Quest-A-Thon: COMING SOON to a quest near you

Are you ready for a Quest-A-Thon? Y’all have asked for it over the past two years and it’s finally here. Well, almost.

Starting at 12:00am on Monday August 24 you will have until 11:59pm on Friday September 4 to complete 1,000,000 quests as a team!

Like always, the completing quests from the following quest givers will count towards the goal: Blue Building, Carl, Cinthia, Mori and Nori, Alexander, Maleria, Pete, Quentin, Saggitarius, Sarah, and The Wizard.

Don’t forget that regular users can complete 10 quests per quest giver and gold account users can complete 15 quests per quest giver a day. The only quest this does not apply to is Blue Building quests, which are 5 a day for everyone.

Now let’s discuss prizes! If the goal is met, participants will get the following prizes:

1 Pet Slot

Sparkles forum title

A special new Avatar Border! What are avatar borders? They are a new feature that adds something special to your avatar headshot. Future borders will be given out in all sorts of ways, so keep an eye out! As far as the quest-a-thon goes, any participant will get the Blue Sun Sparkle border. If you place in the top 100 participants, you’ll get the Gold Sun Sparkle border as well! (We expect a lot of ties, so more than 100 people might end up getting the gold Sparkle border)

Looking forward to this! I used to do all the quests daily. But the last 1-2 years my time spent here has been much less, and I've barely done any quests at all. I'll definitely try to do all of them again!

I just hope that there will be an official announcement regarding Sarah (if the Forum Group workaround is allowed or not). ❓ Question: is there still a limit on how much sP we can have on hand, if we're actually allowed to move sP around?

for peeps working towards access to Blue Building, and finding the forum post count a struggle - we've got a forum group to help with that!

Posting Frenzy<< we've got daily reminders with a super handy list of heeaps of threads you can post on, some in the public forums, but heaps also in the group forums if you're uncomfortable posting in the public forums (the group forums still count towards your overall total of forum posts, they just won't give you a chance at earning forum points/raffle tickets). in total, we've got over 100 threads listed and linked, so there may be quite a few there to boost your way into getting access to Blue Building before the Quest-a-Thon even starts ;)

It unfortunately doesn't actually even out.

Blue Building is 5 quests a day for everyone, Gold account or not. That's a total of 35 quests for the week.

Sarah is 15 quests a day for Gold account users (105 quests for a week) and 10 a day for non Gold account users (70 quests a week).

If you miss Blue Building quests for the entire week, it is still possible for you to place in the top 100 (since people can tie for spots) as long as you have a GA and access to all other quest givers. However, if you're unable to access Sarah, or are uncomfortable with the work arounds (since staff keeps flip flopping on whether work arounds are or aren't allowed over the years) there is a chance, you will not be able to place in the top 100, even with access to everything else and having a GA.

thank Grog i've got next week off work, this is great timing! personally i love Maleria's (and Cinthia's) quests for the very reason that they only give out sP. less junk i have to sort/frag/price lol! plus, Maleria usually asks for the same kinds of things, so i usually have some stuff stashed in my vault that she asks for, which cuts down my outlay. i never quit a quest (unless an item is in the millions) because i always need questpoints and at the end of the day i still make a profit. so all in all, this is a win for me! (although i've only got 6 pets so far so that's kind of a pointless prize for me personally, but i'm happy to work towards the goal for others :) ) we can do this team!

the avvie borders look like a cool addition, i'm excited to see what styles we get in the future~ (wishing for a cool gothic scrollwork one crosses fingers )

Ooooh this looks like fun! We'll see how active I can be once shop prices start skyrocketing, my general personal rule for quests is that if I don't turn at least a little profit I won't do it because otherwise whaaaat is even the point?

Though to everyone who is talking about it being unfair that Sarah's quests are included... as someone who just joined back in May and still has Sarah's quests, but NOT the Blue Building quests, I think it evens out? I don't even know how to begin getting the Blue Building quests, and I only got Carl's quests as a happy accident when I asked a friend how to get hydrus pets. And for those poor enough to have Sarah's quests, it'll be a nice to have someone asking for stuff that isn't inflated all to heck. The people with five year old+ accounts and trillions of sP can afford a brief price hike. Those of us still getting the hang of the game or who don't have hours to commit to it a day, not so much.

It evens out, is my point.

I hope the restocking of shops will reflect the Quest a Thon. Book Book has been almost always empty for a couple of days already, and prices will skyrocket incredibly fast.

I first thought they would look more like the ones on FR. BUt these are kinda really simple and amazing. I love the blue one.

A question: how many quests I have to do, to be considered as "taken part of"? I sadly don't have much time, but would try to do as many as I can.

I don't understand the reasoning of people wanting an "opt out" option for the "event"? Absolutely nothing would change for them apart from earning the prizes afterwards - or not. It is not a plot. Everybody will just keep on playing as usual, only the site will be busier, prices will increase, restocking will be harder, better shop profits? All this will be noticeable to everyone, no matter if they actively strive to reach the goal or if they personally "opt out" and refuse to join the hustle.

Also big agree with on the numbers here, can we get the restrictions of Sarah quests removed for this please? I'm really kinda worried we're not going to be able to make the goal otherwise.

