it's my personal weakness ><)

Nestly: The Galactic Lasirus is probably the only special color that won't get revamped; at least not any time soon. (Though Bloodred, Graveyard, Chibi etc. will!)
It was drawn by a different artist which is why the style is different, but the quality is still nice and up-to-date enough. :3

(Also, does anyone think that the lineart looks thicker on the left leg/foot? Heheh, I'm just now noticing this, and was wondering if it's just because I've looked at it too long!)

The Lasirus doesn't look shoved in my honest opinion. xD It looks perfectly fine. And people, it's not like it's entirely based off a bat, so stop mentioning how 'un-batlike' it looks.

Oh, I think he could use a liiiiiittle more highlights. Highlights = LOVE. Like, a teeny bit more.

Finally [= I have been waiting for this darling species to be revamped since I first joined. I love the new version's wings and how they are rather transparent. The coloring is nice and the legs looks good.
Personally, I would have preferred the ears to be slightly cocked forward, but its a minor detail that I can get used to.

The details and coloring are nice, the pose and proportions just aren't working for me though.

I like a lot of the aspects of the revamp, like the insides of the ears, the fluffier collar and end of the tail, and the feet. . . so it's getting my vote.

I think the only thing I have to say as a suggestion is that I prefer the positioning of the original better. I liked how the old one was hunched over and more angry looking. I think it suited the pet more than the new smiling one.

Oh gosh. I've always wanted to be a subeta artist... but every time I read these revamp comments I'm just... like....... Whoa. ;; It frightens me sometimes. There's always such relentless critique. Especially for revamp artists.(in fact, almost only for revamps....). Many very helpful comments, but many are also a little harsh, even for critique. I know I shouldn't be saying this... I know :c But I just feel bad for the artist sometimes...

Anyways, this is a revamp that I like. I do agree about the critique with the head shape though, i thought it was kinda cute when the snout was shorter. But it's definitely wrong to say that it was a mistake in anatomy, or "not possible". Just look at <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Bristol.zoo.livfruitbat.arp.jpg."> this guy. And <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imageteropus_conspicillatus.jpg">here<./a> Its not "wrong", its just that I will miss the cute nose and scowl c: Besides, why is it so important for the art to be so excruciatingly realistic? If all the pets looked like perfectly rendered encyclopedia-like artwork, Subeta just wouldn't be the same. I love how fun and imaginative the pets are. And well... yeah. Those are just my thoughts. So... I think this is a good place to end, cause..... I really dont want to start any fights ><