I will always be happy over events that potentially give out free pet slots ;) Which has me worried after reading that this might not be the case going forward for Quest-a-Thons...Being able to pick the prize you want would have been better then imo. A Quest-aThon without a pet slot as a reward wouldn't be interesting to me. I don't care about forum titles (I already use the only one that is perfect for me, as I'm always on the hunt for more pet slots), and the avatar borders? Don't really care. I didn't care about the hoodie last time either since I don't make modern HAs shrugs And I can't think of any other part of the site that would have potential rewards that would entice me as much as pet slots do... Not that I'll ever sit a Quest-a-Thon out though since I always do my quests every single day, but it's nicer to have a big, interesting, reward at the end of an event obviously

So I'm seeing a lot of posts asking for Sarah's restrictions to be removed and while that's very convenient, considering she pays really well, I don't think that's either doable or fair. What is doable is raising her limit. Sarah seems to think that 2 mill SP is "a lot" of money and it really isn't. Despite the prices going down, it still takes me a week and a half to earn 100csc via questing. I think 5 Million is a more reasonable limit. Sure, some people will still be put out but there are workarounds. Personally, I just don't do Sarah. If you scroll down and hit the spoiler, I did the math and our odds are still pretty good even without her inclusion. That doesn't mean I want her excluded from the competition, however, for there are people who can do her quests but not Blue Building's or Carl's and they need that option.

however, you can make your own personal closed forum group where no one else will be able to enter and then you have absolutely no fear of someone stealing your SP while you are doing your Sarah quests.

Way to get me back and active on subeta as I've been offline way more often than not lately...just bored and waiting for CW lower prices to submit....and now I'm feeling obligated to come on daily through this to do quests. Though, this is the first time I'm super relieved to have a non GA account which means I only have to do 10 quests per quester instead of 15 LOL XD

Excited for this! However, I do agree with the people asking specifically for Sarah's restrictions to be lifted. Saggi is just a matter of collecting SP, Sarah could potentially mean the loss of all your SP if you have someone else hold it, even in a forum group. I personally have over 200 million SP in my vault and I am in no way keen to just hand that over to someone else. I worked really hard for that SP over the past 12-ish years that I've been on the site.

IDK. Just feels like not taking Sarah's restriction off is asking for trouble. I don't think Staff would want to be inundated with tickets titled "SOANDSO stole all my SP while I was doing Sarah quests!"

Normally I'm really excited to do Quest-a-thon events, and I'm always up for a new pet slot :D

BUT...

...there does still seem to be a problem with shops restocking too little and I hope it's adjusted before the event actually starts, otherwise there's going to be a lot of price gouging on common items and that's going to kill a lot of the fun for me. I'll still participate and do what I can, of course. But I'm just saying, please don't just ignore this problem.

Although I'm also a bit wary of having to "cheat" to do Sarah's quests, even though it's been okay'd. Thanks to everyone who posted the idea about making a forum group to store sP. Much easier than coordinating sending it back and forth.

Major Drills and Battle Quests do not count - only quests who have a chance of giving you a Morty Card count. (Blue Building does not give QuestPoints, but does have a chance at giving Morty Cards)

I mean, thinking about it, it makes sense, but I've had so much happen in the last 24 months specifically that I hadn't noticed. (As opposed to counting a year as January to December, it's specifically the past two years to this very month that I've had a crazy large amount of big things happen in my life.)

what I was saying is there should be an option to opt out completely to an event, and yes, that would absolutely mean no benefits of prizes for whomever chooses to do so. Every event should have that option imo and it would cut out the notifications or alerts or anything involved, so then whomever chooses the opt out could be left to their own to resume the site as normal. Again, though, I have no idea how involved it is, but would be a nice option for those that don't enjoy these kinds of events or maybe pressure that might come from them. Kind of like a join the team button or something. Either way, everyone should be able to feel comfortable in their site experience during events. I'll personally be doing what I can, but the next person may not feel comfortable taking part at all and that would be nice to be optional

Individual events should have an opt out, yeah. Quest-a-thon isn't individual, it's collective, so having the option to opt-out isn't really something I'd want, if only because people would opt out just because the prizes aren't exactly what they'd want.

It's not even about interest - last time, people would probably have opted out just because the fashion hoodie was account bound, even though they do use and like the wardrobe.

In a collective effort, you want as many people as possible to participate, so why opt out? There is no negative to the actual event.

Also, from a coding aspect, yeah, it might be complex. Not at first, but later on.

Considering that we're most likely gonna get boons for quests later in the quest-a-thon, it actually is a little bit annoying to code two separate quest pools for each quester, depending on who opts in and who opts out. That isn't 100% glitch free.

Because if you gotta opt out, you fully opt you. You shouldn't reap the advantages given to people who do participate.

Some people don't want to participate in events and that should be fine and acceptable, too. I personally don't see why there couldn't be an opt out option, but I'm not a coder so I don't know how involved that would be. But any event should have an opt out option, even if others don't understand why.

I would guess that somehow Sarah would be put on a temporary change to match all the other Quests, because otherwise there isn't a point to include her. This is also not speaking kindly to my lazy side in not wanting to be active and knowing I have a gold account in my inventory

Why? You don't have to fill the pet slot, you don't have to use the forum title, or the borders. All of these are absolutely optional to use.

Seriously, don't announce that you wish that your efforts wouldn't count for the group, that's not really in the spirit of the event
